Bernie’s Foundation Crumbling- Campaign Alumni Address “Sexual Violence” In 2016.

Bernie Sanders is all bernt up!

Former staffers and alumni of the 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign wrote a lengthy letter to Bernie’s office, wanting to set up a meeting with Bernie’s office to address the climate of “sexual violence” that took place during the 2016 primary season. They labeled the situation as it developed “untenable”, and “dangerous”. They made specific reference to a pervasive culture of toxic masculinity

More than two dozen women and men who worked on that campaign participated in the letter’s crafting.

“In recent weeks there has been an ongoing conversation on social media, in texts, and in person, about the untenable and dangerous dynamic that developed during our campaign,” they wrote.

It’s about time.

This letter is not only a huge nail in undead Bernie’s coffin. It is also solid proof of something we’ve been waiting a long time for; namely, that the 9 of 10 Sanders supporters who went on to vote for Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 have inside them the moral capacity needed to assert themselves and make their voices heard on this incredibly important matter.

We’ve been hoping for years for this because it had been getting really hard to keep respecting those who kept on supporting Sanders through it all.

For three years now, we who occupy the sane center of America’s political spectrum have been forced to watch as a new type of critter, the Bernie Bro, crawled up out of the primordial filth to start spewing all over the country’s national dialectic. You couldn’t get through ten posts on your Facebook timeline without seeing some line of anti-Clinton conspiracy hatred slathered somewhere around a #BernieOrBust hashtag.

Nor has this tendency generally improved; this is clearly evidenced by the recent torrent of Bro slander unleashed against Beto O’Rourke.

It has been so disgusting that I know many people who will not now even say they’re on the left at all. They’ll say only that they are moderates. That is because their revulsion to the psychosis that led Bernie supporters to riot in the streets of Philadelphia during Hillary’s acceptance of the 2016 Democratic Party presidential nomination is so total.

I hope that one day they will heal enough to allow themselves to be brought back around. We need them.

This is the end for Bernie Sanders. His revolution is over, and his foundations are crumbling. Revolution Messaging, his feared social media machine, works for Beto now. Tad Devine is burned up; he was the first witness called at Paul Manafort‘s trial. Bernie’s campaign manager and Trump’s campaign manager were linked inextricably both by fate and Robert Mueller. Chief strategist Jeff Weaver was one of the ones who signed the letter.

It’s over. Time to move on.

This taking of accountability by the mentally stable members of the Sanders campaign will be a big start in restoring strength and unity to the sane center, where the middle class in all nations live.

All of us have known many Bernie supporters who were great people, progressive in the true sense of the word, people who were willing to overlook his lousy resume because they felt the issues he was championing to be so important. In all fairness and sincerity, they were! Income inequality in America really is gigantic. The middle class really is disappearing, we really do need public healthcare, and Norway really does have an excellent system of government- a capitalist one, like every other civilized country in the world.

All of that was valid, and those people who fought for it and still voted for Clinton are honorable, good Americans, just like us. But they have been shouted down by the same people who’ve been trying to shout us down, that noisy, visible, and unruly pack of creatures known as the Bernie Bros.

Those Bros are the ones who revealed the side of Bernie he didn’t want you to see.

The one who said women would prefer to stay home.

The one who said that Planned Parenthood is the establishment.

The one who voted to get lighter prison sentences for rapists.

The one who penned rape fantasy essays in the ’70s.

The list goes on ad nauseum, but one thread remains the same. This is a man who never, ever, in his whole twenty-eight years in the Congress, did a thing to champion black issues, women’s issues, LGBT issues, or really any issues except ones directly concerning white men like him. He also renamed two post offices.

Remember those last set of 2016 Democratic primary debates? Both presidential contenders were fiery, and passionate, which was only to be expected in what had, until that point, been a highly issues- focused and progressively driven primary. But once Bernie started losing, he got out and out rude. Rather than taking the opportunity to renounce the extremities of misogyny committed by his supporters, his performance gave weight to the concern Paul Krugman expressed back then: “Bernie is becoming a Bernie Bro.”

