Julian Assange Indicted! Cyber-Terrorist To Face American Justice.

Assange Indicted!

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been indicted by the United States! It’s a beautiful day for a neighbor.

This story’s release was not destined for the front page- at least, not right away. It was found in an unsealed court filing in an unrelated case. The document contained the phrase “Assange has already been charged”. What is thought to be a simple copy/paste error has got the entire world talking.

Assange is and has been a criminal and a digital terrorist worldwide. He also is a suspected rapist. Assange has now been hiding out in his Ecuadorian embassy home for two years. He is said to live in slovenly conditions and recently had to be ordered by the courts of Ecuador to feed his cat. Animal abuse, no less! It’s time to bring this man to justice.
Wikileaks, under his direction, has attempted to cut the throat of American intelligence time and time again. He has disrupted the functioning of our country in every way he’s been able to think up.
He was involved in helping Edward Snowden. He leaked Chelsea Manning’s documents. He leaked the DNC emails in 2016 that led to the rioting of Bernie Sanders supporters, an event that is said to have astounded the Russians with glee.
He is an enemy of America, and he made himself that way, for no real reason. He did this to himself for fame and glory. Still, American law has been hesitant to condemn him, for fear of setting a precedent of discouraging investigative journalism. It’s important to be decent, even when the guy you’re up against is not.
Assange claims to be neutral, both in general and in regard to our 2016 election, but every single leak ever released by his outlet was designed to hurt Hillary Clinton and no one else. He claimed that was because no data was ever sent to WikiLeaks, about the Sanders or Trump campaigns.
However, the decidedly non-neutral Roger Stone had what he called a “Perfectly Legal” back channel to Assange, who got the electronic documents from the entity known as Guccifer 2.0, who was later proven to be a Russian intelligence officer working for the GRU.
He “gave excuse after excuse” for refusing to publish a trove of documents related to corruption within the Russian government, according to chat logs obtained by Foreign Policy.
Assange has been in this position before, when he was younger, and he failed to learn from the experiences he had. He was a member of the Chaos Computer Club, a European collective infamous for stealing secrets from governments and selling them to the KGB for drugs and money.
Around this same time, in the 1980’s, Vladimir Putin was a young(and according to his old boss, extremely mediocre) lieutenant in the KGB. It is likely these two have known each other for a while.
Wikileaks, underneath the strategic command of Julian Assange, is an important part of a consistent and growing sequence of aggressive Russian attempts to rebuild at the expense of NATO and the United States.
His involvement in Brexit, and in the French elections between Macron and Le Pen parallel his efforts in our election. He has also been active in attempting to undermine and hamstring Angela Merkel. He is a willing and active participant in the worldwide far-right conspiracy being headed by Putin.
Lawfare’s Nicholas Weaver calls this whole process the weaponization of Wikileaks.
“Wikileaks doesn’t seem to care that they are being used as a weapon by unknown parties, instead calling themselves a ‘library of mass education’. But the rest of us should,” Weaver writes.

The evidence so far suggests it’s a weapon that Putin has used to great effect.

There is nothing more important than a free press, an independent press like the one Putin destroyed in Russia. That is not in question. But there is a big difference between journalism and doxing, and the difference is that one is edifying and one is malicious. One seeks to educate and enlighten, and the other seeks only to destroy. In the last analysis, intent speaks for itself, and you get what’s coming to you.

Humanitarian concerns keep us from wishing physical harm on the man. The death penalty is wrong, and torture is wrong, regardless of the circumstances, no matter how egregious the criminal. We don’t feel he should be waterboarded at Guantanamo- the hole at United States Penitentiary-Leavenworth is hard enough. And even though the slipup was actually revealed in a pedophilia case, it is important to note that Assange has only allegedly raped two women in Sweden. Those are two more of the reasons why he needs to be taken somewhere and tried.

When Ecuador first gave asylum to Assange, he was still a hero to many on the left, and to many opponents of “US imperialism”. This sentiment runs deep in South America, and not unjustly so. So he was given asylum; a very decent act on the part of Ecuador.

But that was before he started using their place to hack our elections and do harm to everyone who’s breathing. What a guy. If I were Assange, I would start a GoFundMe for commissary.

And I would feed my cat.

Bombs Sent to Democratic Leaders- Fascism Rising in America.

Fascism is on the rise in the Trump era.

Despicable cowards tried to murder all our greatest Democratic leaders today.

Having typed that sentence, I could finish the article here. Sometimes the facts argue themselves; that sentence and a headline tell you all you need to know about this whole situation, something the whole nation ought to be outraged about.

Pipe bombs were sent to Hillary Clinton in New York and Barack Obama in Washington.

A similar device was sent to philanthropist and lifelong enemy of fascism George Soros, according to the pair of law officers who gave the statement. How rotten, to do a thing like this to that old man, a man who lost his parents to the Holocaust.

Way to pay back a guy for his lifetime of good works by making him the center of a million nutty theories(for example, we do not write for Soros, no matter how many times we are reviled for it) and then sending him a bomb. We are living in a country full of real sickos. That much has become all too clear.

More bombs were sent to CNN, forcing the evacuation of its NYC offices. CNN journalists courageously kept the cameras rolling from the Manhattan sidewalk below.

Bombs were also sent to Eric Holder, former Obama administration Attorney General, former CIA director James Brennan, former DNC chairman and Floridian Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz of Florida, and Representative Maxine Waters all received bombs as well. If the guy who did it would not have been such a slob, we’d have lost all our leaders today.

