Joe Biden Is A Good Man, Supporter of Bernie’s Slanders Does Not Change That.

Joe Biden is a good man.

When the news broke last week about Joe Biden being set on by far-left wolves over a hug, I’d have given my kingdom for a good strategy. Something like this is impossible to manage pleasantly. On the one hand, we’ve just seen the last of 2018, the Year of the Democratic Woman. The #MeToo movement won the Person of the Year award. On the other hand, Biden didn’t really do anything!

We have got to show the world we can perceive the difference between a legitimate sexual assault and-

Well, whatever this is.

For the record, at Millennial Democrats, we understand that it is very important that women be believed when they come forward with their stories.

For anyone who doesn’t understand the history behind that, it goes back to many decades, if not centuries, worth of female oppression. Symbolic of the situation were the countless rape trials in which the victim was put on trial far more than the man was, and that’s what we can never go back to. How many sexual partners has she had, how short was her skirt, et cetera. It was a sickening state of affairs, and no mistake.

Seeing rape culture wiped like the stain it is from human society is our goal, and we will fight for it with all we’ve got. #MeToo is significant, and it deserves our support.

That is why it has been all the more dismaying to see it weaponized, by the same callous right-wingers who built and have perpetuated American rape culture in the first place.

For make no mistake, this is just a hit job on the man most likely to be the next President of the United States of America- Joe Biden.

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. has been here for us for a long time. He served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. Like us, he is a member of the Democratic Party. He represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009. He has made presidential runs before but ultimately ended up as Barack Obama’s right hand man instead, in 2008 and again in 2012.

Biden is a good man who has given his life in the service of the United States of America, and well worth supporting if he should end up being the candidate. As an aside, this article does not imply an endorsement at this time. It’s too early. But if, in the end, it is Biden, I’ll be very proud to stand behind his decades of expertise and experience.

Recently, a Bernie Sanders supporter named Lucy Flores accused Joe Biden of having given her- wait for it-

A hug.

I’ll respectfully pause here so that you can finish your horrified gasp.

Flores has not actually gone so far as to label this hug a “sexual assault” this week, claiming the hug was given on the campaign trail when she was running for Vermont lieutenant governor back in 2014.

That’s good, because even as it is, the amount of anti-Biden hatred being shouted around by Bernie’s crazy supporters is a disgrace. Making this appear to be a sexual assault, and acting outraged as though it were, is an insult to the legitimate struggles of everyone who has ever been sexually assaulted for real, from the beginning of time until now.

It is an absolutely rotten thing that this woman is doing, turning #MeToo into a poisoned dart, so much so that even her fellow residents of Bernieverse could not stay silent this time.

Tezlyn Figaro, who worked with Flores at Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) organization Our Revolution, has similarly felt compelled to speak out on Flores. From what it sounds like, she didn’t leave the best impression on her. She explained on “Fox & Friends” why she filed an EEOC complaint against her and why Biden should know his accuser is a “fraud” and a “racist”.

“You know, Vice President Joe Biden, if you are listening, you should know that Lucy Flores is a fraud,” Figaro said.

Tezlyn Figaro@TezlynFigaro
@morningmika U were right when you said shouldn’t we question political motives? Today I exposed the EEOC claim that I filed LAST year about Lucy’s retaliation efforts. After Lucy’s long history of schemes I am t/ONLY one that took legal action to fight back! @JoeNBC
Tezlyn Figaro@TezlynFigaro

#LucyFlores EXPOSED! This am on #FoxNews I EXPOSED the truth (backed up with the EEOC claim that I filed in August 2018) about #LucyFlores previous retaliation schemes. If everyone believes women then believe me when I say #LucyBLying #JoeShouldKnow #FraudAlert @JoeBiden @BillR

A lying Bernie Bot going for a Republican-style ratf*ck- Is this really still a shock to anyone?

We know Joe Biden! He is a good man, he has been a dedicated public servant. He has given his whole life in the service of this country. Are we really going to pretend like it’s okay to wipe that out over a hug? Never!

This is getting to the point of being a complete disgrace, just like it was when Roger Stone got Leeann Tweeden-a Fox News radio show host, no less- to try and call #MeToo on then-Minnesota senator Al Franken over an old picture taken on a comedy tour back in 2003 when the Iraq War was going on.

Franken resigned, too, and in my view, that was a big mistake. We needed him, we needed his voice, we needed his loyalty. They’ve been aiming to fell with snipers all the good Democrats they can, because they know we’re always going to be the ones in the way of their evil, wicked plans. At least we got Amy Klobuchar out of the deal, but still.

Tom Perez at the DNC summed it up the best. “People will judge Joe Biden by his lifetime of service,” he said excellently.

Do not buy in, America! We’ve got a guy on one hand who has treated women in a kind, gentle, and affectionate manner, and another guy who openly boasts of sexually molesting them, of using their private parts as something he can grab (to say nothing of Rape Fantasy Bernie)! Let’s make it clear to the world we can see the distinction.

Bernie Sanders Hires Lineup Of Hitmen to Ruin Democratic Primary-No New Tricks For This Old Dog.

Here at Millennial Democrats, we’re not the type to rip somebody up just because they’re old, even if that someone is Bernie Sanders. Ageism sucks.

This article won’t be about making fun of Bernie’s failure to navigate a shower door correctly (forget about the White House, though) because he busted his head open on it the other day. That would be mean.

Unlike the brats in the Democratic Socialists of America or the so-called Justice Democrats, we venerate our elders. We enjoy learning from them, we listen to what they have to say, and we will do whatever it takes to secure their legacy.

Still and all, though, we have to admit one thing, at least in the case of Bernie Sanders.

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

This was the first thing that crossed my mind the other day during midterms when I first heard that Bernie hired a “Political Hit Man”, David Sirota, to target Joe Biden, the former Vice President of the United States, and a man vastly more likely to face Donald Trump in eighteen months than Bernie is.

