Far-Right Resignations in Austria & Elsewhere- Rats Jump Off Putin’s Sinking Ship.

Far-right Austrian minister caught conspiring with Russia resigns.

The Austrian government has purged itself of would-be far-right Nazis, who were diligent enough to resign en masse. Every far-right Freedom Party minister in the Austrian government has resigned. Austria’s Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache was the first to go. He resigned on May 18 over a scandal he caused while colluding with Russia to subvert his nation’s government. They caught him on a sting tape.

Unfortunately for Mr. Strache, his transgression appeared over the weekend in a video from 2017. He probably wasn’t very happy to be watching it. It showed him on the Spanish island of Ibiza, offering government contracts to a woman who claimed to be the niece of a Russian oligarch. Strache’s party has a cooperation agreement with Russian president Vladimir Putin, just like Marine Le Pen of France did.

These countries, in our opinion, should not just let the Russians do whatever they want in their electoral system, which I have always disliked, but it does seem to help them not get taken off guard by this kind of thing. They’re used to it, and it’s not unexpected.

Strache is gone, which is both positive and sadly ironic. It’s sad he was allowed in that position in the first place. Austria is where Adolf Hitler was actually from, not Germany. It’s positive because, well, anytime there are fewer Nazis someplace, that’s positive. This, we can accept on faith as an axiomatic statement. But it’s sad at the same time, because, well, how quickly we forget! In Germany proper, you’re not allowed to go around spouting Nazi filth anymore. They’ll stick you in a cell for that, although it’ll be in a prison, not a death camp. Why not in Austria? In fact, why not everyplace? A prison is a great place for Nazis in any country.

They should be very grateful that not all of the rest of us are just like them. If we were they’d all be dead.

Getting back on topic, my guess is that what we saw Strache doing on that tape is something he knew full well was illegal, not just something “dumb”, like he tried to say on his way out the door. It was for the same reason I think Paul Manafort never left America, although of course, that is speculative.

He didn’t think his alt-right team was going to lose.

Keep in mind, this was 2017. The alt-right had it all back then. Trump was in office over here, having just begun his term. German chancellor, the interim head of the free world Angela Merkel was being severely attacked by that nation’s alt-right primarily by the Free Democratic Party(FDP). These were the chief culprits, of course. But Merkel was also besieged from a different angle, through Martin Schulz, a far-left, Putin-backed and financed candidate who was called the “Bernie Sanders of Russia“.

The list goes on. Marine Le Pen was still giving Macron a hard time in France. and Austrian far-right leader Norbert Hofer came closer to winning a major election than any far-right candidate has since the end of World War II. All over Europe and elsewhere, far-right militarists who were friends of Putin began taking power. Jinping Xi of China, whose state capitalist system is a more efficient version of the Russians, back then called Putin his “most closest, most dearest friend”.

Certainly, the momentum was there, and they were, for a day, riding the crest of a swastika’s black, white, and red wave. The colors were to replace those of America. They wanted this and dreamed about it, and they thought Putin would be able to get it for them. They even manipulated unwitting dupes of the far left on board with ripping up Democrats

Viewed in this context, of course members of Austria’s far-right would be open to cooperating with Russia. Why wouldn’t they be? They thought he was going to build them a new world, one they’d be on top of. Le Pen summed up their viewpoint very well, hailing him as the herald of what she said was a “stone in the building of a new world destined to replace the old one.” She flicked her wrist around the room with the utmost contempt, as if to indicate what Trump would soon be washing away.

Not long after, one of their guys, a nameless trash can killed a girl named Heather Heyer at a now-infamous rally in Charlottesville, Virginia by running her down with a van, and they all cheered about it, and marched around afterward harassing those who prepared a quiet candle vigil for her. It made them feel strong, to murder a woman. Trump told them they were “very good people” and said not a word about what he had done.

How strong do you chumps feel now?

That was all before the FBI arrested George Papadopoulos and kicked in Michael Cohen‘s door, though. Once they arrested Paul Manafort, and still Trump used his pardoning power on no one but Joe Arpaio, the sadistic Arizona sheriff who built concentration camps in the desert for the prisoners of Phoenix, they must have gotten to thinking.