This newest violence is the response to Trump’s big “I’m a (white) nationalist” crap the other day. He’s been doing this all along.

Donald Trump has been inciting his followers to violence for years. He smirked during the debates as he made reference to the Second Amendment, and how “maybe there is something you can do,” a clear incitement to political assassination!

The GOP statement deploring violence is just another sickening deplorable lie. It makes no sense to believe them. The right wing wants us dead. They’ve been out for physical, literal blood for years, at least since Barack Obama’s election.

They will never, ever forgive the people who dared to put a black man in a White House.

Recently the founder of a right-wing gang with a name that does not merit mention came out with a video inciting Trump supporters to violence. “We will kill you,” he says in the video segment, which went viral. Murdering swine.

The first article this blog ever published was called Chaos in Charlottesville, written in response to the sickening lowlife who murdered Heather Heyer, a disgusting footnote to the modern era- like these bombs. Or James T. Hodgkinson, the wingnut Bernie Sanders supporter who shot up the Congress last year.

Here we could care less if you’re wearing a red shirt or a black one. We are against all those who hide behind masks to go smash things up. It’s not the American way to bash brains in on the streets instead of voting. Foreign radicalism has never taken deep root here, which means socialism, communism, and most of all fascism- until now.

Make no mistake. These days, fascism is rearing its head. “We will kill you…”

It is our opinion that people should stop taking the survival of American democracy for granted.

We are not invincible. It can happen here, “it” meaning a fascist takeover. Trump, to all appearances, is actively signaling “it”, and his followers are preparing for it. And they are making progress like no right-wing nationalist has since Adolf Hitler.

We have got to get people to realize that we have got to wake up now, or we could end up flat on our backs for the rest of our lives- or worse.

If Nazi Germany was reborn today on American soil, it would be us all to suffer.

Some as members of unwanted groups, some as political prisoners. Some of us would go to American style Dachau type camps, while others will be forced into silence or shot. They would take all our data off of Facebook and use it to round us up. These things have happened elsewhere. It is time to ask ourselves the question, What if?

The Republicans have been gradually going down this road for more than a hundred years. Why should we assume it’s impossible for them to succeed? The Founding Fathers feared this above all else- the evils of faction, shredding a nation’s fiber.

Here at Millennial Democrats, we’ve been covering all this since the start. We have seen this develop, we have spoken out at every turn. We will be here as long as we can, spreading the word and raising awareness.

This is our country, which we value and love. We will not abandon her.

The Midterms And Beyond- A Democratic Future.

Millennial Democrats- The Future Is Ours!

Polls are showing that we Democrats are in a good, strong position going into the midterms. There are some problem areas, but we’re getting them worked out. By all indicators, we’re on track to retake at least the House of Representatives, something the nation’s future depends on.

In fact, it has become increasingly clear that the future of the nation depends largely on the future of the Democratic Party, since only Democrats seem to care about it. It has become critical for us to ask some questions about ourselves and where we’re going, after the midterms and beyond.

What is the nature of Democratic ideology? What does it mean to be a Democrat? This is something many of us have thought about a lot, especially since 2016. It has changed quite a bit over the years. Experience and study both have taught us to be wary of any ideology that requires a true believer. Thus, although it does not exist as a crystalline and brittle dogma, incapable of change, it does still have a form. And although it is profoundly sickening to dignify Trump’s raving with a well-thought out response,

That form is not called socialism. It has nothing to do with socialism. And it will never have anything to do with socialism, regardless of the slanders of Trump aimed at us that we’re all radicals. We are not.

The time-honored policies we’ve been using since Franklin Roosevelt, like that of nearly everyone in the western world, belong rightly to the tradition of Social Democracy. That is profoundly different from being a socialist, which even the most reputable and intelligent of leftist publications, Jacobin Magazine, is in total agreement with us on this matter; one headline of theirs we came across while researching this read simply, Democratic Socialism Isn’t Social Democracy.

The difference is simple. We want to retain our free market economy, and not hand it all over to bureaucrats. We also wish to see it tempered of its harshness by a social net of citizen relief.

That’s not what everyone wants, and I get that, although it’s hard to accept, especially now, when the stakes are so high. Democratic ideology means having respect for others, which means a certain amount of agreeing to disagree. We cannot try to force it! People must come around on their own. We’ve got to use reason, not ugliness. We don’t want to hurt anyone over the way they think, just the opposite. We need their help to do our share to ensure that our government is healthy and to be sure we remain realistic about its prospects.

Everybody’s got a set of ideologies these days, one sometimes feels, and many are meant to deliberately waylay and mislead. Many seem artificial. Others seem insensitive, and still others downright stupid. While utopian thinkers are thinking about their utopia, the world outside is going right along as it always has, regardless of anyone’s thoughts or ideas. Current events do not suggest it’s the right time to retreat into philosophy and get lost in obscurity.

We need to get out there and fight.

Revolutionary-minded people have their talking points in order. They will not take long in getting around to Robert Owen or the Paris Commune or what have you as examples that things might be otherwise because a few people wanted them to be; a few words about the former seem in order here. In 1825, Owen bought the town of New Harmony, Indiana and established a utopian colony there-or tried to.

New Harmony prospered at first. But it wasn’t long before the residents fell to quarreling about politics and religion. By 1828, it had failed. Sound familiar? If they’d have been short on resources it would have gone the way of the Donner Party. This why Sir Thomas More chose the word Utopia to describe his 1516 vision of a perfect society.

