Donald Trump Just Invoked the Civil War on Twitter.

Donald Trump, in essence, has threatened Democrats with civil war for moving to impeach him.

The third year of the Donald Trump era has seen its most dramatic moments yet, and its most dangerous ones. He shut the government down to distract from the Russiagate investigation’s special counsel Robert Mueller’s Report and its tale of justice obstructed by a president who’d taken leave of reason. He boasted of receiving foreign help after more than two years already denying it, he spent the summer rubbing it in our faces, and then he did it again. Things aren’t getting better. Hillary Clinton called him a ‘corrupt human tornado’.

No doubt, Madam President.

As I’m writing this thank-you to all the people who have helped us pull this nightmare situation back to something close to life again, I see that Donald Trump just went on Twitter and accused us of getting ready to cause a “Civil War like fracture” by impeaching him for being the most corrupt president in American (human) history.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

….If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.” Pastor Robert Jeffress,

Trump, come on now, man. Can you really still be blaming others? You pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son, dude. Real talk. You are not in the position you once placed the Central Park Five in, when you wished them executed for a rape they had yet to go to court for committing, just for being fire.
This is not on anybody else. We didn’t want to impeach you; I ought to know. I have been helping Nancy Pelosi beg them not to try and kill you (metaphorically, and I mean that, too. If someone were to write in and say, I’m going to kill the President, I would turn their ass into the Secret Service with alacrity) for years.
As outraged as I was at the way you got in bed with the Russians, as much of a nightmare as these last few years have been, I don’t literally want the man dead. He’s not worth it.
But I cannot be sure he feels the same way about me, nor any of us. He’s behaving more and more like the cornered animal I’ve always believed him to be, and some of his supporters are crazy. There is no doubt about that. These people have threatened my life before, and while I’m pretty sure most of them are blowing smoke, there’s been a few that have made sure I watch my step.
This is not unique to me, either, but is something most Democratic organizers live with. Facebook has become a terrifying place no less than the deep web and threatens at all times to spill out into the real world. Take care of yourselves, folks, and each other. Who knows what these people will do; it wasn’t long ago a crazed Trump supporter slaughtered nearly three dozen people in El Paso, Texas.
There’s not really much else to say about this; it just kind of goes along with what we’ve been saying. The moment requires calm and caution. Please help us to spread them around.

Impeachment Countdown- What Just Happened, and What Comes Next.

Donald Trump is going down, and trouble in the streets may go down too. Adopt a buddy system, folks, and organize every way you are able. Do not take for granted that nothing will happen- history has proven many times that it just may. We cannot let ourselves be turned into victims.

It’s official, folks. The whistleblower complaint regarding Donald Trump’s misuse of his power, trying to pressure the president of Ukraine into investigating Hunter Biden, the son of 2020 Democratic presidential frontrunner and former vice-president Joe Biden, has acted as a fuse, and the people of America are now making it clear that we have finally had enough. The House of Representatives has the 218 votes it will need to file impeachment proceedings and bring this thing home; the word is the actual vote will happen by Thanksgiving.

That means, in case you were wondering, that the very last moments of the 2010s will be spent with one of the world’s most worthless people, Donald Trump, on everybody’s mind. He’s already won, for his own part, because all he ever wanted was to be the center of attention. And now he is.

What a way to say goodbye to a decade that started out so filled with Hope and Change. Republicans like Scott Walker in Wisconsin hadn’t technically taken office yet; there was no way to know for most how bad it was going to be. One doesn’t have to wonder very hard how Obama must feel when he reads the papers today. The man himself was black, and so is despised by many he turned his hair grey to help. On the right and far left alike, his legacy was shunned and cast aside.

If anyone should be reading this who did not vote for Hillary Clinton, if you voted for Stein or abstained for the sheer joy of screaming out ‘Bernie or Bust!’- Know that this is on you, and resolve to change your ways.

Stand on the side of decency and moderation and compromise, and pitch in to help. We’re glad to have you; God knows we cannot spare you. But know this to the core of your heart: What you did back then helped to cause this avalanche.