Every time a member of the alt-right has second thoughts about putting their ideology higher in their value system than their behinds and bails, they inspire a few more of their buddies to join them. One by one, and finally in droves, their “brothers” and them all disappeared. Every one of them was a crack in the reservoir for Putin. Now that guys like Strache are actually resigning because of things he made them do, we can look for that crack to widen rapidly.

Sooner or later, that levee’s going to break.

As soon as the incels and other alt-rightists all see that he can’t protect them, they’ll realize they only have three choices, like in the Choose Your Own Adventure books we millennials read as little kids. There are all kinds of different ways to go at first, but sooner or later they all run together, and then there’s only a few, leading to the same three options every time.

Failure, success, or death.

These guys have seen now that Putin is not going to usher in the new world order. He can’t even keep Russia’s roads up, and even Hitler did that. He’s got a lot of money and Russia’s military is not completely worthless, but compared to the titanic might of the United States he’s just a paper tiger. Our guys can rip him up any time they feel like it, and now all these pretenders are starting to know it.
Given that, there are only three adventures to choose from. And we know how they end.
They can be George Papadopoulos, a young guy with six months in the can and his life back together already, mistake learned from and in the past. Or they can be Paul Manafort, nearly seventy years old and sentenced to seventeen years in prison with two other cases pending, undoubtedly with massive penalties to follow as well
As judges and juries tend to love their countries as much as others do, it’s not unreasonable for a guy like that to be frightened about what they’re going to do to them. Even if you’re a fair-minded professional, it’s hard not to hate a traitor. As famed Roman orator Cicero said, “A murderer is less to be feared”. We refrain from harboring that hatred for our own sakes, not for theirs, and they know it.
These are all the reasons why, by 2018, the alt-right was dead worldwide. Over. Remember the American ones, the guys who ran r/the_donald on Reddit? Their leaders took their money and were gone like the wind.
Richard Spencer, for example. We all remember him. I’ve got an anecdote about this one. A former alt-right individual whose name I promised not to reveal had had some second thoughts and wrote into us one day on Facebook in a message that was then sent over to me. He spent a lot of time with me one afternoon, ripping up his former pals. Spencer was brought up specifically, by him. He said, and I quote with permission, “Here’s what I have to say to anybody following Spencer. That guy is a predator known for seducing the wives of all his comrades. He beats his own wife, according to her. You think he cares about you?”
Needless to say, Spencer joined known pedophile and NAMBLA advocate Michael Cernovich in being among notable alt-right figures who did not show back up in Virginia for the trial.
In the immortal words of 50 Cent, “Damn, homey! In high school you was the man, homey!
What the f*** happened to you??”
Those guys really thought they were something, all right, as if they were going to be an army of stormtroopers. Back then they thought they were about to see the whole lousy discard called American democracy go down in flames, lit up by Trump as Hitler did before him. As a private citizen, I did think they might try for some lousy publicity stunt as they did back then, coming to mock the family of the victim, and to stand without permission on the white race’s behalf to embrace a murderer, the nameless trash can who killed Heather Heyer in Charlottesville.  I try not to dwell on that day.
I remembered his name long enough to glance up when I saw he was up for sentencing a while ago. I read the article, but even before, I didn’t have to wonder if his “brothers” in the movement would show up to show support for him, guys like that never do. The only one there was his mother, God bless her undoubtedly tortured soul. I read that alt-right hero “Baked Alaska” was called, reminded of the upcoming sentencing date, and asked if he was going to show up to support that little psychopath.
Mr. Alaska’s comments on the subject were nothing less than classic. They involved profanity, the word “murderer”, and “I’m out by the pool.”
Finally comes Adventure Three, which ends a bit sooner than the other two. If Manafort and Papadopoulos won’t do, they can stay out on the streets, and end up being Jimmy Hoffa (notorious Teamster union boss who’s been missing for decades. Experts believe the mob disappeared him for becoming a liability. He knew too much, and the bosses probably didn’t feel like they could chance it. What he knew could have buried them- so they buried him instead.
A stubborn old man may not have much to fear in prison. If you’re an alt-right slimebag like Roger Stone who is playing at having honor among thieves and refused to snitch like Cohen and Georgie P., then by this time you know full well that you’ve decided to be Manafort.
At that point, you had better stop and think: How much do they trust me?
If the answer is Not enough, I’m going to be Hoffa long before I can get to Papadopoulos.