The word “utopia” is the Greek word for “nowhere”.

Socialists do not understand the nature of capitalism. They believe it to be a system of government. It is not. Capitalism is an entity! It is the raw, naked force, the self-governing force, of the free market itself. Economist Adam Smith called it the Invisible Hand, and observed the patterns it arranges society into.

Those patterns are the trouble with socialism, which asserts itself along unrealistic principles that are inconsistent with human behavior, which is not going to change overnight. Humans are heavily pattern-based creatures. We do the same things in every generation. Bees don’t just wake up one day and start building pyramid shaped hives, no matter how talented the beekeeper.

We have got to find a way to bring this realization home to all of our fellow Millennial Democrats before it’s too late. It’s as if some of us have been in a bubble ever since the 2016 primary election and Bernie Sanders, repeating the same slogans to each other left and right. It has led to other generations slandering us and considering us to be unintelligent and unrealistic.

This is incredibly wrong and unfair. Once the dialogue begins, most of us are fair and decent, just as much so as anyone else. We are capable of thinking with reason. How dare we be held accountable for the conduct of the six-hundred-year-old Bernie? We’re going to be fine, thank you very much.

All we have to do is point out some basic things to one another.

We have to understand that socialism means state ownership, which is synonymous with public ownership but doesn’t sound as nice. It means to build an apparatus so huge that people can hardly fill it, and then hand over the keys to completely untested and radical persons. This has not gone well in the past. The entire systemic concept makes socialism, by its very nature, highly subject to despotism. We must come to thoroughly understand this.

Although the two terms sound alike, a massive gulf exists between the socialistic nightmares of Franz Kafka and social democracy, the highly decent governmental system that made the meatpacking industry in Chicago clean its act up after Upton Sinclair wrote The Jungle.

Social democracy, by the way, is the free-market model used by Nordic nations such as Sweden. Another term for it is Nordic capitalism. There is no socialism involved. Period. Bernie’s praise of their system’s accomplishments was just and correct but he didn’t understand what he was praising. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t either, but we believe there’s hope for her. She’s got a good heart. She’s just got to cut out all this nonsense about socialism.

The process of trade and money started up in society right away. It was the reason society was necessary. Capitalism is raw desire, and without society, it walked around in the hearts of cavemen, snatching from the others where it could. It was brutal, but it also allowed us to compete with more powerful forms of life. We realized back then that what makes us great is also what makes us dangerous. The human being is a sword with many edges.

There’s certainly no getting rid of capitalism. It exists and appears to be an integral part of human culture. So what to do with it? This has been the question since before humans wore pants. It came at the cost of two World Wars and a galaxy of other atrocities, but at this point, humans have channeled capitalism and made it work for us, and it has given us everything we have, problems and progress alike.

Every form of social organization, every form of government, is an attempt to give capitalism a saddle and riders. In America, we have the strength of the Roman Republic shoring up the walls of Greek democracy. Six thousand years of societal evolution has combined to give us the advantage we enjoy, as a nation. All we have to do is just take care of it.

And we’re going to give that up for- what, exactly? The half-baked regurgitations of Marx and Lenin that the far left has been shouting for these last few decades? Their “plan” is equivalent to cutting the basket ropes of a hot air balloon you are in because the sun is getting in your eyes. Destructive and ineffective. For all the disasters you cause in the process of cutting those ropes, the sun will still be in your eyes.

In the last analysis, regardless of who tries what, our nations and empires follow the same cycles of death and rebirth that our bodies do. During those cycles, the same things have happened in every generation. Most of them are not very nice.

Howard Zinn’s People’s History of the United States does a great job of illustrating just how ugly those struggles can get. Hundreds and hundreds of pages, and on each a grocery list of vivid atrocities. Yet still, somehow amid the dung-pile, he finds grounds to claim that humans can just unlearn it all, that we can just lay down and retire the entire concept of a State since people in a mob are so obviously capable of being objective and fair.

Most of us can’t even quit drinking caffeine.

Discussions about the nature of government have become much more common and much more critical for millennials than ever before. We must succeed where Bernie failed, and learn to correctly identify not only socialism, but also capitalism and understand its nature as an entity.

I ask you, readers- Have you ever read or seen Dune? The book, by Frank Herbert, the movie by David Lynch? If not, consider the recommendation made. It provides a perfect metaphor for the relationship between government, capitalism, and society.

Society is the Fremen sandriders. Capitalism is the sandworm. The government is the hooks they used to control where the sandworm goes.

The socialists want to act like the sandworm is not there, even while its jaws snap shut around them. They’d like it all to be theories and talk, and they ignore the grim realities behind many of their ideas. They think it’s just people waving hooks around and desert. They are slowing down the rest of us, in our quest to keep from being eaten.

On the other hand, the Republicans think that letting the sandworms go about without the hooks is good, which is so ridiculous and crude as to make a man throw up. In essence, both the right wing and the far left wing, are completely nuts. We need the government to regulate things, and this is why. We just don’t want to give it all the power. We’ll get by all right, we just have to keep moving forward together. Like Hillary Clinton said.

As John Locke said, the goal of government is not to restrict or negate the rights of man. It’s to ensure them. Even the most cursory glance at our sad yet vibrant history is enough to explain why we must have one. So let’s cut out all the nonsense and pining for the hunter-gatherer days and big revolutions and get to work cleaning our backyards. We can argue over terminology after we take back the House of Representatives.