This country has been getting torn apart all along, but this will be beyond that altogether. Trump’s base harbors many who want a war; things may really get ugly. Know who your friends are, be organized, and be ready. “There is no joy in this,” said Nancy Pelosi, and she is right. We should never forget that. It is a sad thing, that we should have to struggle to not rejoice in the downfall of our own president. Even George W. Bush and all his administration gave citizens of this country to reconcile with a troubled conscience, never brought us to this. We are living through the Chinese curse about interesting times, but there can be no doubt at all they are historical. It’s time now to talk about what has just happened, and what might be coming next.

Remember when the Mueller Report didn’t end up putting Trump behind bars? That was the end of the beginning, I wrote. The two have taken place on the same timeline. Back then, I predicted that Trump would think himself utterly above the law, after that. I predicted he would become increasingly more reckless and brazen in his lawlessness until finally, sooner or later, he did something too big for even the Republicans to ignore, or at least big enough to unify the Democratic Party’s many wild hearts. This incident actually took place in July, so this really is like a delayed effect drug.

The facts drove the timing and the decision,” Nancy Pelosi told POLITICO in a brief interview. “And that’s what I’ve said all along — when we get the facts, we will be ready. And we’re ready.”

Pressuring another country’s president to investigate the children of his chief political rival, Joe Biden, has proven to be it, folks, because make no mistake about it, folks. Those are the facts. That is why when the good news finally came that our national leadership was ready to proceed, we said impeach.

Back in May, the new Attorney General, William Barr had an announcement to make in the immediate aftermath of the Mueller Report. An investigation into the “origins” into the Russiagate investigation, he said, would soon be underway. He had already received a letter of complaint from Robert Mueller, who objected of Barr’s misrepresentation of his work. But that didn’t seem to bother him. Barr himself is now in it, up to his neck. His name is all over the anonymous whistleblower’s complaint, as is Rudy Giuliani’s and also Kurt Volker‘s, the Ukranian ambassador who just resigned this evening. The gist of the complaint is below, with thanks to FactCheck.org.

“In the course of my official duties, I have received information from multiple U.S. Government officials that the President of the United States is using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 U.S. election,” the whistleblower complaint reads. “This interference includes, among other things, pressuring a foreign country to investigate one of the President’s main domestic political rivals. The President’s personal lawyer, Mr. Rudolph Giuliani, is a central figure in this effort. Attorney General [William] Barr appears to be involved as well.”

According to the anonymous whistleblower’s complaint, the conversations that led to all this getting going were started for that reason. So their counter-investigation seems to have led them into this fix directly, which is the clearest indication we have that Mueller’s work led Trump down the road from the probably impeachable to the one hundred percent impeachable.

A few days ago-before the whistleblower’s complaint had been released- I wasn’t so sure this was impeachable, because- well because it all seems impeachable to me, I guess. He’s done so much already, why is this different? Is this really worse than having colluded with Russia in the first place? Collusion isn’t a legal term, said Mueller- which to me was a great reason to keep using it. I never understood how welcoming foreign interference and having one’s cronies help it along could be called anything else, but Mueller said no. Who am I to argue, I thought sadly.

Then Putin comes boasting onto the television about how the Mueller investigation was “A mountain giving birth to a mouse.”

Even that mouse is taller than you, Vlad. I hope you’re enjoying life as the butler of Xi Jinping. That’s what happens when you stab America in the back. You end up sanctioned, desperate for influence and cash, selling your country’s oil to China, and ending up a BUTLER.

Garcon! We’re ready to order, you butler, you. Drive me a pizza over, all the way from Moscow. I could use a shoeshine, too. Now that Trump won’t be able to launder money for you anymore, you’re nobody. Pretty soon someone else will be in charge of Russia, and you will be nothing at all. Speaking of which, we now know Trump told Sergey Lavrov in June of 2017 that Russia’s interference into our election didn’t bother him. That too came out today.

Breaking news earlier tonight said that Trump has locked down conversations between two other world leaders as well. One of them was the new crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman. The second, of course, was Vladimir Putin. They’ve been putting it all in place for a Russiagate 2.0. Now, look at them.

Vladimir Putin is finding himself the recipient of bad karma, and so is Donald Trump. You cannot spit at God forever. Sooner or later, something will happen that reveals your human nature, and you’ll be forced to remember what we all must, sooner or later. You are human, you have feet of clay, and if you persist too far in your imitation of Caligula, you’re going to end up gutted on the palace steps as he was. Hillary Clinton popped up yesterday and said look, we’re dealing with Trump- the ‘Corrupt Human Tornado‘. His day is coming.