All those guys are thinking about this and weighing the equation in their minds. The jig is up, and they know it. Putin was a long shot from the first, but for a while all his rubles made them forget what they now are remembering in earnest- that it’s not going to happen for them and they know it. Now they’re remembering something else, too, something that people in mobs tend to forget.

When I get home tonight, I’ll still be just one man.

Sooner or later, this is going to backfire horribly on Putin, who has been a disaster for Russia. The country is in poverty while he and his pals fly around on private jets holding rallies on American soil. He got them sanctioned heftily, they can’t do business in America, and there’s only so much borscht you can eat.

If you’re a Nazi who’s looking for a job in politics, your prospects are looking pretty thin. All is not lost, though. We’re feeling generous today. So out of a sense of general human charity, a thing no Nazi can understand or legally display in their type of political system, we got something lined up for you, at least in the way of advice. Get out now, before it’s too late. Because if you don’t, it will be too late. And when this is all over, you are going to be cast out.
If you really want to hurt Democrats and help Putin and Trump, we can tell you how to do it in three words.

The Rising Threat of China-Spy Pleads Guilty, Trade Deal Possible-What Will That Mean?

China displaced millions of people to build the Three Gorges Dam with no compensation.

Sources told CNBC on Wednesday the announcement of a U.S. trade deal with China is “possible” by next Friday, apparently the result of a U.S. delegation’s meeting with Chinese negotiators in Beijing on Wednesday. The United States has the world’s largest economy, China is second, and we’ve been running into a lot of trouble with them because of it.

That makes this development very interesting.

The Chinese economy has experienced astonishing growth in the last few decades. In 1978 China discarded the dead principles of socialist personality cults and started a program of economic reforms. Back then it ranked ninth in the nominal gross domestic product (GDP) with USD 214 billion; 35 years later it jumped up to the second place with a nominal GDP of USD 9.2 trillion. According to Focus Economics, it is now worth $15 trillion to our $21.

Count on their trying to take first place.

The first thing that comes to mind is that we can’t trust either side. Our president is a moron. He made a fool of himself in Hanoi meeting with Kim Jong-Un, the North Korean dictator. The Chinese will try and take advantage of him. And because Putin and Xi are such good pals, it wouldn’t surprise me if their bromance turned into a threesome.

Trump’s juvenile reaction to the discovery of Russian interference into our 2016 election has manifested in his refusing to fund or staff the new cyber-defense force our Congress authorized in 2017. This is a big problem. There are other countries also who are out there trying to hack into our stuff so they can ruin and steal it. And at least one of these is ten times more powerful an enemy than Russia-literally. That applies both to military prowess and to manpower, as well as money.

The people who run Millennial Democrats have figured out how much the Chinese hate us and want to do us harm, thanks to the experiences we’ve gained while running this website. We started out in foreign affairs because of the Russians, and certainly that nation’s computer criminals have tried to hack in here and take us down many times. But even though we’d never printed a word about them, or even thought about them very much, Chinese attacks have been incredible in their sheer frequency.

The vast, worldwide right wing conspiracy Hillary Clinton spoke of takes a swing and a miss at Millennial Democrats.
The vast, worldwide right wing conspiracy’s Chinese division takes a swing and a miss at Millennial Democrats.
A look at his location.
A look at his location.

For every time the Russians have tried to hack in here, the Chinese have done so ten times, and we don’t know exactly why. Are they under contract for the Russians? Is it just that they hate what they call the “white left” that much? Or is it just that they’re out to eviscerate anyone who is pro-America?

The only sure thing is that they’re out there, lurking.

One attempt after another has been made recently by them to challenge us. Earlier today, ex-CIA officer Jerry Chun Shing Lee pleaded guilty to conspiring to spy for China. He got paid $100,000, and got a promise from the Chinese government to be “Taken Care Of For Life”.

This week, FBI Director Christopher Wray said that Russia works around the clock 365 days a year to undermine American democracy. But he also said that China posed the biggest threat to the United States when it came to economic espionage. Last year sonic attacks of a mysterious nature were used on our diplomats there in China. Both countries were suspected.

Last month, the Justice Department announced that a former engineer and Chinese businessman had been charged with economic espionage. They were caught conspiring to steal trade secrets from General Electric, in a scheme for which the Chinese government provided “financial and other support.”