There’s an enormous amount of work to do before a meaningful change will come to America, and most of it will not be done in our lifetimes. We can’t change that, but we can carry our load as best as we’re able, and we can be the change we want to see in the meantime. In a Democrat’s ideology, that is good enough. We don’t need to rise up in revolution; random acts of violence are not the answer. The answer is to look at the world in a spirit of love and kindness and to vote a straight Democratic ticket. In this election, and in every other.

The Last Nail-Manafort To Cooperate With Mueller in Trump-Proof Deal.

Paul Manafort and his adoring public.

Paul Manafort, the man who has been seen as the key to understanding what Donald Trump’s role in Russia’s interference in our 2016 presidential election was, has finally figured out he’s not getting a pardon and agreed to cooperate with Robert Mueller, according to Kevin Downing, his attorney.

Last Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson formally accepted Manafort’s guilty plea, to two felony conspiracy counts.

This news was not unexpected, and in fact, probably represents the last nail in the coffin of the Trump presidency. It comes on the heels of Manafort’s courthouse defeat in Virginia last month, in which he was convicted on eight more felony charges. A mistrial was declared on the other ten counts, but the government reserves the right to retry them.

Manafort seems finally to have had enough. He has tapped out.

Ken Starr, the semi-pornographer who led the investigation into President Bill Clinton, said Sunday he was not surprised to see the former Trump campaign manager cooperate. “He was under tremendous pressure,” said Starr, a former judge.

No doubt, buddy.

White House Special Counsel for Ethics and Government Reform in the Obama administration, Norman Eisen, has predicted that Trump will not survive Manafort’s testimony.

Eisen, the Obama ethics lawyer, said there is a possibility Manafort will lead prosecutors to Trump. T.S. Ellis, the presiding judge in Manafort’s Virginia trial, reproached Mueller’s team last spring for trying to “get something on President Trump”, and implying that was the goal of prosecuting Manafort for tax and bank fraud in the first place.

Ellis took a sympathetic stance viz. Manafort many times during that trial, in our opinion, but he was found guilty on eight counts anyway, and he was facing yet another trial this month. Trump’s pat on the head for his “bravery” was not, apparently, worth doing life in prison for. Manafort has finally had enough.

And thus did the lone holdout, the one man perceived beyond all others to hold the key to understanding all of this, finally collapse. With it, Trump’s presidency is almost certain to fall as well.

Here at Millennial Democrats, we weren’t quite around to report on it last year when Donald Trump Jr.’s infamous meeting at Trump Tower with Kremlin-linked attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya to get dirt on Hillary Clinton, which Mueller is said to have taken a keen interest in, was discovered.

But we were around when the New York Times reported last September that Manafort was informed of his impending indictment in August, during an early-morning raid at his Virginia home.

We were present a third time when the special counsel Robert Mueller gave Trump an early Christmas present, by way of getting the cooperation of Ret. Gen. Michael Flynn, a man who was at another famous meeting, this one in Russia with Manafort and Jill Stein– and Vladimir Putin.

All of these were nails in the coffin. After that, they started falling like rain. Rick Gates, Sam Nunberg, and so on. This time, however, we’re not just discussing another nail. We’re discussing the final nail.

If you were online and using social media, particularly Facebook, in 2016 and saw this whole thing taking place before your eyes, you probably tried to tell people.

The people you told probably rolled their eyes, especially when you told them about Bernie Sanders‘ campaign being involved(Bernie’s old manager Tad Devine was the first witness called at Manafort’s trial), and you got that. You knew you probably sounded paranoid, but just the same. Something was going on, and sooner or later, the authorities would get involved.

We just hoped it would be in time to salvage the election. It was not.

Manafort’s agreeing to cooperate represent the culmination of nearly two years worth of effort, at this point, and for those of us who have followed the Russiagate developments, nothing could ever possibly come as a better piece of news.

Later on Friday, we saw Mueller’s plea agreement with Manafort on Friday take all-but-unprecedented steps to undercut Trump’s ability to pardon his former campaign chairman. He Trump-proofed it by making sure Manafort knows that if he does accept a pardon, the government will take everything he owns.

To the kind of guy who would spend twelve grand on a pocketwatch, no punishment could be worse.

Good bye, Donald.

The Kavanaugh Confirmation- Two Minutes to Midnight.

#StopTheConfirmation

Last week Senator Dianne Feinstein referred information regarding a claim of serious sexual assault committed by Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh’s alleged victim had intended to remain anonymous, but on Sunday morning, she stepped forward. “I was in fear for my life during that encounter,” she said.

On Sunday, psychologist Christine Blasey Ford came forward as the author. Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegations- but it’s not really looking very good for him. Years of psychotherapy notes confirm it, and she even went so far as to have a polygraph done on herself.

She passed, too. One wonders if Kavanaugh will have the same amount of guts.

Senate judiciary proceedings relating to the confirmation hearings of Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, got off to a rough start for the Republicans on their first day, and things have not improved for them. Our Democratic leadership has been out there in full effect the whole time.

Rising star Kamala Harris led the first round of protests, making sure Chuck Grassley was unable to continue moving the hearing along until Kavanaugh cut out his weaseling and answered her question. She was great and we are very proud of her.

Senator Patrick Leahy did an op-ed piece for the Washington Post on Thursday, eloquently stating his case for why he will never support Kavanaugh for a seat on our Supreme Court.