So here’s what we know so far. The anonymous whistleblower, Deep Throat 2.0, has had his complaint released and reviewed by Congress. It states clearly that Trump abused his executive power tried to get Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election (‘soliciting’), that he pressured Ukraine’s President Zelensky to do it for him, and that he tried to cover it up. After he saw what Trump had done, he blew the whistle. Enough is enough.

The document is seven pages long and details multiple efforts to force Zelensky to “Play Ball”. The term they’re throwing around is an old Latin phrase meaning “Something for something”, quid pro quo (Which Fox News is revoltingly trying to say is not in this context illegal, frequent molesters of the law and truth that they are).

Zelensky badly wanted Trump to have a meeting with Trump, something Trump was trying to work him on, and the latter had already instructed our vice-president, dutiful Mike Penise, to cancel a similar meeting on him back in May. Military aid may have been on the table as well, which may have something to do with the recent Ukrainian military withdrawal from Donbas, a key outpost on the front of their war with Russia. Nothing would surprise us anymore. Trump withheld their money, the Ukrainians retreated from Donbas, and four days later they got their money. Putin hits a lick.

Quid pro quo.

A hearing was held on Capitol Hill Thursday morning wherein Joseph Maguire, the acting Director of National Intelligence testified before Congress. The hearing began moments after the whistleblower complaint was released. Maguire said the case that was discussed today is “unique and unprecedented” compared to other whistleblower cases he is aware of. He also said the whistleblower acted in good faith.

No doubt he did.

The Mueller Report proved not to be so much of a mouse, in the long run. It pointed the way to Deutsche Bank’s money laundering problem with Russian oligarchs, which is going to be the foundation of our argument. Had Trump never gotten in bed with the Russians, had his campaign’s blatant collusion really been a delusion, Mueller- the nation’s top bloodhound-would have never had to write it in the first place, nor would he have discovered the true reason Trump was peddling Russian woo- the fact that he, for decades, has been laundering money for the Russians and was thus completely compromised long before the Russians decided to hack our election back then, in horrible 2016.

Trump’s plump rump is in a slump. He is not getting out of this one. He has played with the law as if it were a game his whole life. He ran an illegal charity, an illegal university, and an illegal presidential campaign. He got away with the last one, or at least, that’s how he felt post-Mueller, slouching along like a female warthog in rut and boasting. But as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, No lie can live forever. He’s still blowing his mouth for now, but that won’t last. Expect him to behave as a wounded animal does and expect the same from his followers.

One Word: Impeach.

One Word: Impeach.

One Word: Impeach.

Well, here we go, America! Hold on to your hats. For the day has finally come to aim our biggest cannon at the biggest crook to ever disgrace the presidency. Donald Trump has been an embarrassment and a burden for too long. For years now, we have stood behind the national leadership and help tamp down talk of impeachment as too divisive and too risky. Nancy Pelosi is announcing the formal impeachment inquiry as these words are being written.

We are going to impeach Donald Trump.

We have never been for this before, even though it was clear we had enough to impeach him on before he came to office. It’s because we didn’t just want to wing him, in the terminology of a hunter. If it came to this- and most of us have suspected that it would from the beginning- we wanted to drop him good, and to do it with ammunition made by the man himself. Impeachment is the biggest cannon there is, and we are readying it to fire.

Donald Trump is a crook. He’s always been a crook. It’s all he knows how to be, is a crook. His father was a Klansman and his grandfather a pimp. So this thing with trying to get Ukraine to do something crooked, to threaten to withhold military aid if they would not help him do more crooked things, in this case disgustingly trying to label Joe Biden’s son as corrupt- because he thinks Biden’s going to beat him, as do we- It’s just kind of par for the course, these days.

That is the biggest reason of all why we have for America’s sake to impeach him.

And by the way, Joe Biden just announced that he agrees. Democrats from all across the spectrum, for the first time, progressives and socialists and John K. Delaney and all, are going to unite and get rid of this man.

They talk about the ‘bar having been lowered’ for Trump. Man, just look around you! That bar got blasted out of God’s creation. There IS no more bar! For any of us. The system has broken down, says Susan Rice on CNN. No one disagrees. America has lost touch with a sane reality because of this man, and so has the rest of the world. Children are doing more drugs because of the stress of the era given his name. People are hating their lives.