During the debate, Sanders interrupted Clinton again and again, at one point even throwing out a long “excuuuuse me” while wagging his finger. When not interrupting, he sat there smirking and making faces while Clinton spoke. At one point, he was seen muttering a sarcastic “OK.”

Imagine how this would play out in a general election! Imagine how Trump would beat us over the head with this!

We have just finished seeing the end of the Year of the Democratic Woman. Nearly a hundred women across America just won midterm elections. And women have for years now been dragged savagely through the mud by the maniacal supporters of Bernie. If the choice was Trump vs Bernie, how better than to thoroughly demoralize them? What a win-win for Vladimir Putin.

During the election, one of our contributors was told that they hoped she was gang-raped, due to her refusal to support their chosen master. And on the subject of rape, look at what Bernie himself wrote on the subject! Just don’t look right after lunch. They might as well have invited Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby.

Quoth St. Bernard,

“A man goes home and masturbates, to his usual fantasy- A woman tied up, a woman on her knees, a woman abused. A woman enjoys intercourse with her man- as she fantasizes being raped by three men simultaneously.”

“Have you ever looked at the StagManHeroTough magazines on the shelf of your local bookstore? Do you know why the newspaper with the articles like ‘Girl of 12 raped by 14 men’ sell so well? To what in us are they appealing?”

It’s clear Bernie knows to what they are appealing, at any rate, and why not? He always has the answers, to everything!

Watch for the moniker ‘Rape Fantasy Bernie’ to join the ranks of Lyin’ Ted and Little Marco. This is all to say nothing of the other baggage he comes with; the list is so long it’s taken over a dozen articles for this organization even to begin touching it. Here’s a timeline compilation on Bernie’s bull from Medium; if you’ve got three days to spend reading, knock yourself out.

It would be the biggest disaster in the history of the Democratic Party, Nixon vs. McGovern all over again.

We have always known and believed that most of his supporters are not the kind of people to permanently turn a blind eye to all this, and it’s a big relief to see them start asserting their awareness. They should know that they have compromised themselves severely over the years by remaining silent while all this went on for basic political reasons, e.g. they didn’t want to hurt Bernie. They should be commended for finally realizing that in this issue, Bernie has hurt himself and that the topic has needed addressing.

They should be deeply commended for putting this plan into action, and actually writing that letter. Sexual violence. That’s heavy.

Last year, Millennial Democrats addressed it ourselves, when anti-Semitic organizer Linda Sarsour invited Sanders to be the keynote speaker at the Women’s March. There was an outcry over that so huge that Bernie backed out as fast as his legs would carry him so that people would stop talking about this.

The choice of Bernie Sanders was an insult to every woman everywhere.

This year, Chicago won’t have the Women’s March, because they found out what Sarsour really is. Until she is gone, there is no Women’s March. A California Women’s March has been canceled as well, this time because of racial issues that have never been addressed by these rabid supporters of Bernie Sanders.

Just as we wrote last year, we need to Occupy the Women’s March, but that’s another story.

Perhaps after he fails to change, and they come to understand he’s been this way for sixty years and isn’t changing, they’ll make the next logical step, and come back over to our side, where nothing but welcome awaits them.

The next words are for all sane supporters of Bernie Sanders- Come back to us. We will embrace you.

By all means, go ahead with your plan to convert and reform Bernie, and the climate of “sexual violence” that takes place around him. If you succeed, it’s the best thing for America and the human race. Every person who becomes a champion for the rights of women, and everyone else, has done something to promote a better world. This would also mean we get to look forward to hearing him take full public accountability for six decades worth of chauvinism.

He’d better get started.

Our predictions for your success, however, are sadly not very bright. We Democrats have been trying to reason with Bernie for many years, but the kind of guy who said JFK made him nauseous is not likely to align precisely with traditional liberal and progressive goals. If and when he fails to achieve in this, the modest task that is his charge, give us a call.

This is being written on New Year’s Day. 2019 is here, and the halfway point of the Trump presidency will be crossed in just under three weeks. The end is in sight. We need to win next year and rid the country of Donald Trump.

Let us now come together once and for all to pick a leader who can guide us through the storm. And let us realize, once and for all, that Bernie Sanders is not it.

