Blue Wave Looms Over Voting Day 2018! Get To The Polls And Vote!

Today is Voting Day! That long-awaited day, the one we’ve all been waiting for. As voting kicks off on the final day of the 2018 midterm cycles, we’ve got a few last thoughts to offer.

Down south, it looks like they’re trying to cheat people. Our prayers go out to all Democrats. A particular prayer seems due for Stacey Abrams of Georgia, the gubernatorial candidate of that fair state; we wish her the best of luck overcoming the dirty tricks of the Republicans and taking her state back to sane decency.

The disgraceful conduct of the Republicans will color their names for all time.

This Millennial Democrats contributor voted yesterday. A straight blue ticket! A drop of blue water to a strong Blue Wave. It was a beautiful moment for me. I have been waiting for this every single day since November 8 of 2016. I have lived for it. We are going to take back the House and save our country- and we are going to do it today!

Even one branch of Congress will be enough for us to stymie every evil thing they try to do. Forget about Trump getting anything else past legislature. He’ll be stuck in his chair from that point on. The Blue Wave’s Crest is towering over him as we speak. He is in its shadow.

For all of you who might see this at the last minute- If you are stuck at home today. If you’re too sick. If you’re too busy- Please take advantages of resources designed to help you get to those polls! Your country needs you, your people need you, your planet needs you!

EVERYTHING we have been doing here for all this time is pointless if we don’t make it into those booths.

Now, Millennial Democrats! Today is that day! Let’s get out there and vote!

See you at the booths!!

Democrats Rally in State Elections, Preparing to Sweep 2018.

Tomorrow, on November 7, Millennial Democrats will be joining our mentors from prior generations in participating fully in these crucial, yet oft-neglected elections. It has all the makings of a very big day.

Many of us, including the editor of Millennial Democrats, had never before voted in an off-year election or even thought much about them. Barack Obama chided us for this recently, and we have heard him. We won’t make that mistake this year.

2016 has become the race that never ends. When Trump won, nobody went back to sleep. Things never returned to business as usual.

The country has realized it has made a mistake.

As a result, this year, people are paying very close attention.

The APA has been conducting its Stress in America poll every year since 2007. The most recent provided an upsetting commentary on our collective state of mind. It found that 63 percent of Americans currently feel that the future of the country is a very significant source of stress in their lives.

59 percent of us said this is the “lowest point in our nation’s history that they can remember.”

People are in pain. They see confusion all around them. Economic challenges are getting worse. Disinformation and frustration have both taken a toll. We are going through it with everybody else because we are everybody else. However, it is precisely this shared sorrow that will allow us to make our voices heard.

Democrats have a plan. We have specifics. They’re all right there in that most progressive of documents, the 2016 Presidential Democratic Party Platform. We have continued to provide a sane and decent alternative to an increasingly messy ordeal. We will keep our noses to the grind and refuse to give in. And eventually, we will succeed.

We are coming together. We are going to start taking back our country from the cannibal Republicans who have stolen it. Here are the people we are rallying behind.

This off-year election will feature gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey. It will feature as well state legislative elections in both houses of the New Jersey Legislature and in the lower house of the Virginia legislature.

Five Special elections to the United States House of Representatives have already taken place this year. One other House seat and one other Senate seat still have yet to be filled. Numerous mayoral races and a variety of other local elections will be taking place as well.

As of September 27, Democrats have picked up a total of eight Republican-held seats as a result of special elections from New York, New Hampshire, and Oklahoma.

This combined with how close we came to winning last year in districts considered to be unwinnable by any Democrat suggests strongly that we’ve got everything it takes in 2018 to overcome the large mathematical disadvantages peculiar to this year’s electoral map.

Take the Jon Ossoff- Karen Handel race last spring. Georgia’s Sixth District has been red since 1979.  We came within a hair of taking it. $23 million was raised for that race.

Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe is sadly leaving office due to term restrictions. He was an excellent governor who consistently earned high marks on Virginia’s economy. He also, unlike the president, spoke out strongly against the mayhem in Charlottesville over the summer that led to the senseless murder of Heather Heyer by a mutated mongrel, a nameless Nazi pig.
The race to replace him, however, has focused not on the economy, but rather on a continuation of 2016. It has essentially been a proxy war between the two competing parties, which has typified every race since November 9th of last year. Hard to believe it’s been a year already. It all feels like the same long month. Trump has cast his big orange shadow over everything.
According to the final poll from Christopher Newport University being released before the election, Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam held a solid and persistent advantage over his Republican opponent Ed Gillespie as of this morning and is considered the favorite.
Meanwhile, in New Jersey, outgoing Republican Gov. Chris Christie has had a rough time since Bridgegate with the public. He neglected the state and its people in order to help out Trump. But Trump used and discarded him like Kleenex after the transitioning to the White House was done.
These are just a few of the reasons that record-low approval ratings hover mightily over the contest to replace him. Christie is a prototypical example of what lies in wait for politicians who signed on with Donald Trump during this horrible time in our history. They’ll all get to have a taste of what is being done to Colin Kaepernick. See how they like being blacklisted.
His lieutenant governor, Republican candidate Kim Guadagno, has tried to distance herself from Christie’s disasters, but the odds of this are not very good. Former US Ambassador to Germany Phil Murphy, the Democratic nominee, has led consistently in the polls, spending tens of millions of dollars out of pocket on the race. At this point, a Murphy loss would be a shocking upset.
Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio is also expected to cruise to reelection.  Republican Nicole Malliotakis and two third-party candidates who lost the Democratic primary are about as second-rate as it gets. Perhaps after they lose, Trump will find Cabinet jobs for them.
Former Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz joined the earliest members of the GOP who could not stand the zoo anymore and retired mid-term, citing that it was “Time to get off the gravy train”. This was big for us. Upon leaving Chaffetz vacated the gavel of the House’s oversight committee. That’s a position of power that we might now possibly take.
It does have to be realized that this seat is in a solid red, reliably Republican district of Utah. Provo Mayor John Curtis, the Republican candidate, is favored to win against Democratic candidate Kathie Allen, but there’s every reason to hope for an upset, especially with Russiagate reaching epic proportions by the day now.

Today, we’re going to be doing every last thing we can think of to help our people, wherever they may be. Sharing articles, hitting threads, making phone calls.

Yesterday evening, Democratic candidate Ralph Northam released a report proving that Russian bots have been interfering in their race on his opponent Ed Gillespie’s behalf just as they did for Trump last year. No way are we going to let those people go into a fight alone. We have to back him up, and we’ve got to do it now.

This is Election Week. Tomorrow is our day. We have got to win tomorrow everywhere else we have a chance. We need those Governor’s Mansions. That is where our attention is needed, and that is where we’re going to put it. Our work is cut out for us.

Today, we will do everything we can think of to give our support and love to Ralph Northam of Virginia, Bill de Blasio of New York City, and all of the other brave people who have stood up to be our leaders. We have come to a time when we need good leaders more than ever. We will stand by them, and our hearts are with them. Now, let’s hit these phones and threads!!!!!!!!!

Donna Brazile and a Fat Book Deal- Democrats Hit Back Hard.

The exaggerated and opportunistic claims about the 2016 Presidential campaign made by former DNC chairperson Donna Brazile last week rank among the most brazen, shameless, ham-handed attempts at self-promotion in the history of literary contracts.

It really leaves you flabbergasted. A book deal is that important? A few extra bucks, when you’re already loaded? Getting your name in the history books for the most rotten imaginable reason? Dante reserved the lowest level of hell for traitors.

Elizabeth Warren’s defection hurts too, of course, but that’s been waiting a long time to happen. She was a staunch Republican for many years.

She was the one the fake left wanted to hamstring Hillary Clinton with originally; Bernie was their stand-in. They called the campaign Run, Warren, Run. The reference is to the mentally handicapped Forrest Gump, and that’s about how smart the plan was. She didn’t bite, back then. Too bad about this time.

It’s always sad, to see someone sell their own people down the river.
We would like to thank Donna Brazile for the years of service that she gave to the Democratic Party. We are saddened and shocked beyond words at her slanders, and at her betrayal. And yet, she will be missed.
The Brazile bone was thrown to get Democrats squabbling over last year, rather than focus on what’s going on right now- the biggest week in the Russiagate scandal so far. This is a continuation of the Uranium One strategy from last week. It was done in order to divert attention from a number of other events taking place now, events with actual significance.
This is what they do when they need to use deflection. They manage, in one way or the next, to push a button they know will cause internal strife among the left.
Millennial Democrats cannot help but wonder- How bad is it, on the Bernie side? Do they realize this is being done to hurt them as well as us, this trumping up of public records as scandals on Hillary Clinton?
It’s like when they made a big show out of announcing that Jane Sanders was being investigated by the FBI for fraud relating to her tenure as president of Vermont’s Burlington College. It was unfair, and it was not new. It had been an ongoing story for months.
But they brought it back up when they found it convenient and threw it at us like a bone among dogs in the hopes that we’d start in on each other. That’s what’s going on today. It’s an attempt at distraction, and they have got a lot to distract us from.