Truth itself has lost its meaning in this country because of this man. We’re descending into Bolshevism. Our system is looking more and more like one of these new hybrid variants of National Socialism. The teachings of our parents are losing meaning. We can’t let this go on.

Donald Trump has simply got to go.

The World Freedom Index says we’re no longer a democracy. We’ve got children in dog cages screaming for their parents. Trump recently said he’d pardon anyone who helped him build the wall illegally. Robert Mueller tried to tell us; his report stated blatantly that if Trump were not the president, he would have been charged with obstruction of justice for sure.

He also told us that Trump welcomed another country’s blatant theft of our electoral privacy and expected to benefit from what they did on his behalf at the behest of Vladimir Putin the awful dictator, and to the rest of Earth.

There comes a point to say enough is enough, and we’ve been living inside of it, like the center of a dartboard, since the day he took the oath. We’ve lost our values. It’s been like trying to hold back a flood. We are beset on every level, all the time. Enough of the stirred-up white nationalism; we will never forget how your bull and air of anything-goes chaos stunk up the country and got our sister Heather Heyer killed by Nazis at Charlottesville.

Enough of the sucking up to dictators. We weren’t happy to see John Bolton come, but we also were not happy to see him go, at least not like that, fired on Twitter in your usual moronic style. We do NOT want the Taliban stinking up Camp David, we don’t want any of it. We all have had enough of your schtick since The Apprentice, forget about now. We’ve been following it all since the beginning, and although the list is far from complete, I remember writing about all of it very well.

Let’s take a walk down Memory Lane, Donald, shall we? I’m the Ghost of Christmas Past.

You brought Steve Bannon into the National Security Council, Donald, and gave him a look at the classified information of our country. Who could forget you brought Omarosa along, speaking of The Apprentice? When they dragged her out kicking and screaming, she left with a briefcase of data, and she slammed your crooked behind for the pig you were- and are.

John Kelly, a formerly respected four-star general (before he lied for you and called Maxine Waters a liar, on your behalf, since you told a grieving military parent that your son knew what he was getting into, and then offered her money), got rid of Omarosa and Bannon, but sometime later you fired him for calling you an idiot. That’s also what happened to H.R. McMaster, James “Mad Dog” Mattis, and Rex Tillerson, the other supposed ‘adults in the room’.

I mean, if you’re an American, you don’t know whether to laugh or to cry.

You let a Chinese spy go wandering around the Mar-a-Lago, where you sometimes discuss nuclear secrets. That trial is stalled, by the way; they’re calling it an Underwear Blunder. Jesus God.

You refused to close down immigration ports during Hurricane Harvey, the same day you pardoned Joe Arpaio; what a slap in the face. you never made sure the people of Puerto Rico have had clean water, ever since. There’s another flood there now, and all over the newspapers are pictures of thousands of drinking water bottles. In the richest country in the world. Forget about the people of Flint, Michigan; they’re mostly black anyway, right?

Or Native Americans, like the Wampanoags who gave us Thanksgiving, and had their tribal status revoked by Donald Trump right before last year’s Thanksgiving. They don’t like clean water either, apparently. Remember all the protests over the Standing Rock pipeline, because of how bad it was going to screw up the water of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe? I Stand With Standing Rock? That pipeline went through, and no longer in the news often is the story of how they’re going to double it.

It’s all become typical. And that’s revolting. Three years ago, it felt like we were really getting someplace. (Thank you, Bernie or Bust).

None of the things we were fighting for in the Obama era are still getting coverage. We lost every one of those battles the day Trump was elected. It’s too painful to talk about for most of us. Remember the national outcry over police brutality? Where did that go? There have been many Trayvon Martins dead during the Trump era, but there are too many other horrors in the news for the likes of Saheed Vassell to get much coverage, even if the Stephon Clarks get a few days- as do the daily mass shootings like the one at Parkland High School down in Florida.

It has all but ceased to matter because we’re holding on for our dear lives. The greatest hope we had has been Joe Biden, and it still is. But now we’ve got another way going as well, a more direct way, reflective in every way of what a good crook deserves. We needed to wait for something ironclad to come along and tie all these atrocities together, and now it has. We’re pleased to announce that Nancy Pelosi is about to give the people what they want. Here at Millennial Democrats, we rejoice in our hearts that the day has finally come.