He brought to light a number of instances of Kavanaugh’s involvement in old e-mail scandals that predated Hillary Clinton, back when a bunch of them got stolen from Democratic senators during the W. Bush administration, and said he “cast aside truth in pursuit of raw ambition.”

“Unimpeachable integrity must never be optional,” Leahy wrote in a powerfully worded op-ed published by the Washington Post.

Our issue with Kavanaugh not only that he may very well repeal Roe vs. Wade and make abortion illegal again- which would kill many women. It’s also that they’re covering up his background so we can’t see who he is. It’s bad enough when they do that with people who are running for President or Congress. Supreme Court justices serve for life.

It’s obviously important, regardless of the petty attempts on the part of Lindsey Graham and others to label our patriotic instincts as sour grapes.

It certainly is a bad thing that Russia and our domestic radical right got together and broke every law there is to steal the election and leave an illegitimate wreck in the White House, but this has nothing to do with that except to note it as a side effect.

The issue of how powerful the American judiciary is cannot be overstated. Of the three branches of our government, it is by far the strongest. The Supreme Court has the power of judicial review, meaning they have to approve any legislature before it becomes law. They can shoot holes in anything any president or Congress tries to do.

The supreme power in the land is the judiciary, hence the term Supreme Court. We don’t want this guy to have it.

Kavanaugh has done a lot of partisan work in Washington- for the Republicans. He was even in on the cheap trick that was Kenneth Starr’s attempt to take down Bill Clinton. And he’s replacing Anthony Kennedy, who had a special place in the heart of Trump and his pals.

Kennedy’s son was leading a real-estate division of Deutsche Bank at the time it gave Trump over a billion dollars in loans to finance his projects when other banks wouldn’t.

It seems clear that raised eyebrows are not out of place here.

Kavanaugh is yet another old white male conservative who will drag the Supreme Court even further right than it is already. This is already the most conservative Supreme Court in American history. They recently held up one of Trump’s travel bans. Kavanaugh will make it worse. That is why we are fighting this so hard and will continue to do so.

On Thursday California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee released a statement regarding her referral of information regarding Kavanaugh’s nomination to the FBI, who conducts background checks on potential government employees.

Turned out it was a sexual assault allegation. What a surprise. What a pack of jackals like this is doing in our government is beyond me. It’s bad enough we’ve got to share a planet with them.

Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin called for a delay, saying the Judiciary panel should not vote on Kavanaugh “until all the information is before the committee.” Thank heaven some of our leaders have sense.
Even if he gets in, we’re going to keep fighting, and sooner or later we’ll think up a way to figure something out. In the meantime, we’ll just keep raising awareness. Kavanaugh is not to be trusted.

Anonymous Op-Ed- “Senior Trump Official” Goes For Deep Throat 2.0.

Trump's Anonymous Official.

So by now, everyone knows about the anonymous op-ed published by the New York Times by an unnamed White House senior administration official describing inner resistance to Trump and his policies, from deep within the innards of the White House. Days later, it’s still causing plenty of trouble.

Trump wants our Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, to investigate it with the Justice Department- but that might be a little strange, as Sessions is in second place in the battle for frontrunner as to who wrote it.  is that wrote the article.

Mike Pence is first.

Highlights from the piece include the unsurprising news that many consider the president to be “amoral.” Bob Woodward’s recent book on the inner workings of the Trump administration, Fear, makes an identical claim.

The writer of the piece says there’s a few of them, all working against Trump from within, “to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”

It does appear to be the case that nobody working for Trump much enjoys it. John Kelly reportedly said it’s the worst job he’s ever had and opined sadly that “God must be punishing me for something.” There are little kids in dog kennels on the border that might give you an answer to that question, General, but that’s another story.

Bob Corker called the piece “unsurprising“, and said that anyone could have written it. That also seems clear. Op-ed is op-ed, and this whole thing has caused some reflection in the heart of this Millennial Democrats contributor.

I’m not sure I like this whole thing so much. I don’t like how that guy was talking, really. It reminds me of a lot of things I’ve heard Trump complain about, deep state resistance to him and his policies. Republicans believe it has backfired, and pushed Trump into an even more paranoid and conspiracy-minded state.

There are too many sources for it to be a conspiracy, of course, or the Times would never have published it. It just seems awfully convenient for the nutty theories of Trump supporters.

They’re all denying it left and right, but at this moment, Mike Pompeo seems like the guy to me. It’s the way he talks. Boastful, big proclamations. Earlier this year he testified before the Senate. “We’re not soft on Russia! Killed a couple hundred Russians, just last February“- as if dead people is what we want instead of fair elections.

That’s just like now. Way to feed the conspiracy theory machine, buddy.

At any rate, people in Washington, DC are actually betting on this, and there are theories floating around about identifying the guy based on his language.

There’s been some talk about the word “lodestar” as making this a shoo-in for Pence, but I doubt it. I’m guessing they have all picked up each other’s verbiage by this point, that tends to happen with people you’re around with a whole lot, especially when you all are pretty much in a bubble compared to the rest of the world.

I know that from the 2016 elections.

It seems like the guy who wrote that article was trying to reassure himself more than he was trying to reassure us, the ostensible purpose of the article. It’s obvious that he’s going through some changes about it, but what are you going to do?

To whoever it was who wrote that article, we would like to say this to you: You work for the Trump administration, dude. You’re not coming out of this a hero.

