Atrocity on the Border- Pentagon To Host 20,000 More Kids.

The agony continues for warehoused immigrant children.

The horrific saga of the biggest human rights crisis in recent American history has continued to play out all week, causing a tremendous dissonance and moral rupture in the country.

Public discovery of the Trump administration’s mass warehousing of immigrant children on the border has thrown a bomb into the consciousness of America. Pandemonium reigns from shore to shore.

The people responsible, however, do not seem to mind.

They certainly don’t seem to feel the least bit bad about it. Let alone accepting their own accountability, they are not even ready to admit they’ve done anything wrong. In fact, they’re just getting started. And they are about to double down.

Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services has now commanded the Pentagon to make preparations to house as many as 20,000 unaccompanied migrant children on American military bases, a United States official said.

In simpler language, that means plans to create new detention camps are being drawn. This isn’t getting better.

Jeff Sessions defiantly doubled down against the advice of his own pastor and personal congregation, saying that this will not end until Trump gets his wall.

He sanctimoniously quoted the Bible passage used by slaveholders back before the Civil War to justify their monstrous practice of treating their fellow humans as cattle.

Nikki Haley reviled the U.N. Human Rights Council without ceasing, decrying it as a “cesspool of political bias.”

If it’s a cesspool, Nikki, you and your lot ought to be very happy there. It’s where you belong, but the real cesspool, of course, is the warehouse they’ve been housing these kids in.

The confusion and humanitarian concerns unleashed by Trump’s policy cannot be adequately explained with language. These people have built a hell on earth for little children and are calling it a nursery school.

“We have high standards,” Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said, with no sense of her own absurdity. “We give them meals and we give them education and we give them medical care. There are videos, there are TVs.”

Those high standards she’s talking about-There is a piece of audio recorded from inside that godforsaken pit by ProPublica. Children are screaming. Without stopping.

It makes for some of the most horrible sounds of woe any person ever heard. The lamentations of all democracy were in their voices. This is a mark on our national honor that can never be undone.

Meanwhile, news from the border continues rolling in, bringing with it headlines that defy credulity.

“Torn from Immigrant Parents, 8-month-old Baby lands in Michigan”.

“Deputy Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl, 4, threatening to have mother deported if she spoke up.”

“Immigrant Children Injected With Drugs”.

The latter piece began with the sentence “Trump’s zero-tolerance policy is creating a zombie army of children forcibly injected with medications”.

This is not a movie, nor the National Enquirer, nor some nutty Russian disinformation bot.

They really are using antipsychotics on little tiny kids.

Legal filings show immigrant children in U.S. custody subdued with psychiatric drugs. Hardcore ones, too, like olanzapine and ziprasidone, stuff with really heavy sedating properties and awful side effects.

This is the kind of thing that goes on in the darkest recesses of American prisons, according to the testimonials of writers like Jack Henry Abbott and George Jackson. We do this now to five-year-olds?

The president of the American Academy of Pediatrics told CNN the practice is “nothing less than government-sanctioned child abuse.”

The psychiatric community of America is all but unanimous in their conclusion that the incarcerated children are going to be shellshocked for life. Nadine Burke Harris of the Center for Youth Wellness referred to Trump’s policy as a “recipe for toxic stress.”

Post-traumatic stress is nothing nice. People end up on drugs, they have permanent abandonment issues, they can’t sleep, they get night terrors, etc.

Add to this a whacked-out neurochemistry caused by psychotropic tampering done to the person against their will, in early childhood, and you’ve got a deeply wounded human being. For what?

The crime of being an immigrant’s child, taken across the border by your parents.

This is repugnant far beyond anything else the already disgusting Trump administration has done so far, and although he did sign something meant to end the separation of families, the damage has already been done. These kids will never forget this, no matter what else happens in their life.

Raising awareness has always been our task at Millennial Democrats, but this time is on another level from the others. We’ve got to think of something that will get these kids out of that warehouse.

Thinking along those lines, Democrats nationwide announced that they would not wait for Congress to act. A coalition of 10 states filed a lawsuit aimed at making sure that the Trump administration does not continue to separate children from their parents at the border.