Sirota is a Young Turks contributor, like former Justice Democrat Cenk Uygur (who was kicked out of that organization for writing sexually perverse essays). He has made a career out of ripping up Democrats, every chance he gets.

Here we go again. This is going to be the ugliest primary in the history of American politics.

This week Sirota announced to his email friends that he had accepted a job as senior adviser and speechwriter for the presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). After taking the job, he spent his day deleting over twenty thousand tweets that looked like this one.

Bernie's new hitman David Sirota, doing what he does, ripping up good Democrats.
Bernie’s new hitman David Sirota, doing what he does, ripping up good Democrats.

Although he blatantly lied and said the opposite, Sirota for some time has been ramping up to his joining of the Sanders campaign.

Edward-Isaac Dovere of the Atlantic gives us the story under the headline, “Bernie Sanders Just Hired His Twitter Attack Dog”.

Since December, David Sirota has, on Twitter, on his own website, and in columns in The Guardian, been trashing most of Sanders’s Democratic opponents — all without disclosing his work with Sanders — and has been pushing back on critics by saying that he was criticizing the other Democrats as a journalist. He centered many of his attacks on Beto O’Rourke, but he also bashed Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Joe Biden, Kirsten Gillibrand, Michael Bennet, John Hickenlooper, Mike Bloomberg, and even Andrew Cuomo.

Great.

Now, the interesting thing is that Sirota, who has more than a hundred thousand Twitter followers, immediately spent his day deleting over twenty thousand tweets that show him ripping up Democrats who have disagreed with him. He took the day off work for that, and then deflected attention by saying it was really so he could care for his “sick child”.

Did he mean the Sanders campaign? “Sick child” seems to work.

Sirota is both not the first and not the most recent of the hitmen assembled by Bernie, who together will comprise one of the ugliest lineups of vicious political thugs and banshees ever assembled in the history of all the world, let alone the Democratic Party. Fake-left Glenn Greenwald’s The Intercept’s Briahna Joy Grey was also just hired on as the new press secretary for Bernie 2020 should signal to everyone what’s going on here.

Gray’s old tweets on Russian election interference have garnered negative attention, on social media and elsewhere. In one such tweet from September 2016, Gray said, “@realDonaldTrump is right. The dems pushed the ‘Russia did the hacking’ angle b/c it was politically advantageous for them. #debatenight.”

Unbelievable.

We can look at Nina Turner for another example. Bernie’s got her playing the role of a campaign co-chair. What does that say? She told all of her supporters to vote for Jill Stein in the end and did so herself, citing her extreme hatred of Hillary Clinton as the reason why.

But strangely, here’s that very same Nina Turner, asking if we’re “Ready for Hillary 2016” on Twitter!

Nina wanted a job with Hillary’s campaign. She wanted to be a top adviser and got turned down for the position. She was, in the parlance of our times, rather butthurt.

After being refused, Turner made a high-profile defection to the Sanders campaign.

Once he lost, Turner refused to support Clinton and eventually voted for Jill Stein in the 2016 contest. She said the Democratic Party may be so “corporate” that it is no longer useful. Her presence on Team Sanders signaled Bernie’s intention to get ugly, right out of the gate. They were always going to be firing their big guns at us (and not the Republicans, as always). But now with Sirota and Grey on his team, we need to understand that they have already fixed their bayonets.

Although he went around telling everyone he wasn’t going to let things get so nasty this time around, Bernie is going to go for our vitals again, just as much as he did in 2016. The difference is that he’ll be far better organized and have far more ability to rip and gouge the Democratic Party, which is his purpose in life.

Sanders’s popularity polls have drastically plummeted. He cannot win, and he knows it. But he can do damage, though, and plenty of it. His machine has been targeting rising star Beto O’Rourke for months now. Earlier this week, Beto out-fundraised Bernie in one day after making his announcement, and Sirota was on it immediately, portraying O’Rourke as the puppet of big oil and gas companies, reviling him for taking oil money.

O’Rourke had not taken a single dime from the oil and gas industry, yet Sirota claimed he was “the #2 recipient of oil/gas industry campaign cash”.

The radical left does not care which candidate might have the best chance of beating Trump in the end. They don’t care about the Democratic Party, except insofar as Bernie can grab it like a hermit crab shell and ride it to the Presidency.

If Bernie cannot have it, they would prefer Trump.

Going forward, we’ve got to get the word out and raise awareness on what absolute jackals Bernie Sanders has hired to do his dirty work. #NeverBernie. Hold on to your hats, folks, because it’s going to be a wild ride.

The Sarah Palin Of The Left- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Is No One’s Face But Her Own.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Is No One's Face But Her Own.

It is not without a sense of disappointment that we recognize the newly famous Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Democratic Socialist and ideological successor of Bernie Sanders, has decided to be a liability. We’ve written highly of her in the past. She had some good points to make, but in the process of trying to make them, she has gotten in her own way badly, and in everyone else’s way, too. She has endeavored to make herself a nuisance in every way she can, and the Republicans, of course, are completely overjoyed.

At last, they’ve got someone tangible to point at and yell “See? See? We told you they all were socialists! We told you they all were crazy! That right there is the face of the Democratic Party!”

Let us be blunt and unequivocal- Ocasio-Cortez is far from the face of our party. Very far. We’re not socialists at all. We’re the ones on the front lines of the battle against socialism. The Republicans are the ones who incite and encourage the socialists, in order to disrupt and uncoordinate Democrats. That’s why Donald Trump sided with Bernie Sanders in 2016.

Our thoughts were that she should be given a chance, even though most things about her were far-left and radical. Ocasio came into all our lives by primarying out one of the best guys we had in Joe Crowley, which of course is horrible, and she’s a Democratic Socialist, which is to say, an extremely confused socialist. But even so, we gave her a chance. We congratulated her on her victory, we wrote an article giving her the proper respect she has earned. She ran a heck of a campaign, by every metric, and she is, after all, a Millennial Democrat. We did our best to keep an open mind.