Bernie’s Weak on Gun Issues, Still Hijacks March For Our Lives.

Bernie's presence at this march was a bad joke and insult.

On Saturday, March 24, people from New York to Mumbai took to the streets under the banner titled “March For Our Lives” to protest for stricter gun laws.

The mass demonstrations were instigated by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students, and they got big. In D.C. alone they were joined by an estimated 800,000 people.

These young people, who have experienced gun violence firsthand, want to ensure that no more innocent lives are going to be lost to gun violence, like the shooting experienced at the school on February 14. That’s the only way they can ever bring justice to their murdered friends.

They came to deliver a strong and eloquent message to the large crowd and they did. However, ten days prior, at the nationwide school walkout held on March 14, they were nearly overshadowed by an unexpected and uninvited guest.

Bernie Sanders showed up uninvited, to do some articulating of his own.

The manner in which he conducted himself is astonishing. It even appears that he brought his own cheering section, as the Parkland students specifically did not invite him because of his record on gun control. They are said to be very upset that he crashed their party.

An excellent description the way he conducted himself during the event was found on Twitter by one of our contributors, and we decided it was worth including whole.

Even aside from this revolting display, the casual observer might be tempted to scratch his head. Bernie Sanders? Doesn’t he have a really weak history on gun control legislation? Didn’t he vote against the Brady Act, to implement background checks and waiting periods for gun purchases?

BERNIE SANDERS: “Thank you to the young people throughout this country who are walking out today and who have the courage to do what the United States Congress is not doing: lead us forward to stop the slaughter that we have seen from coast to coast due to gun violence.”

Okay, fine, but- What are YOU doing to lead the stopped slaughter forward, Bernie?

There is a very specific word of caution to make in this article. Just because a cause is worthy doesn’t mean its leaders are good people. In fact, it is often just the opposite. The Parkland students are the cause of these protests and the ones that people came to hear. But they’re not the ones running the organization.

For years, Bernie Sanders has been showing up to take credit for things that aren’t his. This Millennial Democrats contributor remembers people talk endlessly about “Bernie’s dreams” and “Bernie’s ideals” during the 2016 election cycle.

But where is he when it matters? He goes down to Florida to grandstand in front of the kids, but in the past when he has had the chance to vote on a policy to stop something like this from happening again, he was nowhere to be seen.

One example that sticks with me is when the daughter of the Sandy Hook Elementary School principal who was killed during the Newtown massacre, asked Bernie to apologize to the victims for “putting the gun lobby above our families.

Sanders dodged making any sort of apology at all, instead making a lame-duck excuse to the effect that he recognizes his constituents’ preferences, and so does not make gun control a priority.

If you want to know how Bernie feels about guns, look no further than his voting record on the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, a landmark piece of gun control legislation.

The Brady Act mandated that everyone who wanted to buy a handgun had to wait five days while local law enforcement ran criminal background checks; Sanders voted against it numerous times.

He also voted against an amendment that would have ended state waiting periods, while still voting for an amendment giving those denied a gun the right to know why.

The final compromise version of the Brady bill was an interim five-day waiting period while installing an instant background check system; Sanders voted against it.

Bernie took a lot of heat for this during the 2016 election cycle, and he equivocated at every turn, wriggling like a worm on a hook.

That’s just what he did again, last fall, when he hijacked the Women’s March. He knows full well that he has never done a thing for women’s rights, but that didn’t stop him from accepting a chance to be the keynote speaker at last year’s Women’s Convention.

When it was found out what they were pulling, women got so mad, so fast, that Bernie backed out as fast as his legs would carry him.

But he left his proxies behind. And they were quick to announce their intent.

Linda Sarsour, for example, tweeted out late in the primary season that “Bernie had changed her life” along with a picture of her framed with the Sanders family.

There are people in this country who make a living out of protesting everything, and a number of them have shown up to co-opt the efforts of the Parkland students to seek justice and change.

We’ve met them before, of course- they’re the very same people who did this to the Women’s March.

The “March for Our Lives” permit application for D.C. was actually filed by Deena Katz, the co-executive director of the Women’s March Los Angeles Foundation. The application identifies her as the “person in charge” of the event. She is also listed as the president of the “March for Our Lives Fund.”