“President Trump yesterday signed an empty and meaningless order that claims to take back policies that he put in place himself as a political stunt,” said Xavier Becerra, the California attorney general, who is a plaintiff in the suit. “Meanwhile, these children, their parents and people around the world need answers regarding what comes next.”

“I still think we’re in a state of national crisis,” New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker told The Associated Press in an interview.

Until we get those answers, this crisis is never going to end.

U.N. Condemns Trump’s Recognition of Jerusalem- Global Stability On Edge.

Donald Trump has got us into the worst fix yet, this time.

The United Nations voted overwhelmingly to condemn his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Some 128 countries voted for the resolution, while nine voted “no,” and 35 nations abstained, including Canada, Mexico and Australia.

This was about the only respectable thing to do. Rash, reckless, and random is not what adult human beings are about.

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley angrily issued a direct threat from the US to pull funding from the world body if it voted to condemn Trump’s decision.

“The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in this assembly,” Haley said. “We will remember it when we are called upon to once again make the world’s largest contribution” to the UN.

Haley said the US will put its embassy in Jerusalem regardless of the vote.
There was also a threat from Trump himself, who mentioned the UN vote at a Wednesday Cabinet meeting. “We’re watching those votes,” the President said. “Let them vote against us, we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”
But only a few countries allowed themselves to be cowed by the bullying of Trump, who doesn’t even have the support of his own people, much less of the U.N. or NATO.
Millennial Democrats would like to express our solidarity with the rest of the world’s community. This is an outrage to most of us, too. We hate this awful guy. We fervently hope that the rest of Earth will forgive us his stupidity and sloven. We will make it right as soon as he is gone.
Nation after nation castigated the US at the emergency session of the UN General Assembly, and with good reason. The very fact that an emergency assembly had to be called, because something Trump did caused an emergency, is proof that this administration presents a terribly serious risk for world peace.
Furthermore, it is a violation of international law that leaves the United States and her citizens largely isolated.
And worst of all, we have now got a fracture point in the global order we can’t fix.
This is what Vladimir Putin has been after for a long time. Big trouble everywhere. Destabilization. A cloud of chaos, to cloak an evil plan of world domination. The whole thing reads more like a Japanese manga than it does a serious political discourse. But these are the times we live in.
Speaker after speaker at the UN emphasized their want to dissociate themselves from what Trump did as much as possible. We’re all but cut off because of it. It’s as if we’ve returned in time to the days of Charles Lindbergh, America First, and total isolationism as a policy.
Palestinian Ambassador Riyad Mansour declared that the decision destroyed Washington’s ability to act as a mediator in peace talks between them and the Israelis, which truly is deplorable. It’s as though Trump is determined to alienate every ally we’ve got.
“What does this decision serve?” asked Mansour. “It serves the powers of extremism … Does the United States not wonder why it stands isolated, and why even its closest allies couldn’t turn a blind eye to this decision?”
“Your threats imperil global peace,” said Venezuela’s representative to the UN, Samuel Moncada Acosta.
“This decision is an outrageous assault to all universal values,” Turkey’s Ambassador to the UN, Feridun Sinirliolu, said.  “You can be strong, but this doesn’t make you right.”
Trump isn’t right or strong, but he is in charge of the executive apparatus of the most powerful empire the world has ever seen. The capacity of the United States to exert influence is all but boundless, for good or for evil. And having a madman employed by a foreign dictator at the helm of it is a worst-case scenario waiting to happen for humanity.
Putin is playing the most dangerous game of Russian roulette in the history of mankind, and with the gun held to the head of all humanity. If we get unlucky, and things break down the wrong fracture point, we’ve got the power to kill ourselves completely. We didn’t have that before.
The Turkish president Erdogan is right about Jerusalem being a red line for Muslims. It’s a red line for Christians and Jews, also. And if history has proven one thing without a doubt, it’s that wars fought over religion get really ugly.
We are taking the position that something like the U.N. resolution had to happen, in order to try and calm this situation down. We’re grateful they did it. It’s a big relief to know that sane world leaders like Angela Merkel are still around to keep things from falling apart entirely. America is completely deadlocked with this shambles of a man in charge of it.
Donald Trump had better wake up and realize this is not a game before people start getting killed.