You should not have taken the job, to begin with. You should have pitched in with the real Resistance, the one you mocked in your paean to self-apology, to help stop the man in the first place. Ask yourself what you did to ensure the victory of Hillary Clinton in 2016. That’s the only thing that really matters.

We may not know who wrote this yet, but even amidst all this confusion, one thing is crystal clear. From the tone of the article, you can clearly hear that they’re feeling the pressure worse than we are. That is the big takeaway here, and its true significance in regards to the election.

If even “senior Trump administration officials” are wavering so badly, then now is the time for us to reach out and link hands with the Never Trump conservatives, not to mention everybody else who’s on the fence. People are waking up.

They will be more open to the raising of awareness in the aftermath of all this than they ever have been before, and our message for all of them is this: It’s not too late. You cannot change the past, but you can still help avert the disaster looming before us in the future. We will gladly work with you to Make the United States America again.

Bernie’s Old Manager Tad Devine Called As Witness In Manafort Trial.

Bernie, his campaign manager Tad Devine, and Trump's campaign manager Paul Manafort.

One of the chief strategists of Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, Tad Devine, has finally gotten a phone call from Robert Mueller.

He has been listed as one of 35 witnesses who will be called to the stand in the upcoming trial of Paul Manafort to provide information about their lobbying activities in Ukraine, where he was Manafort’s right-hand man for many years.

The Devine-Mueller conflict has been coming for a long time, because of the strong Russian support for Bernie Sanders, and because he is a former business partner in Manafort’s lobbying operation.

He and Manafort have been working together for a long time, at least since 2004, the year the Orange Revolution took place in Ukraine.

At that time they both were the property of Ukraine’s notoriously corrupt and incompetent president, Viktor Yanukovych.

That revolution took place because Yanukovych, who hired both Manafort and Devine as chief political advisors during their 2004 election, was so corrupt and the election so obviously fixed.

In 2010, when the future Sanders adviser began working for Yanukovych, he and his Party of Regions had already been suspected of poisoning their political rivals and murdering journalists.

He, in turn, was the property of Vladimir Putin. It’s not hard to see the trickle-down effect at work.

This was not the only time recently that Tad Devine’s name has come up in connection with Paul Manafort’s– or Robert Mueller’s.

A list of exhibits filed in a Virginia federal court last Wednesday contained a number of interesting pieces of data, including emails between the two.

Another one was his name being plastered all over phone calls with both Manafort and Konstantin Kilimnik, who is Manafort’s Ukrainian employee.

Kilimnik is the guy they call Manafort’s Manafort, a reference to the fact that as Manafort has long been considered the key to understanding Trump’s role in all this. Kilimnik is thought to be the key to understanding Manafort’s.

Last week a picture of Paul and Tad popped up, sitting next to each other in Ukraine, all smiles. Their buddy Kilimnik, who Manafort tried getting to go tamper with witnesses for him, was right there too.

It seems crystal clear. These are the guys who cooked this up. Together. Soon there will be solid proof.

When Robert Mueller’s team first unearthed this, back in February, the Justice Department released an indictment related to Russia’s interference in our election. It had a lot of very interesting information, including these words from Russian intelligence.

“Use any opportunity to criticize Hillary and the rest (except Sanders and Trump—we support them).”

It’s so similar to what happened in 2016 that it’s eerie. The only difference was that in 2004, Manafort and Devine were working together directly, whereas in 2016 they were ostensibly opposed to one another.

That is very convenient for the enemy.

In the end, Bernie lost by four million votes, although you will still hear the embittered remnants of Bernie or Bust complaining about superdelegates having cost Bernie the election.

The Russians did all they could to encourage that narrative.

An unreal percentage of the Facebook groups formed in support of Bernie Sanders were infiltrated and administered by foreign hackers(often Macedonian) who were there for no reason other than to spread slander and lies about Hillary Clinton.

It worked.

Ten percent of the Sanders campaign were those who signed the Bernie or Bust petition. Likewise, ten percent of Bernie’s voters ended up voting for Trump.

Those very same sad sack Busters were juicy prey for the Russians, who seem to have known they would be, right from Day One. They couldn’t have planned it better.

The primary medium they used to reach our people was Facebook, which in many ways is a world unto itself. Back then it was overrun with accounts who had convinced themselves fanatically that Bernie was a shoo-in to win.

They were deeply hurt and angry when he did not, so much so that they turned the last few months of the primary into an absolutely miserable time, filled with acrimony and division.

While Hillary Clinton was celebrating a hard-fought victory, and Paul Simon played the first notes of Bridge Over Troubled Waters, the Bernie supporters got so mad that they rioted in the streets of Philadelphia. They caused a schism in the Democratic Party that we are still healing from.

Why? Because Wikileaks dumped hacked DNC emails showing Debbie Wasserman-Schultz fussing over Bernie’s inability to fill out campaign forms.

On a side note, it is our extreme pleasure to report that Julian Assange, that foul organization’s leader, is facing imminent expulsion from Ecuadorian embassy he’s been hiding in like a rat these past few years.

The question is, to whose benefit? Who stirred them up so much, and why was it so effective? How could they have been so convinced he would win a completely lost battle? It didn’t add up, and at the time it really felt wrong. On every level.

Once the reports on the Russian cyber-tactics used in 2016 started coming out, and we started seeing them describe the things we had all experienced, it all fell right into place.

And once we started looking into it closely we saw examples everywhere. Just about as often as the name of Tad Devine.