In this capacity she works right alongside Sarsour, who has made a career out of viciousness and vulgarity.

These are some of the opinions espoused by Ms. Sarsour as collected by the New York Times.

“Nothing is creepier than Zionism,” she wrote in 2012.

From 2015- “You’ll know when you’re living under Shariah law if suddenly all your loans and credit cards become interest-free. Sound nice, doesn’t it?

The March for Our Lives and the Women’s March are too important to sit out just because a few of their organizers are corrupt.

As Democrats, i.e. persons with a conscience, we realize fully how important it is that we be there to stand in support of these crucial issues.

But it’s equally important that we do everything we can to raise awareness as to what is going on. Progressive causes are being co-opted and hijacked all over the country for the use of Bernie Sanders and his devotees, and it is hurting them. The people doing it need to be shut down.

It is the opinion of Millennial Democrats that we’ve got to Occupy those organizations before their current leaders can run the perceived legitimacy of their causes into the ground.

Occupy the Women’s March! Bern-Crazed Leaders Must Go.

#VoteForTruth

A year ago, millions of people turned out for the Women’s March, taking to the streets en masse to protest Trump’s inauguration.

On the one year anniversary of that grotesque event, millions of demonstrators gathered on Saturday in another Women’s March, galvanized by the national resistance to Donald Trump and his administration’s policies.

2017 was a year that saw a deluge of revelations about powerful men abusing women. Ultimately it led to the creation of the #MeToo moment.

The disaster that is Donald Trump has pushed activists across the board to demand deeper social and political change. It is happening. It is spectacular. It’s one of the strongest outpourings of social engagement this nation has ever seen, and it’s a good thing, too. We need this power now more than ever.

There were millions of good people out there this weekend, marching for the rights of women everywhere on Earth. Magnificent. Unfortunately, wherever there is power, there will always be those who seek to divert it toward some partisan purpose.

It is the opinion of Millennial Democrats that to co-opt something so crucial for unsavoury political purposes is just scummy. And make no mistake- that is what they are doing.

The people who are running this Women’s March need to go. It’s as simple as that.

In a column Tuesday bearing the headline “When Progressives Embrace Hate,” New York Times editor Bari Weiss took a close look at the women who organized the effort. The picture thus painted isn’t pretty.

Hate is a strong word, one that should not be thrown around lightly. But the statements and actions collected by the four women— Tamika Mallory, Bob Bland, Carmen Perez and Linda Sarsour—behind the march tell a sad tale.

The article showed Ms Sarsour speaking of women’s issues in the most crude and cruel terms one can imagine. They were worthy of Donald Trump, only he couldn’t do as well. He’s not smart enough.

The comments were utterly vile and do not bear repeating, so we’re not going to repeat them.

Instead, let’s give particular attention to this sentence, drawn from another New York Times article written earlier today.

Progressive women are eager to build on the movement and translate their enthusiasm into electoral victories in this year’s midterm elections.”

Sure enough. Earlier this year, when we found out their 2017 Women’s Convention was going to feature Senator Bernard Sanders at its keynote speaker, we knew what they were up to.

What they want to do is use the momentum they’ve built up at the Women’s Marches to switch the focus from legitimate women’s issues to their chosen candidates at the ballot box.

Those candidates are all to be so-called progressives. Many will be entering politics not to compete with Republicans but to primary out Democrats, which is an old Republican trick by now.

Analysts were quick to note that in so doing, women’s march organizers are following a Tea Party strategy, attacking Obamacare and the president himself to help the Republican Party win control of the House of Representatives in 2010.

“There’s a deliberate attempt by women on the left to take a page out of the same playbook,” said Melissa Deckman, a professor of political science at Washington College who has studied the Tea Party.

Those are Libertarian techniques. The Tea Party arose from the John Birch Society, the centre of radical right politics in America. Their playbook features every dirty trick on the Republican itinerary.

Taking pages from a playbook means you’ve got to have been reading it pretty closely. That’s a big red flag.