Our current trade dispute with China is protectionist in nature. They keep ripping us off. Huawei’s entire router system was nothing but a blatant theft from Cisco. That incident among others led to a series of American tariffs being levied against China, and fears about potential economic damage due to fallout is obviously a concern for both countries.

Trump and Xi both have boasted of progress in the talks, but that’s what they do. It has yet to be seen if this is real or just another stalling device crafted from propaganda. What is certain is that disputes such as whether America will immediately remove existing tariffs or keep them in place as an enforcement measure to stop practices such as intellectual property theft have derailed a final deal.

Let’s be clear. We have spent a lot of time detailing the threat posed by Russia, here at Millennial Democrats. But barring any unforeseen disaster, and regardless of how much time they spend trying to bring one on-which, as FBI Director Christopher Wray recently said, is something they do 365 days a years-they will never truly be able to challenge the United States as a global power. Putin is a dictator but his country has no infrastructure, so his state’s autonomy remains highly limited.

For practical purposes, that means they can only do harm, not create anything.

China, however, has 1.43 billion people living within its borders, and total autonomy. They took the homes of millions of people away without compensation of any kind to build the Three Gorges Dam (which is a real hunk of junk, for all its size, it hardly even works). Last October they locked up a million Muslims, an entire race of people known as the Uighurs, without so much as a pretext.

Without warning, they built prison camps so vast out in the Gobi Desert that we first thought they were building some kind of new military device. They didn’t bother lying about it because they do not care what anyone else thinks. They’re so strong they can do whatever they want on their own turf, or so they think.

They are massing military force in the South China Sea, looking hungrily at our possessions there. They may well try for a pre-emptive strike, after which they would have autonomy in their entire region as well. Would they stop there?

Do would-be conquerors ever?

The Chinese are our only true global rival, and they’re working with the Russians against us. Russia and China have historically had rocky relations, but they will certainly work together to bring down the United States-led global order which has made everything possible for us all. Xi called Putin his “most dearest friend”; how ridiculous. It’s like watching a bad anime.

Going forward, we’re going to repay the Chinese favor of trying to hack in here all the time by raising awareness about what they are up to. They have become a predatory power, a foe not only of America but of freedom and democracy worldwide. That places them squarely on our radar. Look for them to stay there.

#ProtectMueller! New AG Barr Confirmation Raises Specter of Saturday Night Massacre.

#ProtectMueller! New AG Barr Confirmation Raises Specter of Saturday Night Massacre

Here on the eve of the confirmation of the new Attorney General pick, William Barr, questions abound about the Russiagate investigation and the eventual fate of the special counsel Robert Mueller chosen to administrate it. Barr has been critical of Mueller’s investigation but has stated that he will not interfere. We’ll see. To put it mildly, serious reasons exist to doubt the sincerity of America’s abortive failure of a forty-fifth president when he says he will not fire Mueller, the man who has compiled the case that will likely destroy him. Barr seems like a rubber stamp brought in to do just that, the hatchetman of Russian assets. We hope he proves us wrong.

If Trump does fire Mueller, it will be highly reminiscent of another corrupt president who fired a special prosecutor, president Richard Milhous Nixon. Nixon’s firing of Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox began the end of his presidency, and so conventional wisdom has held that Trump will not go there. Congressional Republicans have also said that the firing of the special counsel Mueller would be a crossing of the line for them, although it’s true we have no reason to believe them either. They have caved to Trump on everything and often in the most shameful imaginable ways. Devin Nunes, former chairman of the House Intelligence Oversight Committee, was recently found to be deliberately covering up House findings in order to protect Trump.

When considered as part of the whole incident, it seems clear this could be destined to bring us into uncharted territory completely if Trump does go the Nixon route. It wouldn’t save him, and it would damn him further in the opinion of many, but he wouldn’t resign as Nixon did. His conduct during the lengthening and unnecessary #TrumpShutdown proves him once again to be utterly without scruples. It is certain he will use the country as hostages again in the process of getting the Russiagate spotlight off of him. Thus, we have no choice but to conclude that the conventional wisdom- which also did not predict the shutdown, or the fool’s errand that was the travel ban, or the Helsinki debacle, or any number of other horrible things- is probably wrong again.