Around September 14 in 2016, for example, one “account specialist” of a Russian-controlled Facebook group called “Secured Borders” was reprimanded for having a “low number of posts dedicated to criticizing Hillary Clinton.”

The specialist was also told, “it is imperative to intensify criticizing Hillary Clinton.

A personal anecdote. The editor of Millennial Democrats was online alongside legions of others, out there for HRC from 2015 onward, every day, for many hours. Anyone who was there back then can tell you.

It can be stated categorically that there was a tangible, palpable disinformation campaign going on, particularly on Facebook.

The time has come for America to look objectively at this whole situation, through the eyes of Robert Mueller, and to do what it takes to remedy it. That means traveling across party lines, and going wherever the trail leads.

It has been our opinion for a long time that trail will eventually highlight Tad Devine as the Russians’ man inside the campaign of Bernie Sanders. Now that his role has been revealed, many an important piece of this puzzle is about to start falling into place.

As this story continues to develop, we’ll be keeping you posted on all of it.

Conservatives File To Impeach AG Rosenstein, Set Sights On Robert Mueller.

Conservatives target Rosenstein in transparent ploy.

A handful of conservatives in Congress officially filed articles of impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Wednesday, a move they have been threatening for months.

The introduction was made by Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina, who is the chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, and Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio.

Meadows and Jordan have been critical of Rosenstein and the Justice Department for various reasons, all of which are completely insincere.

The real reason they are after Rosenstein is that he has overseen the special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe since Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself.

A few months ago Steve Bannon was on TV for the first time since Breitbart let him go. He was on there to offer Trump some strategy tips as to how to end the investigation into Russian involvement with the Donald Trump campaign.

He suggested that to do this, the White House should stop cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller, who is handling the probe.

And he suggested that he fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

That has been the simplest path out of this for them from the start.

As part of a broader inquiry into possible obstruction of justice, Mueller is examining Trump’s conduct from the beginning of his presidency and before.

He is preparing to make a recommendation whether the actions add up to attempts to obstruct the investigation, specifically intimidating witnesses, and attempting to put the screws on senior law enforcement officials to tamp down the inquiry.

Trump is terrified of what may come. That is why they are after Rosenstein.

In related news, CBS News’ Paula Reid has confirmed that Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, is willing to tell special counsel Robert Mueller that the president knew in advance of a June 2016 Trump Tower meeting involving Mr. Trump’s son, top campaign officials and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

None of this will come as much of a surprise to the regular readers of this blog. Mueller is looking into Trump’s old tweets attacking Sessions and former FBI director James Comey, who wants to act like a Resister now but who hamstrung Hillary Clinton two Novembers ago. As Michael Avenatti tweeted today, the evidence appears to be there.

Speaking of Avenatti, he’ll be representing three more women Trump allegedly paid off in the months to come. Another piece of good news is that Trump’s organization finance chief has been called before a federal grand jury.

The real question is, what comes next? At this point, it’s still anybody’s guess.

For Robert Mueller, a lot of work. He’s hiring new prosecutors.

For us, getting ready.

A piece published Thursday afternoon by the Daily Beast shows that Russia is already trying to hack the 2018 midterm elections.

They got caught going after Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), who is one of our best people, and up for reelection this year. Malware was sent as emails to a McCaskill aide from a server that likely belongs to Fancy Bear, the same Russian intelligence group that did many of the 2016 hacks.

We’ve been here before, and we know where this is going. We have seen the tactics of the enemy, and we know how to spot them. In the months to come, we’re going to be focusing in more and more on the midterm elections and the cyber-education that will come with keeping them safe.

There’s one other thought that comes to mind, also- It’s all for nothing if we don’t go vote. We’ve been resisting together all this time, down in the trenches. We have probably got this, so long as we do not let up. For a little while longer, at the very least, we have got to hold it together and get by as best we can. See you in the mix!

Tad Devine Of Sanders Campaign Spotted In Photo With Key Manafort Aide.

Top consultant to the Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign Tad Devine, hanging out with Paul Manafort and Konstatin Kilimnik.

Tad Devine, a former senior advisor to the Bernie Sanders 2016 campaign, was in the news recently for the first time in a while. He was spotted in an old 2006 photograph enjoying himself with his then-coworker Konstantin Kilimnik.

In the picture, Kilimnik, a Ukrainian native, is pictured in an office setting with Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort and other key players in Manafort’s consulting firm at the time. One of those players was Tad Devine.

Kilimnik is known informally as “Manafort’s Manafort“, and has been a figure of interest in the Russia investigation from the start. He is believed to be back in Russia now, and he is considered to have strong ties to Russian intelligence.

Tad Devine is a figure of great interest in the Russiagate investigation, in our opinion. We’ve been expecting the special counsel assigned by the Justice Department to look into Russian meddling in our 2016 election cycle, Robert Mueller, to get around to him sooner or later.

If Manafort is the key to understanding exactly what the Russians were doing for Trump, Kilimnik is the key to understanding what Manafort did for the Russians. Devine is the key to what the Russians were doing for Bernie. He is by far the most likely connection between the Russians and the Sanders campaign.

Although it has been very hard for Sanders followers to face this, it is our opinion that Devine too was working with the Russians and that Sanders most likely knew he was getting help from Russians to defeat Hillary Clinton. That help came in some very strange ways.

By the time the Fourth of July rolled around in 2016, the Federal Election Commission repeatedly contacted the Sanders campaign with warnings that hundreds of his donors exceeded the $2,700 contribution limit, and that hundreds more may have been foreign nationals illegally giving Sanders money.