Impeach the filthy animal.

Millennial Democrats would like to collectively thank the brave Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who stood tall under terrible pressure and held the line when the tidal wave of corruption worldwide came to swallow him. He stands on the mouth of a chasm now, and our prayers are with him. God has fought beside many brave men who resisted, and he stands with all of us now. We would also like to thank the brave, anonymous, credible whistleblower who has gone the path of Deep Throat, who helped Washington Post reporters take down Richard Nixon, whose spectre raised its ugly head between the shoulders of Roger Stone during the heart of the Russiagate scandal. All the worst people and tendencies in our country have been dancing like devils on the streets, cavorting with indecency on our screens and on our streets. It is time we got our sanity back, and today, we announce we’re going to take it.

Stay the Course, #StandWithOurSpeaker- On Impeachment and Other Issues.

#StandWithOurSpeaker!

The long-awaited Office of the Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III‘s thorough and explosive Report on the Russian interference into our 2016 presidential election, and the obstruction of justice issues that arose during the subsequent investigations has raised like never before the question of whether or not to impeach Donald Trump for what clearly are extremely serious offenses against our democracy.

It should be understood going in that all of us will be going into the dark together, in what may well prove to be the most consequential decision of our lifetimes. In deciding the question of the fate of our current illegitimate, babyish president Trump, the Mussolini of our times, any discussion of the topic must begin and end with that.

There will be trouble in every last street and bar and coffee shop in the nation; brother will turn on brother. There will be a rage on both sides like nothing we have seen since the Civil War, exceeding by far what we saw in the 70s with Richard Nixon and Watergate. There will be more than one event like Charlottesville, where our sister the martyr Heather Heyer was run down by a cursed soul and dragged to her death behind his van. We’re pleased to report he’s now rotting in prison. But that too is one more link in the chain.

Elsewhere down South, where many people like the men below would rather be Russians than Democrats, internationally known televangelist Franklin Graham is literally telling his followers to prepare for civil war if impeachment proceedings against Trump go through. People listen to that guy down there. If they start giving orders to open fire, it is our opinion that they will do so. Without a doubt.

Red, sad, and confused Americans.
Red, sad, and confused Americans.

Anecdotally, we had one sick man named Rene Hollan visit our Facebook Page and say,

“Understand this Democrats. If Trump gives the order I will kill as many of you as I can.”

We gave that to the FBI the following morning.

There were hopes, in the beginning, that the likes of John McCain and Susan Collins and once strident Trump critic Lindsey Graham would eventually realize just how crooked he is when the Mueller Report finally came out and proved he’d benefited willingly from Putin’s help. But neither the voluminous document itself nor the subsequent comments of Robert Mueller that essentially proved Trump a criminal has proved to be the game-changer we had hoped for. This is not the Republican Congress of the 1970s that acted with honor during Watergate.

Insofar as Trump’s sleazy role in it all is concerned, it seems that a lifetime’s worth of doing deals with a wink and a nod allowed him to maintain plausible deniability- barely. On the question of obstruction, the case is far more straightforward, everything from trying to fire the Special Counsel Mueller to trying to get former White House counsel Don McGahn to change his story on a number of particularly ham-handed attempts at co-opting a good civil servant. The web of lies, untruths, and viciousness Donald Trump has spun around himself is like a leper’s shroud, hard to see through.

The common strand of corruption is the only thing obvious and unquestionable.

We all live in the madhouse as a result of trying to come to terms with it all, but at least about one thing, there can be no doubt at all. The man is deeply corrupt, we say again, and he’s been a real disaster for America.

But that is not quite the question we face.

Trump is an unworthy leader in every possible way, yes. He cheated and bullied his way into the White House. But although it was a blatant theft, the unpleasant fact remains. In the end, he did win the election, and his tenure in office is already a fait accompli. Nobody’s talking about the 25th Amendment and removing him due to insanity, more’s the pity. Given that, and from what we know for sure as of this minute, can we really say we’re certain he should be impeached? In lieu of all the chaos and the cost?

All this is to say nothing of the fact that any measure of impeachment we do try would at this time merely be symbolic. It will never, ever, ever pass a Republican-controlled Senate. Impeachment may well be getting considered by our strategists as a nuclear option of sorts, a last-ditch attempt to prevent him from running wild completely between next year and 2024 if the great tragedy strikes a second time. With a Democratic Congress, we could remove him if we had to. But unless we are patient now, that will never happen.