Of course Trump would fire Mueller. ‘Don’t expect Trump to go quietly’, read a Washington Post article published on January 14th. He’s got the whole country held hostage at this moment, he unrepentantly lies about anything that happens to cross his mind, and he thinks he’s “winning”, whatever that even means in the context of a ruined economy and a devastated government. I guess it means getting Employee of the Month from Vladimir Putin. Firing Mueller would fit right in as the stupidest and worst for America thing he could possibly do. It’s a glaring absence in his resume as it is.

Slava.

In related news, Trump, who was in the news over the weekend for having sworn his interpreters in his three closed-door meetings with Putin to secrecy, has taken an increasingly aggressive and door-closed stance toward Mueller’s requests for an in-person interview. Gone are the days when he boasts of having done nothing and means his crimes. The Trump of yesterday always said of Mueller that “No one wants to speak more than me“. That line is yesterday’s news, although references to the “Fake News Media” that has plagued him like the Furies remain plentiful. As usual, Trump blames himself for nothing, and provides an object- and abject- example to American children of what a spoiled brat at its worst can do.

News that the special counsel has already drafted a report- a report that draws the most damning possible conclusions- joined the confiscation of notes taken during his closed-door meetings with Putin as the two top stories in the news this weekend. Trump‘s behavior toward the Russian president was the focus of Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein on Sunday, when he appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources. While there, Bernstein- whose investigative journalism helped to take down Nixon- said the special counsel investigating Trump will find he “helped Putin destabilize the United States and interfere in the [2016] election.” Any Facebook activist can tell you this. We’ve seen it develop from the day they prepared the Wikileaks dumps.

He is joined in this dramatically terrible conclusion by many of the counterintelligence specialists in the country, including FBI investigators assigned to the case directly. The Bureau has now let the public know that they’ve been monitoring his conduct viz. Vladimir Putin all along. God bless the good old American Federal Bureau of Investigation, which has now come through for this country through two attempted fascist takeovers.

We would also like to give a farewell salute to the former and departing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who did not have to pick someone who would look into this as hard as Mueller would, and acted with integrity throughout in spite of Republican reviles. His decency and professionalism will be missed.

In the last analysis, from the standpoint of this illegitimate infantile president, sitting back and letting this atomic report fall on him would most likely be better than trying to resist the inevitable by trying to bring this to an end. Cracks in Trump’s base are said to be forming at last, and as these people realize what they’ve been buying into, more and more of them will be looking for a new home, and a sane alternative. Our capacity to find this for them will prove to be a critical part of success for us as we move forward. Russia has been the chiefest enemy of America for nearly a hundred years now, and most Americans still know that. Reminding them is the way to go moving forward.

Does Trump Work For Putin Directly? The FBI Has Been Asking Since May of 2017.

Does Trump work for Putin directly? The FBI's been looking into it- and so have we.

One of the biggest bombshells yet in the Russiagate case was dropped on America this evening. As the #TrumpShutdown entered its third week and the first missing paycheck came up for millions of Americans, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has announced that it has been pursuing an investigation into whether Donald Trump was working for Vladimir Putin directly, either knowingly or unwittingly.

The New York Times reported late Friday that federal investigators are said to have become so alarmed by Trump’s conduct after he fired former FBI director James Comey that they at once opened a probe into whether the orange infant in the White House has been secretly working with Russia, all along, for Putin himself.

According to sources considered reliable by that venerable newspaper, counterintelligence officials were assigned to the case.

Let’s talk about that word for a minute, counterintelligence. Google Dictionary gives an excellent working definition. It refers to activities designed to prevent or thwart spying, intelligence gathering, and sabotage by an enemy or other foreign entity. Therefore, counterintelligence agents are only assigned to cases serious enough to be considered a risk to national security.

In other words, this is earth-shaking beyond all belief for Donald Trump.

Russia is and has for much of our history been the chief global rival of America. For our president to be in the actual employ of their president is clearly a worst-case scenario. We’ve been saying this for years, of course.

Now the big boys are saying it too.

For a counterintelligence committee to be examining not only whether Trump’s actions were undermining national security, but also whether he was working at the behest of the Kremlin, is clearly of the most phenomenal importance.

On Rachel Maddow‘s Friday night television show, AM Joy Reid of MSNBC was standing in, and hosted Former Assistant Director of Counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi for an interview. He said that the FBI would only even consider a decision of this magnitude without having evidence of the most utterly compelling nature, something on the level of taped conversations and the like.