Who knows, we said. Maybe she won’t turn out to be so bad. She does seem smart enough. Maybe she is. Let’s reserve judgment for the time being.

Then she opened her mouth.

Conservative news and opinion site The Daily Caller ran a contest over it. “Vote On The Dumbest Thing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Has Said So Far.”

Now, this hurt us, because all of us are Democrats, and we all want the same kinds of things. We need our allies and our bright minds. Although her wing of the left and ours are often rivals, we are not enemies, and it brings no joy to report on her failings. But we all need to show discipline, represent ourselves to advantage, and realize that whatever we say will reflect on the Democratic Party as a whole.

Ocasio-Cortez is not getting that. And that Daily Caller article ate it up.

They showed her doing an interview with MSNBC’s fantastic Joy Reid, who has had her own problems with the far left. It yielded some remarks that can only be described as gems.

“Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs. Unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their family.”

Politifact ruled in on this one right away. “Americans aren’t working more today than they have been in the recent past. The average number of hours worked in the private sector has hugged tightly to about 34.5 hours a week since 2006, except for a dip during the Great Recession.”

In the very same Joy Reid interview, she blasted this out too, when she said she was in favor of an assault-weapons ban.

“I think that many members of our military need to go through years of training in order to have access to these weapons, and the idea that a 17-year-old can walk into a shop and get one, I think, is unacceptable.”

Seventeen? Federal law prohibits anybody under the age of 18 from legally buying guns, automatic or otherwise.

Around the same time, she appeared on the reboot of Firing Line. Conservative host Margaret Hoover asked her to explain her stance on Israel. The question left Ocasio-Cortez completely baffled. She began to talk about things that don’t exist, like the Israeli “Occupation of Palestine.”

Hoover pounced. “Would you like to expand on that?” she said with utter glee.

“I’m no expert on geopolitics,” said Ocasio-Cortez. Well, if that is the case, then what in God’s holy name are you doing in the government of a global superpower? This kind of thing is really a disgrace. If you don’t have the tools for the job, don’t apply for it.

“We’re gonna flip this seat red in November,”, she said in July during a rally.

Jesus God.

Good thing for her it was the Year of the Democratic Woman.

The first time I heard someone use the term “Sarah Palin of the left”, it was in passing. Sarah Palin, of course, was the infamous 2008 running mate of Republican John McCain, then-governor of Alaska who liked to talk and quickly became a superstar- until she put her foot in her mouth, and kept it there.

I was walking down the hallway of the local library, and I heard a group of people laughing and pointing at a picture. “She’s the Sarah Palin of the left,” said one woman. “That’s the face of the Democratic Party now, guys!” yelled another man present, joyfully.

The face on the screen, of course, was that of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The headline was from RealClear Politics, and it pleaded our case eloquently.

Lieberman: If Ocasio-Cortez Is “The New Face of The Democratic Party,” Party Doesn’t Have “Bright Future”

No doubt. We might not have a future at all, if that’s the face of the party. What a mess, I thought. What a total and complete disaster.

A while back, we did an article about a guy named Don Blankenship, a major felon whose greed and sloven got twenty-nine people killed in a tragic mining accident. He was running for Joe Manchin’s Senate seat in West Virginia, so we were all for him. “Too Far Right”, it was called. “Why It’s Best When the GOP Nominates Their Worst.”

Obviously, it’s good for us when the true face of the Republican Party is revealed by people who are just like that. Corrupt, arrogant, and sloppy.

Just like it’s good for them when our candidates are uneducated, radical, and prone to making constant ridiculous blunders.

In America, you can’t be the President if you’re not at least thirty-five, and this is because all three of those traits, so deadly for a good politician, accompany youth all but exclusively. So it only stands to reason that people are given a certain amount of time to reach maturity and correct those youthful errors. Unfortunately, there is no such law protecting the House of Representatives. So here we are.

For the last several decades, Republican politicians have moved steadily further right, and never has this been so true as now. Candidates of heightening extremity dominate the GOP playing field. They are nominating the wrong candidates all over the country, such as ex-convict Blankenship in West Virginia.

After the election of our 45th President, the strategy of many Republican politicians has depended a great deal on how deeply they can demonstrate their adherence to his destructive policies. The growing trend of Republican extremity has become troubling in the extreme. This has backfired on them badly. The Blue Wave all but knocked them out of the ballpark, which is how Ocasio managed to win her election. If she were in middle America, she’d have been driven across the state line.

This has tempted some on the left to respond with extremity in kind, and that is very dangerous. With every step we take away from the center, the closer we come to getting ripped loose at the moorings as a country. We’ve already had one Civil War. We have to find a way to come back to reason before it is too late.

The likes of Bernie Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez are, to put it mildly, not helping.

Even if you put aside their socialism and their adherence to radical policies that make no sense like Medicare for All, neither Sanders nor Ocasio-Cortez are good candidates, because they do not have the resume. They don’t have records of getting things done, although at least in Ocasio’s case it’s because she has had no career. As recently as last year, she was still working as a bartender, but she’s sure got a lot to say about- well, just about everything..

While there is certainly a lot to admire about a person who can make a good cocktail, when it comes time to pick who’s in the Congress, I’ll take the geopolitical expert every time. All things considered, it becomes all too clear that socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a big mistake on the part of New York’s 14th District. We can help the people who live there by raising awareness on all this so that they will correct it.

A Great Primary For The Democratic Party-Congress Braces for Blue Wave!

I Voted!

June 5, 2018, the “Super Tuesday” of the 2018 primary election cycle, was a great day for the Democratic Party.

The Blue Wave is gathering more momentum than ever, as our battle for control of Congress saw us pave the way for retaking the House of Representatives in several impassioned struggles to retake House seats in California and New Jersey.