It’s a shame that people are greedy, and it’s also a shame they are gullible. But what can you do? Human beings have been selling each other out and doing each other dirty, since before we were even human beings. We’re learning. In the meantime, we can’t get mired down in the people who have stabbed us in the back. That’s why they did it. To slow us down long enough to bleed out.

The way the conservative media tells the story, things have reached the point now who you voted for in the primary is more important than anything else. It’s the fight that never ends. The fascists love it, of course.

Remember the #TrumpWon hashtag promoted by 4chan last summer? It featured a whole slew of tricks they were planning, including one that said- “Wouldn’t it be great, if we could get all the libtards fighting with each other, using our hashtag?”

2016 was 2016. We’re a month away from 2018. We either get ourselves together now or suffer. For however long it takes.

Malcolm Nance summed it up best today when he said that rehashing this again does nothing but to split the Democratic Party in half, and it gives Trump eight more years in office. What an atrocity of a waste that would be. What a stupid and absolute waste. The way things are looking now, we’re all going to be arguing Bernie vs Hillary together. On the bus to a concentration camp.

The Brazile claims amount to nothing more than a new batch of Hillary’s emails.

In a nutshell, they tell us that the DNC was broke and that Hillary Clinton paid out of pocket for the Democrats to have a candidate at all. What a foul and unspeakable crime! How dare we oppose a maniac, as he tries to take over the country?

Here are the facts, as laid out in a memorandum of understanding from August 26, 2015. Note that once again, not a bit of this is news or something that was covered up. It has been public record all the while.

The Democratic National Committee struck a deal with Hillary Clinton in 2015 that gave her campaign input on some party hiring and spending decisions, but required they be related only to preparations for the general election, according to a memo obtained by NBC News. It also left the door open for other candidates to make similar arrangements.

Both the Clinton and Sanders campaigns signed agreements that allowed the presidential candidates to raise money for the DNC.
The agreements came at a time when the Democratic committee was at the end of its financial rope. President Barack Obama had left the DNC penniless and in debt. When Debbie Wasserman- Schultz approached the campaigns around Labor Day of 2015, the DNC needed the joint fundraising agreements to stay operational and out of more debt. There would not have been a campaign at all if not for HRC.
In exchange for Hillary for America’s assistance raising money for the DNC, the party committee agreed “that HFA personnel will be consulted and have joint authority over strategic decisions over the staffing, budget, expenditures, and general election-related communications.”
The memo made clear that the arrangement pertained to only the general election, not the primary season.
It is only logical to secure some say in what is being done with your money. Especially if you yourself have one of the most acutely strategical political minds in the world.

The DNC maintained “the authority to make the final decision” on senior staff in the communications, technology and research departments.

The memo stipulates the DNC had to hire a communications director by September 11, 2015. But  It also left open the possibility that it would sign similar agreements with other candidates.

“Nothing in this agreement shall be construed to violate the DNC’s obligation of impartiality and neutrality through the Nominating process. All activities performed under this agreement will be focused exclusively on preparations for the General Election and not the Democratic Primary,” the memo states.

“Further we understand you may enter into similar agreements with other candidates,” it continues. Bernie was asked to do the same thing. He just didn’t have any money.

This is yet another recent case of Donald Trump trying to turn us against each other and divert us from focusing fully on the relentless Robert Mueller and how close he is to Trump’s jugular.

Moving forward, we have got to stay focused. More than a hundred of HRC’s old staffers have spoken out against the revolting and unfair description of the campaign. It’s clear to most already that Donna Brazile is just a thirsty self-promoter.

Attacking HRC may appear politically expedient now, but that will only last a day. Popularity in the public eye is fickle, but a backstabber is never forgotten- and never trusted again. Furthermore, there is outrage over this like nothing we’ve seen since Bernie was scheduled to speak at the Women’s Convention.

This evening, Democratic candidate Ralph Northam released a report proving that Russian bots have been interfering in their race on his opponent Ed Gillespie’s behalf just as they did for Trump last year. We have to back him up, and we’ve got to do it now.