We have noted the similarities between the far left and the far right on many occasions here. Their convergence can be seen clearly from the results of the 2016 election. Hillary Clinton said that Bernie Sanders laid the groundwork for Trump’s later “Crooked Hillary” attacks, and she was right.

It seemed strange to have any man be the keynote speaker at a national convention for women, but we’ll leave that aside for now. If that’s what you want, fine.

But can we at least not pick someone whose lurid essays on rape fantasies made us want to vomit? Can we pick someone who isn’t willing to compromise on reproductive rights? Isn’t there somebody around who did not build a literal army of misogynists last year, to constantly attack his female opponent with? Remember when he said she wasn’t qualified to be the president?

The results of our election were compromised by Bernie’s rabid fanaticism. And one of the things he was best at was appealing to the baser instincts of men.

Tamika Mallory, co-founder of Women’s March, thought otherwise.

“I think that right now, no one can deny that Bernie Sanders is probably one of the most powerful U.S. senators … on progressive issues, women’s issues, mobilizing millennials. He is really in line with the principles of the Women’s March,” Mallory said in an exclusive interview Wednesday night.

This point of view can only be described as moronic.

It’s admirable that the organizers of Women’s March are willing to stand up and get involved. It’s also true that no organization or even individual can escape being political, in the wake of Donald Trump. But come on! Bernie Sanders? He’s been on the wrong side of every single issue this year. He did not endorse either of the Democratic governors that started off #TheBlueWave this last November.

That choice was an insult to every woman everywhere, many of whom were dragged savagely through the mud last year by his maniacal supporters. One of our contributors was told that they hoped she was gang-raped, due to her refusal to support their chosen master. And on the subject of rape, look at what Bernie himself wrote on the subject! Just don’t look right after lunch. They might as well have invited Harvey Weinstein.

Women got so mad, so fast, that Bernie backed out as fast as his legs would carry him.

But he left his proxies behind. And they were quick to announce their intent.

Linda Sarsour, for example, tweeted out late in the primary season that “Bernie had changed her life” along with a picture of her framed with the Sanders family.

The aforementioned Tamika Mallory, Women’s March co-president, said at that time she felt Sanders was the perfect fit for the convention, describing him in a statement as a “fierce champion of women’s rights” and someone who has bolstered “female voices throughout his career of public service.”

Bernie has said that Planned Parenthood is the establishment. He says women would prefer to stay home. He penned essays arguing that sexual repression causes cancer in women.

Tamika Mallory’s statement was the absolute height of idiocy. Her invitation to Sanders was a travesty. Feminists nationwide were outraged by it. And they had every right to be.

As usual, our task will be to raise awareness. The magnificent success and noble principles of the Women’s March are being co-opted for the use of Bernie Sanders and the Justice Democrats. We have to let people know.

People aren’t always doing good things for good reasons. It’s important to credit the organizers of the March with the tremendous and crucial successes they scored today.

It’s equally important to realize that they intend to cash in on those successes, to the tremendous and crucial detriment of the country and the Democratic Party.

Going forward, our strategy is simple. We’ve got to Occupy the Women’s March.

No Compromise On Choice, Bernie- Stay Out Of Women’s Convention!

This is our message to Senator Bernard Sanders. Either promise to only support pro- choice candidates, or stay out of our Women’s Convention.

This is only decent, especially given his stance on economic inequality. Anti-choice harms black and other women of color in terms of the most extreme disproportion. Overwhelming data supports this fact. The racial politics of abortion are expressed nobly by Dawn Porter in her film series on the subject. Perhaps if Bernie had watched it, he would not have endorsed Heath Mello last year.

You want equality for all, and yet you’re willing to compromise on an issue proven to harshly affect some of the most at-risk groups of people in the nation? These attempts by Bernie and his defenders to find an excuse for his support of anti-choice Mello (and his abhorrent legislation) in Omaha is appalling, and comes off as desperate.

The fact is, there is not a single person of prominence among the Sanders camp addressing or answering the fact of Bernie openly stating it’s okay to endorse and support anti- choice candidates. None of his supporters, no one from his camp and no one organizing the convention.

Instead of addressing the situation honestly, his supporters are rampaging in comment threads all across the Internet, seeking out pro-Bernie arguments rather than objective information on the issue. It is this mentality that has led to anti-choice legislation mills passing laws that harm women and disproportionately impact communities of color.