Democrats also claimed victory in a Missouri state Senate seat Tuesday in our 42nd red-to-blue since Donald Trump took office.

There were also revealing elections in the Midwest and the South, underscoring the depth of Trump’s corrupting of the Republican Party and the different ways Democratic strategists intend to break their grip on red-state America.

Democratic women continued taking America by storm; it could not be more clear that 2018 is the year of the Democratic woman! After Hillary Clinton was cheated out of her rightful place in the White House, we needed leaders, and we got them. We are very proud of them.

The primaries, which took place in states all over the country, also underscored once and for all the defeat of the Bernie Sanders wing of the party. They’re done.

The New York Times said this morning that the results in yesterday’s primaries were a big win for the Democratic Party at the expense of the extreme left, and that pretty much says it all. They put up a good fight a few times, we’d like to congratulate them on that, and now it is time to move on. We need each other.

A big part of these victories came down to due diligence. Democrats have been working very hard, every single day, ever since the 2016 elections came to their catastrophic end. We dug our foxholes deeply, and we shored up our trenches well. We were ready for this.

All along, we’ve been concentrating our efforts on the construction of both devices and teams to run them. This serves the purpose of strengthening the larger Democratic coalition. Incidentally, this is how and why Millennial Democrats was born.

The goal is to get people to understand that they’ve got family ties with the other members of this resistance. We have fought a war together. We have worked hard to get out our message and to create teams capable of disseminating solid information.

Last night we proved what we can do when we all work together, by succeeding admirably in that goal in races all over the nation.

Democrats don’t need fake news. The real facts are universally in our favor. All we have to do is raise awareness. We have good answers to tough problems and have all along. We have a fantastic, progressive platform, and we have the means and expertise needed to achieve our goals. That is the difference.

For eighteen months and a week, we have all had to suffer through the daily pandemonium that is life under Donald Trump, and people are getting fed up. They are looking for a sane and decent alternative. That is what we have to offer.

When we show up at the polls next fall, we’re going to get our chance to show the world. I’m proud to be a part of that.

Democratic Women Sweep Primaries! No Revolutions, Please.

Lizzie Fletcher wins in Texas!

Voters went to the polls across four southern states on Tuesday to vote in Democratic primary elections, and brought with them a sharp refutation to radical leftist narratives from earlier in the election cycle.

Candidates favored by the national Democratic Party establishment did very well. Their more extreme competition, in most cases, did not.

These primaries were overwhelmingly swept by moderate Democratic women and were key to a number of congressional districts considered critical for our chances to win back the House.

They are also significant, in that they are highlighting the general trend of Democratic women emerging as leaders, and of the American people finding their way back to political moderation.

This fall’s races in these four Southern states will have a lot to say about whether or not we Democrats will be able to complete our task of redefining regional politics, in preparation for the battle to come this fall.

Our ability to do that is what retaking control of the House of Representatives will depend on.

Progressive ideas have flourished in the post-2016 Democratic Party, and real changes are coming. But it’s real Democrats who are making them happen. The ones who are members of the party.

The people who say the word “progressive” most are the ones now running groups like Our Revolution, an apparatus created after the election for bringing Bernie Sanders’s political revolution down-ballot continues to struggle to establish itself as a real difference-maker.

This group has done so badly since that we’re about done even mentioning them. They’re withering on the vine on their own. Most of their candidates bombed out terribly today.

Politico recently did a piece on the Sanders-inspired organization. It’s no longer merely withering. It’s going down in flames. They are not helping and they are not the ones spearheading the drive toward tangible change.

The Democratic Party as a whole is moving leftward along the political spectrum, in terms of policy and temperament. A recent survey by the Pew Research Center, which takes a periodic look at partisanship on various issues, indicates that to be true.

That’s a good thing, so long as we don’t push too hard and blow it like the radical left insists on doing. Most everyone is sick of “revolution”. We’ve been headed left for more than twenty years. And it has nothing to do with Bernie Sanders and his proxies.

There has never been a set of midterms so crucial. Everyone on every side knows this. The best chance we’ve got of getting rid of Donald Trump before 2020, except maybe for the 25th Amendment, is to turn the Congress blue.

We need Democrats in the legislative branch to get this country turned around again, and to get rid of Donald Trump.

We need each other right now more than ever, and in spite of all this, there’s a certain element on the left that refuses to care about any of this and instead insists on fighting their own people. That has to stop.

I saw a good point in an article a while back about progressive energy at the local level; awesome. It takes us all. Working together, and not against each other.

It’s not about rejecting progressive ideas; just the opposite. Democrats are all progressives. The 2016 platform was progressive to a magnificent degree.

But in order to be truly progressive, you’ve got to demonstrate that you can make progress. Our Revolution has shown no ability to tip a major Democratic election in its favor, despite possessing Sanders’ prized email list, and can claim no major wins in 2018 as its own.

This has reportedly left many Sanders supporters feeling disillusioned. The group was designed to harness the senator’s grass-roots movement and carry it forward in his name. Many true believers have seen that it is failing in its mission.

Either way, while the top brass of the aforementioned organization is eating each other, the rest of us have a lot of work to do.

It’s time to start focusing on the positives and putting the past to bed, and this finally brings us around to some good news. Some news about unity.

In Georgia, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Our Revolution all supported Stacey Abrams in her primary race for governor, and she won!

Her win was historic, as she will be the first black woman to be a candidate of a major party to run for Governor in Georgia. It marks the beginning of a new direction for the party. This is truly the year of the Democratic woman.

Misguided Idealism- Bernie’s Brand Is Too Far Left To Win Elections.

#TheBlueWave-2018!

Bernie Sanders has endorsed Marie Newman in her battle to defeat Rep. Dan Lipinski, D-Ill. The Sanders boost comes as early voting has already started in Illinois. It’s possible he will visit the district to rally voters, cut commercials for her, and help her raise funds.