Trump has been screaming for years that the whole Russian collusion story is nothing but fake news, and his sheer vehemence gave him some early successes in getting people to stop using the word.

Collusion is back on the table to stay, after this.

In related news, it came out this week that Paul Manafort broke the terms of his plea agreement in regards to his actively sharing and exchanging data from the Trump campaign with his Russian handlers. Turns out that $19 million dollars Manafort owed to Oleg Deripaska, Putin’s buddy the aluminum oligarch, came back to haunt him after all.

Just last week Time tracked down the man Deripaska used to get Manafort to pay up. “He owed us a lot of money,” Victor Boyarkin told Time. “And he was offering ways to pay it back … I came down on him hard.”

As much as Manafort is a detestable character, what does it say about America, that Russians can come over here and push our people around like this with impugnity? This has to be stopped at once. It is our opinion that the Russian Mafia, the feared ROC, should be pored over and removed from its influence from every scrap of our fair nation. Not even the garbage should be left over for them- aluminum cans are worth billions! Just ask Oleg Deripaska.

Manafort had a good friend from his glory days fixing Ukrainian elections for Putin, Konstantin Kilimnik, pictured here in this photograph, not far from Tad Devine of the Bernie Sanders campaign.

Top consultant to the Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign Tad Devine, hanging out with Paul Manafort and Konstatin Kilimnik.

Kilimnik, a shadowy and truant figure long believed to hold many pieces of this puzzle, is known by the nickname of Manafort’s Manafort. He is connected to Russian intelligence services like the GRU, which also hosted Fancy Bear and Guccifer 2.0, the hackers who got Julian Assange the hacked DNC emails that he dumped on us through Wikileaks.

The Wikileaks succeeded beyond their wildest imaginations.

Nevertheless, the Bernie Bots and Bros rioted in the streets of Philadelphia over minor written exchanges proving that Debbie Wassermann-Schultz and Bernie did not like each other. It was the biggest single coup of the Trump campaign’s whole summer, and also the night that Russiagate became something tangible.

The Russians were said to be overjoyed. The emails themselves were played up so much by Trump and his base that by the time they were released, it did not matter what was in them, and it turned out to be nothing to an extent that was simply huge.

The information pipeline that got all this done featured Manafort, his campaign deputy Rick Gates, and Kilimnik funneling many files full of Trump campaign information to bring back to Deripaska, and received many back in return. It was reciprocal and totally coordinated. Manafort knew what he was doing to America every last step of the way.

Deripaska’s not that much of a political guy, but he does have one big interest in giving Trump a hand. He is extremely close to Putin and relies on him to keep his personal fortune. All of Russia works and eats at Putin’s order; he has more control than Stalin did over there.

Even Fox News hosts have been admitting that what Manafort did with the Russians constitutes collusion. There is no doubt about it, and this is, in its own way, even more damning for Trump than the Mueller investigation.

In the last analysis, Manafort was not chosen because of his consummate skill or charming personal characteristics. He was chosen because he was convenient, due to the money he owed for those Cayman Island hotels he burned up Deripaska’s friendship for. Many email exchanges between the two indicate Manafort’s frequent and pleading queries as to whether or not the two of them were “good”. He had that Boyarkin ogre ready to pick his bones, he was scared, and he’d been their guy so long by then that he felt there was no turning back.

So he made a devil’s bargain to sell out his country, in order to save his behind. That is the most rotten and cowardly choice that anyone can ever make. Manafort’s name will be reviled throughout all of human history, and as with the Benedict Arnolds and Vidkun Quislings of history, his name will be held up as an example of greed and cowardice to serve mankind’s final generations with a lesson that resounds with eternal importance.

Going forward, we must reexamine the entire concept of treason. We should view the Cold War as a conflict which never ended, but rather shifted forms and chosen new battlefields in the virtual realms of politics. In that scenario, Trump would be a traitor by every metric, and this is the most truthful narrative.

The Russiagate Crescendo- Mueller Hones In On Trump Directly.

Trump and Putin- A lackey and his boss.

In the months leading up to the Blue Wave earlier this month, special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation went all but silent, a nod to fairness and decency from the Justice Department, who did not want to influence the elections by showing all the people what an utter swine its Republican president is just before they went to the polls.