Groups of Bernie supporters like the Justice Democrats and the Brand New Congress have taken the unfair and stupid position that real Democrats are corrupt somehow because we value our ability to work with different kinds of people and see value in the great institutions of this country, including great financial institutions such as Wall St.

They have been busy creating a rigorous purity standard to be applied to any politician still in office, and compromising with anyone who doesn’t pass it is enough to make you fail too- except when it comes to abortion rights.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would prevent women from obtaining an abortion beyond the arbitrary marker of 20 weeks of pregnancy. Under the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” medical providers who perform an abortion at or after 20 weeks of pregnancy could face a fine, up to five years in prison, or both.

This bill could result in Black women losing access to abortion services during the most desperate of circumstances.

According to an analysis of a national sample of young women obtaining abortions in 2008, black women, uneducated women, and women who experienced either unemployment or separation from a partner were more likely than others to have a later-term abortion.

Without access to late-term abortions, black women are often forced to carry unwanted pregnancies to term. This tends to be a bad scenario for everyone involved, woman and child and state. It can lead to economic insecurity and poor mental health outcomes for themselves and their families. None of this, however, meant a thing to Heath Mello, Bernie’s choice in the special election for mayor of Omaha, Nebraska, .

Imani Gandy at Rewire gave us the damning list. Mello sponsored a 20-week term limit on abortion in 2010. He voted in favor of eliminating abortion coverage from insurance plans in Nebraska. He voted to ban telemedicine abortion care, which makes abortion less accessible to poor and rural women. For all his good service, Mello was proudly endorsed by Nebraska’s Right to Life in 2010.

The organizers of Women’s March have infuriated women worldwide with this invitation. Even their apology on the matter was tone deaf. In their latest response, they seemed to apologize for having given a man a place of such prominence in their event. Off the mark completely. It’s Bernie’s weak record on women’s rights and his rape fantasies that we object to, not the mere fact of his gender.

Hillary Clinton recently discussed the culture of sexual assault, following media coverage of a plethora of new lurid complaints against Hollywood film producer and longtime Democratic donor, Harvey Weinstein.

In an interview with the U.K.’s Channel 4 News on Saturday, Clinton said:

“Look, we just elected someone who admitted sexual assault to the presidency. So there’s a lot of other issues that are swirling around these kinds of behaviors that need to be addressed,” Clinton said when asked if she had heard rumors of Weinstein’s behavior before the bombshell reports.

“I think it’s important that we stay focused, and shine a bright spotlight, and try to get people to understand how damaging this is,” she continued. That last bit applies to Bernie just as well as Trump.

Remember those last set of debates last summer? Both presidential contenders were fiery, and passionate, which was only to be expected in what was a highly focused and driven primary. But Sanders was out and out rude.

He laughed out loud as she prepared to answer a question on gun control legislation after Sandy Hook. What on Earth is funny about Sandy Hook?

This wasn’t the first time the Sanders campaign showed signs of sexist overtones. Jeff Weaver, Bernie’s head campaign manager, angered many when he complained that Clinton’s “ambition” could tear the Democratic Party apart.

Bernie himself (besides not being a Democrat) was trying to start a revolution. He was also running for President. These are ambitious things to do. The double standard was ludicrous, and typical of sexist relationship dynamics.

Shortly thereafter, in the awful acrimony that was the last month of the primary season, the term “Democratic whores” was used at a campaign rally. Bernie isn’t impervious to valid criticism. But he acted so sure of himself that he didn’t stop to realize how dismissive he came off. He never seems to consider the implications of his rhetoric. There’s always some excuse, like the cheap attempt at red-state pragmatism he tried explaining Mello away with.

If we don’t find a way to make this sink in, then the rape culture that produced Harvey Weinstein and Donald Trump will just keep on keeping on.

Therefore we want to emphasize a specific focus for this piece. We are stressing to event speakers, in the strongest possible terms, the necessity of boycotting this event, if Bernie will not once and for all renounce anti-abortion candidates. He, of all people, ought to appreciate the need for strategic inflexibility on core issues.