This came a day or so after Nancy Pelosi made it clear that Democrats will continue to stand by the representative chosen by the voters, and support Lipinski.

Just this morning, Marie Newman repaid that favor when she said she might not support House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi(D-Calif.) as the Democrats’ leader.

“I would have to see who’s running,” Marie Newman told The New York Times when asked if she would back Pelosi as Speaker if Democrats seize control of the House.

Nancy Pelosi is a national treasure who suffers the slings and arrows of half the country on a daily basis. Marie Newman is indecent in the extreme for attacking her in this manner.

Sanders knows that in backing Newman he is doing his best to start an ugly fight. And one would think he’d know that he’s bet on a losing horse again- his stepdaughter just lost her election for the mayorship of Burlington, VA– and for the same reason as always.

Bernie Sanders is too far left. Radically too far left.

The hardcore extremists who are propping up Bernie would like nothing better than to view the Newman/Lipinski contest for the 3rd Congressional District as a test of the political purity of far-left extremists against the Democrats who have always protected and stood up for them.

They point to Lipinski’s anti-abortion stance, which undoubtedly is repugnant, as a reason why attacking an elected Democrat ought to be considered acceptable.

But what about Heath Mello, early last year? He was perfectly willing to compromise on woman’s reproductive rights. Bernie took all kinds of heat for this at the time. He just didn’t care.

Bernie also refused to endorse Governor Ralph Northam’s campaign in Virginia. Again, we have to ask why?

The only answer is sour grapes. Northam easily beat his primary contender, Bernie’s man Tom Perriello. He, of course, was for Bernie last year. Perriello, however, is far from an ideal progressive. He’s another one of Bernie’s anti-abortion candidates.

It was also not so long ago that Perriello boasted of his A rating from the National Rifle Association, which was a result of his opposition to an assault weapons ban.

Let’s get real here. Bernie didn’t endorse Perriello because of his policies. He did it because Perriello is one of his cronies. Northam was not.

Dan Lipinski is also not a crony of Bernie’s, and it is the firmly held conviction of Millennial Democrats that is the only reason he has decided to stick his nose where it doesn’t belong in Chicago.

Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat. It all comes down to that. Everything he does makes perfect sense, once you’ve considered that he isn’t on our side. He has a really mean and overcompetitive side to him. That was clearly visible by last June, by which time he had ceased to resemble Mr. Rogers.

It is that unfortunate tendency that keeps him from helping real Democrats. He thought he was just going to show right up and start taking over the show. Unfortunately for Senator Sanders, we have made it quite clear to him that he and his fanatic followers are not at all going to waltz in here and take us over, regardless of the disgraced and terminated Cenk Uygur and his insolent hashtag, #WeWillReplaceYou.

Time for some real talk. Bernie is bitter about losing. He tried to hijack the Democratic party. He never intended on joining us for a second, although he lied all the way through both 2015 and 2016 and said he would. He hates Democrats and always has. He once said that JFK made him nauseous.

That is what this is about. Nothing else. It is why Bernie was so appealing to the Russians.

A February 2016 memo to Internet Research Agency staff. The instructions given were to post political content on US social media sites and “use any opportunity to criticize Hillary and the rest (except Sanders and Trump — we support them).”
No wonder his people don’t want him to touch “the Russia thing”.
This is solid confirmation of what we have been saying all along. The specific mention of Trump and Sanders shows that the Russian government decided early on to oppose Clinton. We can guess why Bernie would not vote to sanction Russia. Half the things they did in 2016 were on his behalf!
This Bern-interference has become an all-too-familiar refrain over this past year, and particularly in this primary season. He has shown up to split the left and sow discord everywhere he goes.
So-called progressives are getting together all over the country, hijacking local chapters of the Democratic Party. They are attacking our candidates everywhere.

There has never been a set of midterms so crucial. Everyone on every side knows this. The best chance we’ve got of getting rid of Donald Trump before 2020, except maybe for the 25th Amendment, is to turn the Congress blue. The guys we’ve got in there now would never have impeached Nixon. We need Democrats in the legislative branch to impeach Trump. Period.

Our electoral road to success is an uphill battle. Twenty-five Senate Democrats are up for reelection this year, for example, as opposed to only eight of the reds. A plausible path to control of the Senate has arisen since Doug Jones’ stunning upset of the perverse Roy Moore, but it’s still going to be very hard.

In spite of all this, there’s a certain element in the party that refuses to care about any of this and instead insists on fighting their own people.

I saw a good point in an article today about progressive energy at the local level; awesome. It takes us all. Working together, and not against each other. It’s not about rejecting progressive ideas; we’re all progressives. The 2016 platform was progressive to a magnificent degree. Time to start focusing on the positives and putting the past to bed.

It’s insane to have a primary where Democrats are fighting each other in a year when every cent is needed so desperately to fight the real enemy. Anyone who is forcing us to waste time and money thus, and worsening the interparty divide in the process, should be viewed as extremely suspect.

In related news, Conor Lamb’s stunning victory in Pennsylvania this month in a district Trump won by more than 20 points sent a strong message to Republicans as to how revolted America is by their president. It was a clear and present harbinger of an overwhelming #BlueWave.

But there was also a strong message sent by his victory to us Democrats.

It means that being a calm, thoughtful and polite moderate is a winning strategy once more.

It also means that being constructive is very important to American voters after years of chaotic hatefulness on both far sides of the political divide.

The political spectrum of America is like a pendulum, swinging back and forth from right to left. It always has and it always will. However, despite all kinds of tectonic social upheavals and political reorientation, most Americans are ultimately part of a large political center.

Going too far left in primaries to appease this assumption makes the road back to that political center a long one.

There are some very noisy people in both extremist camps who get famous using vitriol, wild rhetoric, and radical views. Lamb’s victory proves that you have the better chance to win by exhibiting your intelligence self-control. We’ve had enough of screaming about a revolution.