The elections ended, America took a deep breath, and all of us waited for the report that’s been so long in coming.

Then things started exploding.

At this point developments with Russiagate are coming so hot and heavy that it’s hard to keep up with them all. Paul Manafort’s plea agreement has been violated because he lied to Mueller’s prosecutors and got caught. Sometimes the lies we humans tell are quite revealing.

At any rate, he can’t go back on it. That plea is final, and Manafort has admitted his guilt. They may also now hit him with the old charges they’d withheld. Looking like life in prison for that guy, or Russian radiation poison on the streets when he gets out. Nobody’s fault but his own.

Another guy who did some pleading was Trump’s old lawyer Michael Cohen, just today, admitting that he perjured himself in last year in front of Congress about the proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow that was being planned out during the campaign.

Cohen made his admission while pleading guilty Thursday in federal court to a charge from special counsel Robert Mueller’s office. He also had some other interesting things to say about the role of the fascinating person known as Individual One in recent court filings. Who is this primary source of a person, you ask?

None other than our very own non-president, Donald Trump.

Cohen made it contritely clear that he lied out of a sense of obligation to Trump. “I made these statements to be consistent with Individual-1’s political messaging and out of loyalty to Individual-1,” Cohen said.
Individual-1 was identified in court filings as Trump. And Cohen identified him as such in a New York courtroom Thursday.
Mueller has now honed in officially on the man who colluded with our worst enemy to steal the highest office in our land- yet never learned the way to spell collusion. It makes one feel a tiny twinge of pity for the demented old man. He isn’t the world’s worst man, he’s just a foolish and silly one.
His friends, however, are the very worst. And he was in constant contact with them all the way through this thing, just as we here at Millennial Democrats have joined millions of other Democrats in predicting from Day One. He was on the phone left and right with Roger Stone, and Stone was in touch with Guccifer 2.0. Probably he had a pipeline of some sort to Julian Assange at Wikileaks.
In related news, Assange is to be tried for espionage as soon as we can roust him from his Ecuadorian embassy home and get him back here to answer for his crimes. He too has his day in court coming.
Emails between Stone and right-wing conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi, who has said he expects to be indicted for his own role in this whole mess, provide bedrock evidence that every word of the Trump team’s party line is provably false. One wonders just how long Mueller has known about all this.

Either way, Corsi told investigators that Stone, his associate, asked him in the summer of 2016 to get in touch with WikiLeaks. They needed data about unreleased materials relevant to the presidential campaign, the draft court papers say.

“Get to (Assange) [a]t Ecuadorian Embassy in London and get the pending (WikiLeaks) emails,” it said. How much more clear can you get?
In the meantime, Trump himself is in the same old meltdown mode he has been in since before he even got elected. He’s in over his head, and must now play his role as he’s been paid to. We have always known that Putin has something on him, and it’s looking like we’re very close to finding out what.
Expect Trump to lash out in desperation, he has none of Nixon’s principles and all of his meanness and corruption. He will never quietly resign, and might do anything trying to save himself. Victory is near, but that is always the most dangerous time. Great caution and attention must be paid to the following two months.
One thing is for sure, however. We will be here for it, raising awareness and giving you the facts. See you in the trenches!

Unrequited Love at the Treason Summit- Donald’s Worst Excuse.

A very ugly Donald.

On the subject of this week’s Helsinki summit, in which the forty-fifth president of America slobbered on himself in the presence of Putin, there is almost nothing to say. Words fail all but completely.

On Twitter, it was trending as #TreasonSummit.

For once, America is well-nigh united. Everyone is disgusted with Trump, except for the loathsome toady Pence(who the Trump guys will hate no matter what, as he wavered on the “Grab ’em” tape), a man who has fallen all over himself to slobberingly praise his master Donald. Even the likes of Neil Caputo reviled him as weak.

Trump has a reputation as being a real tough guy, especially during a debate.

His attempt to loom over Hillary Clinton was memorable(and pathetic), as was the rough treatment he gave both “Low Energy” Jeb Bush, and “Little Marco” Rubio during the debates of the Republican primary.

Many expected him to go after Putin this same way, especially given that Robert Mueller just charged twelve Russian nationals with the hacking of our election last Friday.

Here’s what he said instead.

“I think the United States has been foolish,” Trump said, to explain poor U.S.-Russia relationships.