We’ve got to think strategically here, with our heads as well as our guts. Trump wants us to try and impeach him, because he knows it is the one thing we could do to turn him into a pitied figure, one the public might actually view sympathetically. The stakes of this are too high for premature attacks made for the sake of showy idealism.

It may well be that national honor will force our hand in the end, but we ourselves do not have all the facts yet. A vast amount of research and contemplation must go into formulating a workable strategy here, for all of us Americans are now dancing on the razor’s edge together. There’s no need to bother asking me what I’d like to see happen to Trump for all of this as a private citizen; just look around. But in terms of the law, things are somewhat different.

Fortunately, we’ve got the best legal minds in the vast United States of America working on it around the clock as we speak, and under the most competent leader we could ever want: Nancy Pelosi, whose talent for organizing her caucus and keeping track of time is unparalleled, and gave us Obamacare among many other a legislative score.

Having Nancy Pelosi back in the Speaker’s chair was the single most immediately crucial factor in the Blue Wave of 2018.

She got more important bills passed in her first six months in office back in 2008 than the Trump administration has in nearly three years. In short, she’s good. Really good. And that is good for us. Because whoever has to take this on had better be the best. To impeach or not impeach is largely her decision.

In April 1970, while in session, Congressman Gerald Ford raised an old rhetorical question: “What is an impeachable offense?” Ford at this time was the House Minority Leader (Pelosi’s job pre-Blue Wave 2016-2018), and his answer to the question was stark and illustrative.

An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history.

That majority in today’s House of Representatives belongs to the Democratic Party. We definitely do have the right to start these proceedings.

That is why we are being so careful!

Impeachment is an utterly drastic step, a divisive and frankly tragic one, regardless of the outcome. They do not make the country look good, to say the ludicrous least. Lurid Ken Starr the pornographer wiped slime on the courts that will never come off when he painted his lurid fantasy tales about the sexual exploits of Bill Clinton, the second president to be tried for impeachment in the Senate. The Republicans were annihilated in the next Congressional elections- just as we Democrats were after Nixon.

The reason why? Both Clinton and Nixon were very popular among their respective camps, who judged themselves abused, whether or not this was the case. Retributive backlash in the form of division and strife swept the country twice and left rankling wounds in the hearts of members of both parties. It set the stage for a third one to be totally apocalyptic.

In closing, we must keep in mind going forward that impeachment is nothing to speak of lightly. It rips countries apart. It may well prove necessary to give it a try in the end- but not without first considering every option with meticulous care.

While it is not easy to be patient about this-for surely, We the People have never before had such a surreally egregious cause- it is vastly important to understand how high the stakes are and how dangerous the strategy would be. It’s an incredibly tough call given the circumstances, which is why we at Millennial Democrats haven’t weighed in on it hard either way. It is our opinion that Hillary Clinton’s recent suggestions involving televised hearings and utmost caution provide an excellent roadmap for the future.

This observation leads us to the primary thesis of the article. We have got to stand behind our Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, who is one of the smartest and toughest people in America today.

We have always held Pelosi to be strongest by far for this position of high power in Congress. Back last fall, everyone mostly did, and nothing has changed. Even the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was back then the sworn enemy of every moderate everywhere, ultimately decided not to oppose her on practical grounds. If you want to get anything done at all, you’ve got to have good leadership. We have the best, and most of us have known this all along. She is our Speaker of the House, and make no mistake.

This decision is all but hers alone.

In closing, Nancy Pelosi has been our choice to be our leader from the Trump era’s Day One. She is by far the person in the best position to make the call, and whatever way it goes, it is our firm opinion that she’ll have made it. We need to support her fully in any case and circumstance.

The one thing we cannot afford right now is for our coalition to dissolve into more fractious squabbling. The world needs our power now more than ever, and to bring it to bear, we must centralize and fully focus it. There is only one person in all of these vast United States of ours who can do it as God knows it must be done, and that person is Nancy Pelosi.

Whichever way this goes, #Stand WithOurSpeaker.

Republican Rabies and Democrat Decency- Trump’s Base Hates Him!