One of the letters they wrote him flagged more than 1,500 questionable donors. Soon after, Tad Devine was paid almost a million dollars in one month by the Bernie Sanders campaign.

Devine has known Manafort and Kilimnik for many years. He was Manafort’s right-hand man in Ukraine right alongside Kilimnik, at a time when all three were the property of Viktor Yanukovych, the former President of Ukraine, whom in turn was the property of Putin. They were over there fixing elections for him.

More than a decade before Russia was accused of surreptitiously trying to tilt the presidential election toward Trump, the records show that Manafort, Devine, and Kilimnik were all encouraging Russia to hone its efforts to influence global politics. They were busy developing techniques they might use to help that process along.

They used these techniques to fix the 2004 Ukranian elections on behalf of Yanukovych, but they were so blatant in their corruption that the Orange Revolution began and overturned the crooked and invalid vote. Yanukovych was defeated in the second vote.

None of this mattered to Tad Devine, however, who kept right along working for Yanukovych.

Even after his rival, Viktor Yushchenko, barely survived a poisoning attempt, obliging him to “campaign with his face half paralyzed and a catheter inserted into his back to inject painkillers into his spine”, Devine’s conscience did not serve him well as a guide. He decided to hang around.

We know that the Russians had been plotting to interfere for more than a year before the election took place. The Steele Dossier said the Russians have been cultivating Trump for at least five.

It is a very convenient coincidence that three of the top strategists who ran against Hillary Clinton has been doing Putin’s bidding in this capacity for longer than a decade.

Last Thursday afternoon there was a meeting of the Senate Intelligence Committee on the subject of Russian meddling into our 2016 election cycle.

During it, Retired Gen. Keith Alexander, former director of the National Security Agency, said that Russian operatives targeted both liberal and conservative voters in its disinformation campaigns during the 2016 election.

Democratic committee co-chair Sen. Mark Warner (VA) asked the panel if they had any doubt that Russia had attempted to interfere in some aspects of the 2016 election. Alexander said not only did he have no doubt, he could get very specific.

“Senator, I think what they were trying to do was drive a wedge within the Democratic Party between the Clinton group and the Sanders group,” said Alexander.

The supporters of Bernie Sanders were ruthlessly taken advantage of by the Russians, who used their genuine zeal and idealism as a hammer for smashing Democratic unity to bits. They were duped by false information that came from within the Kremlin itself, and thus unwittingly became Putin’s other puppets.

The man who was in the best position to act as a conduit between the headquarters of the Sanders campaign and the Kremlin was Tad Devine.

This picture provides a vivid reminder of what Democratic activists on Facebook and Twitter have been warning everyone about in the direst of terms since 2015, namely, that the Bernie Sanders campaign was just as lousy with Russian entanglements as the Trump campaign was.

Tad Devine may well hold the final piece of the puzzle as to how the whole rotten Russian conspiracy was put together. As Robert Mueller continues his journey to this discovery, our prayers will be with him.

A Great Primary For The Democratic Party-Congress Braces for Blue Wave!

I Voted!

June 5, 2018, the “Super Tuesday” of the 2018 primary election cycle, was a great day for the Democratic Party.

The Blue Wave is gathering more momentum than ever, as our battle for control of Congress saw us pave the way for retaking the House of Representatives in several impassioned struggles to retake House seats in California and New Jersey.

Democrats also claimed victory in a Missouri state Senate seat Tuesday in our 42nd red-to-blue since Donald Trump took office.

There were also revealing elections in the Midwest and the South, underscoring the depth of Trump’s corrupting of the Republican Party and the different ways Democratic strategists intend to break their grip on red-state America.

Democratic women continued taking America by storm; it could not be more clear that 2018 is the year of the Democratic woman! After Hillary Clinton was cheated out of her rightful place in the White House, we needed leaders, and we got them. We are very proud of them.

The primaries, which took place in states all over the country, also underscored once and for all the defeat of the Bernie Sanders wing of the party. They’re done.

The New York Times said this morning that the results in yesterday’s primaries were a big win for the Democratic Party at the expense of the extreme left, and that pretty much says it all. They put up a good fight a few times, we’d like to congratulate them on that, and now it is time to move on. We need each other.

A big part of these victories came down to due diligence. Democrats have been working very hard, every single day, ever since the 2016 elections came to their catastrophic end. We dug our foxholes deeply, and we shored up our trenches well. We were ready for this.

All along, we’ve been concentrating our efforts on the construction of both devices and teams to run them. This serves the purpose of strengthening the larger Democratic coalition. Incidentally, this is how and why Millennial Democrats was born.

The goal is to get people to understand that they’ve got family ties with the other members of this resistance. We have fought a war together. We have worked hard to get out our message and to create teams capable of disseminating solid information.

Last night we proved what we can do when we all work together, by succeeding admirably in that goal in races all over the nation.

Democrats don’t need fake news. The real facts are universally in our favor. All we have to do is raise awareness. We have good answers to tough problems and have all along. We have a fantastic, progressive platform, and we have the means and expertise needed to achieve our goals. That is the difference.

For eighteen months and a week, we have all had to suffer through the daily pandemonium that is life under Donald Trump, and people are getting fed up. They are looking for a sane and decent alternative. That is what we have to offer.

When we show up at the polls next fall, we’re going to get our chance to show the world. I’m proud to be a part of that.