In order for the Blue Tsunami to keep sweeping over this country in 2018 and 2020, our candidates have to understand that we cannot win unless we appeal to Independents in the national electorate and moderate Republicans in right-of-center congressional districts or states. Misguided idealism and purism is not going to help us get rid of Donald Trump.

And neither is Bernie Sanders.

Trump Goes After SNAP, Ruins All He Touches- How It Came To This.

Trump in his element

Donald Trump has proposed a grocery list full of bad ideas as legislature since taking office thirteen unlucky months ago. This newest one is actually going after groceries.

The fattest president in the last hundred years of American history is trying to take away half of the people’s food stamps and replace them with a revolting government food box complete with shelved milk.

Another particularly vile specimen we happened to notice recently was that he’s made it legal for hunters to shoot hibernating bears.

Since Trump took over, we’ve been beset on all sides. Every aspect of our rights, needs, and value systems is being systematically discarded and trampled underfoot. Far from getting all the cool free stuff that Bernie Sanders was promising back then- $30 trillion dollars worth– we’re fighting a losing battle on every front, just desperately trying to hold on to what we’ve got.

Things are not improving, and will not improve until the Democrats are back in power. There has never been a time when this wasn’t so during our lifetimes, but it has never been truer than now.

An analysis of the events leading up to these events is provided in the form of this anecdote from one of our contributors, as well as a warning, from a Millennial Democrat who cares. The opinions thus expressed are the views of this contributor, and are not necessarily the views of the organization by and large(although they’re pretty close.)

I never wanted to get involved in politics.

Politics were boring. Plans, charts, talking heads- I couldn’t stand a bit of it. Made my head hurt. I figured that America the Great could take care of itself and did not really need my help.

One day, though, around the year 2000, a filthy animal named Ralph Nader crawled out of a toilet somewhere and burned all that to the ground, at the behest of his Republican masters. Soon after, just when I’d started to think the world wasn’t as bad as I’d thought, that the days of Bush and Reagan were behind us, that maybe we at last were close to making some kind of progress, it was all smashed to bloody bits by 9/11.

After that, everything was different.

Bill Clinton had worked hard for eight years to balance the budget and had even added a surplus to it. That was all squandered in ten months. The feeling of progress and decency that had been growing since the Berlin Wall collapsed was gone. Soon it was the Patriot Act and war with Afghanistan. A completely pointless and random war with Iraq was to follow.

Ever seen the HBO series, Generation Kill? With the American soldiers in Iraq just riding around the country, randomly blowing things up? That is how it was. We had no objective and no clear purpose. We knew perfectly well that democracy was not really threatened by Saddam Hussein. But Bush had sent us over, so there we were. It was really stupid. It messed up a lot of my friends.

After that, nothing was the same. Everyone hated Bush, but he was a Bush, after all, and we were at war. People felt like he would be a good wartime president because his father had resembled The Terminator on a number of different levels. Remember the old legends about the leaders of men being giant lizards, loose under the earth? The alien theorist guys always show a clip of the good old H.W. licking his lips in support of their theory. There can be no doubt he looked reptilian.

Unfortunately, W. was not the equal of his father, who in turn had not been the equal of Ronald Reagan. He bungled it at every turn. No weapons of mass destruction, no Middle Eastern democracy in Iraq, no launching pad for us to slowly take over everything else from. It was all for a great big nothing.

By the time the second Bush was gone, we had a mess to clean up on every corner of the globe. And even though his historical successor Barack Obama proved to be a genius, he couldn’t do more than get the country pointed back in the right direction. No one could have, in eight years. It’s much easier to destroy than create.

At length, Obama succeeded in his Herculean task and reoriented the country toward something decent. ALL WE HAD TO DO, WAS WALK FORWARD TOGETHER.

Telling this part of the story is where I always start to get mad.

There is no way to throw eight years of effort into a few sentences. Suffice it to say, what Obama had achieved was worthwhile, and it should have been stood up for. And of course, those of us who fought hard for Hillary Clinton did do our best to stand up for them. I’m here to tell you, it was not easy.

To you who reads these words- Did you ever try to have a rational debate about policy or legislature with a member of Bernie or Bust? Because I have, and I am here to tell you. It was impossible.

By the time 2015 was drawing to a close, I had a really bad feeling about what the left was up to. Signs of an impending communication breakdown were everywhere.

People who didn’t know a thing about any of it were of a sudden fervently expert in the field. All the mountebanks and pseudo-intellectual theorists in the country crawled out from under the rocks of their coffeehouses.  And the moronic faces of either Trump or Bernie were everywhere you looked.

By the time 2016 came around, it had become frightfully obvious to me that things were NOT going to simply continue to take care of themselves.

People were going nuts. Free college, free healthcare, free everything. To listen to these guys tell the story, money itself would soon be obsolete in the brave new Bernieverse. In fact, previous success in the financial world was enough to disqualify your entry.

Within these circles, reality became more and more distant from the discourse as the year went by. And by the time I realized that having started out fresh after New Year’s of ’16 was not going to be able to do much more than scratch the surface, that I had started out too late, it was too late everywhere. The schism in the Democratic Party was a fait accompli, and Trump went on to win because of it.

Jill Stein, the leader of the Green Party for that election cycle, proved a worthy successor to the legacy of Nader. Once again, the loony left stole just enough crucial swing state votes to cost us the election.

The Libertarian Party won out big, taking more third-party votes than any candidate has since 1996.

And the Republicans took control of every part of the government.

Nor was that the end. Even the ultimate disaster of Trump being elected was not enough to bring those people around. They’re out there even now, knives in their teeth, savaging people at the local level. They go by lofty-sounding names like Our Revolution and the Justice Democrats, but they’re just as noisy and insolent as when they were Bernie or Bust. They’re not fooling anybody.