Trump supporters are going berserk. The Democrats have managed to successfully appeal to Trump’s sense of mercy on the subject of the Dreamers. According to the nearly-finalized agreement, not only will there be no wall, but the DACA recipients will stay and get a legal path to citizenship. Ann Coulter is beside herself with rage, at the thought of it. Trump’s base now “hates him”, according to her. She went so far as to outright call for his impeachment.

Breitbart News also went rabid immediately, coining their old hero #AmnestyDon.  And Trump supporters have gathered in packs nationwide, to burn those stupid looking hats of his in protest of the one decent decision of his presidency.

The traditional base of the president have shown us that victory is nowhere near as important for them as being able to hold onto old misconceptions and illusions. Desperate for wins at any cost, Trump has perceived a lifeline before his eyes. He has happened across the one strategy guaranteed to pay off for him. By listening to us Democrats and helping us get our stuff done, he’ll score all the big victories he wants.

For Donald Trump, this has led to good things. For the first time since his presidency began, he is enjoying being hated less by the rest of America, the people not among his base, It is probable he will not give that up. This is very good news for America. But it is not good news for Trump’s base.

They want a return to the days of “Lock her up!” and “Build the wall!”. In the absence of these, politics is ceasing to be fun for them. What a shame.

Those “true Trump” voters –his most ardent supporters – comprised about 22 percent of registered voters in the poll. Their stance on issues like immigration and LGBT rights is far more ardent than their Republican brethren.

The Trump arm of the GOP has felt increasingly isolated, and left behind by the times they no longer understand. Many seem to be feeling acutely uncomfortable and overlooked with many of the changes of the past decade.

According to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll,

“The Trump arm of the GOP looks almost like an entity unto itself, one that is feeling acutely uncomfortable with many of the changes of the past decade and overlooked by the news media,” the poll analysis notes. “The attitudes among True Trump voters raise questions about the Republican Party’s direction. The energy in the GOP right now is with them and the data do not suggest they are a group looking for compromise or moderation.”

While Donald Trump’s supporters remain far from united in opposing the goals of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, a new HuffPost/YouGov survey finds that those with anti-immigration views are united in a very firm bloc. They are ones who feel most strongly about the issue. Their stolid racism made them Trump’s core, the backers who propelled him to his victory in the primary over his more mainstream Republican rivals.

Monmouth University poll released earlier this year, reported that six in 10 people who approve of President Donald Trump (61%) say that there is nothing Trump could do that would lose him their backing.

The cultural divide running through American politics has long had an undercurrent of partisan distrust between it, but the gaps grow even wider when one looks at the group of voters firmly behind President Donald Trump. Their devotion to him is unbounded by decency or reason.

However, for all their love and adoration, for all that their undying goodwill put him into power, what Trump wants above all else is something he can never get from Trump voters- success.

Promising his base the things they think they want was successful. Following through on them, however, has proved an impossible disaster. The process of trying has made him the most reviled man on Earth, not to mention the most laughed at. And the Republican Congressmen he had planned to shoot for the stars with, were not able to put a repeal bill on his desk, let alone a replacement. The people who brought him to the dance have become a liability.

This is a president in desperate need of validation, affirmation, and success. Trump cares about winning more than he cares about anything else. The only wins of his presidency, were achieved for him through listening to Democrats and helping us actualize our plans.

Every indication suggests that Schumer and Pelosi had such an easy time handling him in regards to this most recent deal on the DACA program, because he wanted the same media members who he hates with such a passion to say pleasant things about him.

An outsider looking in would think it ludicrous. To suggest that a brand new president would feel the need to backtrack on a key campaign promise, alienate his core base, and grant a path to citizenship for the same 800,000 undocumented immigrants he was elected to deport, seems all but fantastical.  With Trump, however, it’s the simplest explanation- and therefore, probably the best one.

We got our fill of what True Trump voters call fun, after the Charlottesville tragedy that claimed the innocent life of our sister, Heather Heyer.  Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi’s unexpected initial success in getting Trump to sign off on a worthy plan has opened a door for a number of different policies.

Proposals which would otherwise never have been possible have been put on the president’s table by Democrats. Due to this, things are looking as good as they have, since before January 20. If the cost of this tendency continuing is the unhappiness of hardcore Trump supporters, it is the opinion of Millennial Democrats that we can afford it.