This is a core issue for us. We’re not going to compromise on it, and we’re not going to associate with anyone who will. Bernie Sanders must publicly state, with unmistakeable intent, that he will endorse in the future only those candidates with an ironclad respect for the reproductive rights of women. Anyone who will not agree to do that is no friend to our cause. If Senator Sanders wishes to correct the record, we’re all ears. Until then, Bernie, leave our convention alone.

Bernie’s Weak on Women’s Issues- Why Is He Opening the Women’s Convention?

The 2017 Women’s Convention is going to have a keynote speaker this year who doesn’t seem a very good fit- Senator Bernard Sanders, I-VT. It seems strange in the first place, to have any man be the keynote speaker at a national convention for women, but we’ll leave that aside for now. If that’s what you want, fine.

But can we at least not pick someone whose lurid essays on rape fantasies made us want to vomit? Can we pick someone who isn’t willing to compromise on reproductive rights? Isn’t there somebody around who did not build a literal army of misogynists last year? The results of our election were compromised by Bernie’s fanaticism and rabidity. And one of the things he was best at was appealing to the baser instincts of men.

This point of view can only be described as moronic.

It’s admirable that the organizers of Women’s March are willing to stand up and get involved. It’s also true that no organization or even individual can escape being political, in the wake of Donald Trump. But come on! Bernie Sanders?

Why do we need any man, at the head of a Women’s March? Why not Elizabeth Warren? Nancy Pelosi, who along with Chuck Schumer has achieved the sole legislative victories of the Trump administration? Hillary Clinton, for the love of all creation? If you absolutely have to hear from the Sanders wing, then at the very least there’s Tulsi Gabbard. This is a complete disgrace.

Ironically, Hillary Clinton’s words are being employed by the organizers of this event. “Human rights, in other words, are women’s rights.” And yet, her invitation was not even considered, in favor of Bernie Sanders, rape fantasies or no.

The choice of Bernie Sanders is an insult to every woman everywhere, many of whom were dragged savagely through the mud last year by his maniacal supporters. One of our contributors was told that they hoped she was gang-raped, due to her refusal to support their chosen master. And on the subject of rape, look at what Bernie himself wrote on the subject! It’s clear Bernie knows to what they are appealing, at any rate, and why not? He always has the answers, to everything!

But that was a long time ago, his apologists say. He was young. People change.

However, an examination of his political life shows a career-long preoccupation with rape and sexual assault. Katie McDonough at the left-leaning Salon.com compiled a list of measures Sanders has supported or sponsored, in which the legislature’s language placed a disturbing focus on these dark leanings.

And it was just earlier this year that Bernie flew with alacrity across America to Omaha, Nebraska in support of anti-abortion Democratic candidate Heath Mello, who he held an enthusiastic rally for.

Ilyse Hogue, the president of abortion rights advocate NARAL Pro-Choice America, issued a statement blasting Sanders for improperly squandering time and resources campaigning alongside a false Democrat who opposes abortion rights.

“To embrace and support a candidate for office who will strip women – one of the most critical constituencies for the party – of our basic rights and freedom is not only disappointing, it is politically stupid,” Hogue said. No doubt.

Bernie’s defense was an appeal to red-state pragmatism, which given the events of last year is a absurd hilarity.

“The truth is that in some conservative states there will be candidates that are popular candidates who may not agree with me on every issue. I understand it. That’s what politics is about,” Sanders told NPR. ” I think you just can’t exclude people who disagree with us on one issue.”

Democratic activist Amy Stokes Lappos, who describes herself as an “Unapologetic Feminist, mother, survivor, advocate, and Phan”, summed it up wonderfully.

“If we put people in office that do not support a woman’s right to choose it doesn’t matter what party they are- that “one issue”, Bernie, is my fundamental right. THIS is who Women’s March asked to speak at a woman’s convention despite reproductive rights being a core issue to the movement. This is MY issue.”

Bernie says that Planned Parenthood is the establishment. He says women would prefer to stay home. He penned essays arguing that sexual repression causes cancer in women. This invitation is a travesty. Feminists nationwide are outraged by it. And they have every right to be.