Thanks in large part to them, every American on every side of the conflict got screwed. Putin was victorious. The way things are now, we can’t even agree to keep the air clean, since Trump pulled us out of the Paris Accord.

We’ve got a babbling baboon, strutting around like an obese rooster, with people calling him Mr. President. They will never get the stink out of the showers.

Every bathroom in the White House will have to be redone, at the taxpayers’ expense.

They’re all running wild in there, beating their wives and molesting one another like chimpanzees. And me? The guy who wanted nothing to do with politics? It looks like I’m in it for the long haul. Because until the day comes when things calm down again, and politics go back to being boring, I don’t have a choice.

This is about my future. It’s about the future of my children, who I don’t want having to join the Trump Youth. It’s about the future of my parents, who they want to throw out in the cold by snatching Medicare away. These things are not just important. They are life and death. See you in the trenches.

The Fake Left- Justice Democrats and Other Attempted Hijackers.

Fake Democrats

Robert Mueller, the FBI special counsel, reportedly obtained a search warrant for records of the “inauthentic” accounts Facebook shut down last September, as well as the targeted ads purchased by these accounts during the 2016 election cycle.

The warrant was first disclosed by The Wall Street Journal. We were certainly glad to hear it. There was no end of Trump trolls around to make our lives harder.

But here’s what I keep waiting for.

When is he going to get around to all the inauthentic Russians who were helping out Bernie Sanders?

What about what a friend of mine refers to as the “alternate HRC-verse”?

When will he show us he’s digging equally into those on the left who sold out their country? It’s not like they’ve cut it out.

For example, we have less than 200 days until the most crucial set of midterms in American history. If we don’t retake Congress, we will not be impeaching Donald Trump. Every day that he stinks up the White House is another day that we all risk becoming a cinder.

You’d think anyone with a lick of decency or good common sense would realize we’ve got to come together behind the leaders we’ve got and do what we can to help them.

Maybe so, but not Cenk Uygur, of the so-called Justice Democrats.

“It is time for them to step aside and let us lead. If you want unity, we’re ready to lead,” Uygur said on his popular internet TV show, The Young Turks.

The sheer brazen insolence! How many Presidents have you helped get elected, Cenk? Worthless as can be. Good for nothing but hurting real Democrats.

What kind of sense does it make, to throw primary challenges at Democrats already holding office? None, of course. But that’s what they’re doing. The Justice Democrats formally came together with the Brand New Congress back in March, with the intent of getting rid of every Democratic candidate everywhere who will not line up behind Bernie.

The related organization #WeWillReplaceYou is another splintered fragment of Bernie or Bust, recollected and sharpened into a razor.

There’s also Bernie’s 501 (C) (4) social welfare group Our Revolution, the official outgrowth of the Sanders “revolution”.

Our Revolution and Bernie Sanders were the first to start howling for Al Franken’s blood. Most likely it’s because he was both smart and loyal. He voted with the Party in almost all cases, and he would never have sold out to Bernie. That’s minus one Democrat they’ve got to “replace”.

When Hillary Clinton lost a far closer and equally acrimonious primary to Barack Obama in 2008, she chose to throw all the support she had behind the freshman Illinois senator immediately. That decision to keep intact the integrity of party unity was a crucial factor in propelling him to victory over Republican John McCain.

One might have expected Bernie Sanders, friend to the little people, to do the same. He had to realize how badly we’d get hurt if the Republicans got back in the White House. But his endorsement of his opponent came nearly a month later. And when he finally did it was tepid and dishwater. He hurt us all he could.

Jill Stein and the Green Party serve the same Russian Trojan Horse function here as their analogue Die Linke does in Germany. Stein is the one member of the alt-left to be formally included in the Russiagate investigations so far, due to her attendance at the infamous gala held in Moscow with Putin, Michael Flynn, and Paul Manafort.

However, there’s also a certain Tad Devine who managed the campaign of a certain Vermont senator. He was Paul Manafort’s right-hand man in Ukraine, back in 2004 at a time when both were the property of the thug and ex-convict Viktor Yanukovych, who in turn was the property of Putin.

Turns out he worked on Al Gore’s campaign with Donna Brazile, whose recent anti-Clinton accusations received a great deal of media attention. This might have been how that whole distraction got cooked up last fall.

There’s a clear confluence between the alt-right and the alt-left regarding Vladimir Putin and the ratfucking, (to use a venerable Watergate-era term) performed by Russian hackers, trolls, and bots.

Putin spoke highly of Bernie as well.

And even 2016 Libertarian Party Presidential candidate Gary Johnson pointed out during the cycle that “Interestingly enough, the candidate I most often side with, on 73% of the issues, is Bernie Sanders”.

The name of Bernie Sanders did not appear on the ballot as a candidate for President in any state during the 2016 general election. But a large share of the blame for this disaster that is the current administration lies squarely on his shoulders.

As early as February of 2016, his campaign received a warning from the Federal Election Commission, citing problems with his campaign’s February finance report.

The evidence is clear that Sanders and Stein became the Ralph Nader of 2016. They stole just enough votes from the Democratic candidate to lose the White House for us. Instead, the presidency ended up in the insane hands of Donald Trump. They were used as Putin’s other puppets.

This strategy worked out very well for the Republicans. Trump is a slob and a fool. Even the likes of Steve Bannon are completely dismissive of him. But he was the best they could do. And they managed to push him through- even though nobody wanted him.

That is why they’re trying it again. By attacking our best leaders at the primary level, they hope to force us into a war on two fronts. If they can cause us to split our resources fighting each other, they can hope to retain their power- even though they’ve brought so much hardship to the country with their tax plan and other ruthless legislature.

Let’s not make any bones about what the stakes are.

We have a maniac in the White House, threatening other maniacs with his great big nuclear button.

We have a hostile and malicious foreign power, Russia, putting tendrils and creepers down through every crack in our system’s architecture.

And we’ve got a domestic problem with fascism that is worsening by the day and has caused fatalities.