This is Election Week. We have got to win back the Virginia Governorship. We need a win. That is where our attention is needed this week, and that is where we’re going to put it. See you in the trenches.

Spared from the Shutdown- Democrats Save The Day!

Democrats won a gigantic victory Wednesday.  By convincing the president to adopt our government funding plans, we spared the government from a long-threatened shutdown to take place over lack of support for Trump’s border wall funding.  At a time when Hurricane Harvey just ended, Hurricane Irma is smashing the Caribbeans on its way to Florida, and Hurricanes Katia and Jose are forming right behind her out on the ocean, putting partisan politics aside was necessary to save the country. It’s in the nature of Democrats, to plan for the sake of the nation.

For Republicans on Capitol Hill, however, Trump’s decision has had a very different effect. It has badly upended negotiations in a variety of policy areas they consider crucial in the fall.

And the GOP is said to be livid, that master negotiator Donald Trump, took the first offer Democrats put on the table.

Trump even overruled his own Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, to concur with “Chuck and Nancy,” as he later called them on Air Force One. For once, it seems that everyone agrees on at least this much- that the president’s willingness to toady up to anyone willing to pat him on the head, is pathetic.

Even if it happened to work out for us all this time, it’s just another sign of the tendencies that have done him in all along, helping him to make decisions such as hiring Steve Bannon or withdrawing from the DACA program. ”

The key thing for now, though, is that provisions extending government funding and the debt limit through mid-December were passed by the House on Wednesday to provide $7.85 billion in Hurricane Harvey relief.

This is a good sign. Trump has been distancing himself from the party he conquered anyway. He views McConnell and Ryan as disloyal and weak, and has realized they’re not going to get anything done together. While Trump is a limited and small minded man, he is not without a certain animal cunning. It would seem he is in the process of coming to a realization. Insane or not, he must break with the useless Republicans.

For Donald Trump to receive anything but sheer disgust from everyone, if he wants even the merest semblance of the popularity he has always so desperately craved, there is only one way forward. He must accept and adopt the only plans for the country that make sense- the ones outlined by the 2016 Democratic Party Platform.

In the meantime, things are moving right along with the Mueller investigation. Trump Jr., Donald’s oldest son, will be testifying privately to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, as to exactly what he knows about Russian interference in our election last year. In July, he blurted out an admission that he’d gone to a June 2016 meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer, at which he was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton.

In addition, Facebook handed over data to Mueller on Wednesday also, regarding a Russian operation last year that paid to put out thousands of U.S. ads promoting divisive social and political messages in a two-year-period through May 2016, just before the primary ended.

A representative for Facebook said Wednesday that there were connections between the ads creating rifts between Democrats last year and a Russian “troll factory” in St. Petersburg, a sort of paid-per-comment deal where employees went trolling on Facebook.

Any social activist who was fighting for Hillary Clinton during the primary and after last year, can guarantee you categorically that those bots were very real.

Representative Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, called the Facebook report “deeply disturbing and yet fully consistent with the unclassified assessment of the intelligence community. We are keenly interested in Russia’s use of social media platforms, both the use of bots and trolls to spread disinformation and propaganda,” he said in a statement.

Small wonder, seeing what a catastrophic effect it all had on last year’s election. The public is now acutely aware of the proliferation of overseas members from such places as Albania and Macedonia, that overwhelmed the Bernie Sanders social media world, with false and incendiary “news” designed to make Hillary Clinton an unacceptable option in the 2016 general election. This is confirmed by multiple sources.

Whatever its cause, the election of Donald Trump is the greatest political disaster our country has ever faced. We have lived through just under nine months now of total pandemonium. The very fact of a government shutdown even being mentioned, during a week in which four hurricanes have wreaked havoc, is unsettling in the extreme.

Tempting as it might have been to politicize Harvey and leave Trump to a well-deserved fate, we didn’t do that. We stepped up with magnanimity, and did what was best for America. It is the opinion of Millennial Democrats that our Democratic senators are heroes. We are very proud of them, and we are very lucky to have them.

This incident provides the public with further proof that Democrats are the only ones with viable plans for the future. We are grounded in reality and decency both. While Mueller finishes the process of finishing Trump’s crooked presidency off, and the Republicans enjoy their final meltdown, we Democrats have been busy. We have now proven that we can succeed in passing plans through that will maintain this country during the interim, even under the worst possible conditions. We’ve got a sane and reasonable alternative to offer the people of America, and they are starting to see it. Starting now, we are taking back our country.