The only hope we have is #TheBlueWave.

Bernie, however, wouldn’t endorse any of our winning candidates in the 2017 elections. He did nothing to help whatsoever, and he refused help from the DNC in other key races that he jealously rushed in and claimed as his own, like that of Rob Quist in Montana. He is not our friend, and he is not progressive.

Going forward, our job is to raise awareness of the Libertarian wolves in our midst. Innocuous names like the Justice Democrats can make it hard to tell which is which.

We will need to learn to spot the trademarks of the organizations placing backing and support behind fake Democrats. They fit into regular patterns and these can be spotted and recognized.

For example, there’s the race to unseat Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House. The real Democrat in the race is the very qualified female candidate Cathy Myers. But she has been ignored in favour of a ridiculous man named Ironstache, who is getting his support from organizations like the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC.

This is the kind of thing that’s going to be going on everywhere. It’s a real shame that we’ve got to waste time and energy fighting people we’d be happy to work with. But that does not change the fact. We are under attack from the left just as much as the right.

If Bernie and Company were capable of making any progress or winning any races, then we would support them. But they should have shown us something by now.

Instead, of the local races and special elections that Our Revolution has supported so far in 2017, a terrible percentage of them lost — many of whom were candidates going up against “mainstream” Democrats supported by the party, including progressive congressman Keith Ellison’s bid for Democratic National Committee chair, which he lost to former Labor Secretary Tom Perez. They are not serious candidates. They show up just to complicate things for us.

As a quick aside, Bernie vs. Trump would have been a joke. Trump has spent his life picking his teeth with guys like Bernie.

When you hear people calling themselves “progressive” all the time, that’s a sure sign of a Bernie Bot. If you see support for a certain candidate from Our Revolution or the Justice Democrats, that’s another guy who is no good.

In closing, we can keep it simple. Bernie’s endorsement is toxic and his candidates are not Democrats. We are going to learn to spot all the red flags so that we can keep the party blue.

Democrats Victorious, Gaining Crucial Momentum for ’18!

The Democratic Party won big today. In Virginia, New Jersey, and New York City, we swept our races completely. Voters demonstrated a thorough repudiation of the repugnant way of life we have come to know as Trumpism.

The American people gave us back all the power they could in Tuesday’s elections.

We needed this. Big time. The way the media tells it, this whole last year has been one disaster after the next for us Democrats. The papers all have a dig to throw at Hillary Clinton any chance they get. They gleefully insist that Bernie Sanders is the face of our party. He is reviled so completely by most of us that he wasn’t even welcome to speak at a Women’s Convention without all hell breaking loose. It’s like they’re having a rape fantasy about it.

That whole narrative disregards a great many tangible and improbable victories scored by Democrats over the last year. Even our losses were wins in a number of cases.

Take the Jon Ossoff- Karen Handel race last springGeorgia’s Sixth District has been red since 1979.  We came within a hair of taking it. $23 million was raised for that race.

As of September 27, Democrats have picked up a total of eight Republican-held seats as a result of special elections from New York, New Hampshire, and Oklahoma. After tonight, you can bet people will start talking about it.

This combined with how close we came to winning the special elections earlier this year, suggests strongly that we’ve got everything it takes in 2018 to overcome the large mathematical disadvantages peculiar to this year’s electoral map.

Things went great in New Jersey. Philip Murphy easily polished off his mountebank opponent. That governor’s office has been in Republican Chris Christie’s hands for eight years. Across the map, in mayoral contests, state legislative races and ballot measures, everything went our way.
In Virginia, we saw a historical milestone pass. Voters elected the state’s first openly transgender candidate, Danica Roem, to the Virginia House of Delegates. Ralph Northam won the Virginia governor’s race handily, as close as the race looked toward the end.
And in New York City, Bill de Blasio secured the biggest mayor’s office in America for the Democrats.
The only rain on our parade came from a certain non- Democrat, Bernie Sanders, who dealt a blow to leftist unity by refusing to endorse Northam. That’s one race he could have made a significant impact on, but he refused. Northam has a wonderfully progressive platform, as opposed to his race-baiting slanderous Republican opponent. Bernie chose to actively try to hurt him. How much more proof do people need that this man is not on our side?
Our Revolution, the advocacy group founded by Sanders, has endorsed six candidates running for the Virginia House of Delegates. But when it came to the governor’s race, Bernie remained silent. He’d endorsed Tom Perriello, one of Northam’s primary opponents. It seems he’s back to sulking.

“They’ve done nothing, and it’s a shame,” says a Democratic strategist with Virginia roots. Wary of escalating the tensions between the Hillary and Bernie wings of the party, he doesn’t want to be named.

“This race is really the first battle for the resistance, and it’s dangerous for our prospects going forward if we can’t win this.”

Republicans will wake up tomorrow in a world of hurt. Full control of Congress, which favored them strongly in terms of electoral math, find themselves now in serious jeopardy.
Trump’s approval ratings have been abysmal since the start, but are worsening daily. He’s a liability. This is why so many of them are retiring. It will continue to be much harder to convince incumbents to run in such a hostile environment.
Northam’s opponent, Ed Gillespie, was reprimanded by Trump for not having fully embraced him and his principles in a tweet sent out Tuesday night. Trump blames Gillespie’s defeat on this, but it is not the simplest explanation.
Tonight the people of America sent  Donald Trump a message.
They have figured out that they made a mistake, and they intend to fix it. Donald Trump underestimated the spirit of this country. We are trusting and generous. We give people the benefit of the doubt. But we have a very hard core, at the end of the day, and we do not like being cheated.
Russiagate is winding toward a brutal conclusion; just ask Carter Page. That will be his eventual downfall. the country is stuck in the mud, and Democrats are the only ones who can get us back on track and keep us there. We need to turn Congress Blue again next year. And we have all the tools we need.
That pretty much says it all.