Undoubtedly it is true that America is not perfect. No one with even a cursory familiarity with American history would claim otherwise.

But what a thing to say to the President of Russia, architect of one of the most brutal regimes on Earth! Especially considering that they’re illegally occupying Ukraine and that they have been cyber-attacking all the world for years.

If I were Trump, I’d have gone public with this thing from Day One. Thanks for your help, Russia! Now allow me to reward you, by annihilating your ability to do anything like this ever again.

I would have gone right to the NSA with everything my campaign had learned about how they operate, and I would have seen to it that information was used to keep our country safer in the future.

This is not about Republicans vs. Democrats, or at least, it shouldn’t have been, and still doesn’t have to be. This is Russia vs. America, a struggle of hundreds of years. There’s a lot more at stake here than one man’s pride and power.

Unfortunately, Donald Trump does not realize this.

Later on Monday, the Justice Department charged the woman who tried to set up a back-channel of communication with the Trump campaign, Maria Butina, as being an agent of the Russian Federation.

Tuesday she was hit with a grand jury indictment, which added a more serious charge of acting as an agent of the Russian government. This carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

This was on an investigation completely separate from that of Robert Mueller’s and offered some of the most explicit evidence yet that there were Americans who worked willingly to aid and abet the Russian efforts. And where, you ask, did they find Americans blind enough to reality to go along with something like this?

The pro-gun conspiracy world, of course, also known as the National Rifle Association, where Butina was shown in photos she put on Facebook attending events.

It all just goes to show. You cannot trust the right. They will do or say or willfully deny anything to take or keep power, even in the face of things like Sandy Hook and the Holocaust. That is what fascism is.

That is particularly relevant considering how they all jumped on the anti-Russia bandwagon yesterday when the President’s weakness became repugnant past a certain point. Mitch McConnell tried to talk tough, saying “The EU is friend to the US. Russia is not.”

But just the day before, Trump himself classified the E.U. as an enemy, too. It seems like the GOP and the Russians have been pretty cozy all along.

The final indignity was delivered on Sean Hannity’s talk show, where Trump was guided through the Fox News interpretation of current events. He lamented that reporters keep asking about Russian election interference, rather than what he considers issues of substance.

“I thought that President Putin was very, very strong,” he said, sighing like a lovesick calf.

One Year In- 45th Fumes As Mueller Investigation Turns Two.

The Mueller investigation heats up as we enter Year Two.

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the formation of the special counsel investigation headed by Robert Mueller, and what a year it’s been.

Initially, its mandate was to investigate what the newly elected president knew about Russian interference into the 2016 election. But it quickly became clear that the president’s possible criminal tendencies would make it necessary to go a lot farther.

The president’s old lawyer, Ty Cobb, told him this would all be over by now. He got fired. The top lawyers in the country all refused to replace him. And then his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, got busted himself, and was replaced by former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is both over the hill and insane.

All is not well in the White House.

Over the past three decades, the man the Russians helped to elect as the president has allegedly committed just about every crime there is, from tax evasion to domestic abuse to sexual assault.

They say the past always catches up, and it seems like in this case, that is true.

In the last year, we have seen the myriad investigations into Donald Trump range all over the place, as America continues to learn more and more about what manner of man holds court in its highest office. This last week has illustrated the situation for us, in microcosm.

The Senate Judiciary Committee released hundreds of pages of interviews relating to Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. A few from Donald Trump Jr. shed light on a critical meeting between Trump campaign brass and Russians at Trump Tower in June 2016.

The Senate Intelligence Committee announced that it agreed with the Intelligence Community’s assessment that Russia sought to interfere in the 2016 election to help Trump and hurt Hillary Clinton.

And the Office of Government Ethics made public Trump’s 2017 financial disclosure statement.

That one hurts him.

This document is stone cold proof that he reimbursed Michael Cohen, his personal lawyer, for the $130,000 paid in hush money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Obviously very damning, but by then it was old news.

That one came courtesy of Trump’s lawyer, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, who really loves to talk.

He told us all that Trump knew of the Cohen payments on Sean Hannity’s talk show a day after he got the spot on the bench of Trump’s legal team. You’d think that would have taught him to shut up, but it didn’t. Earlier this week, he was talking again, to CNN’s Dana Bash.

He was boasting that he had been told by the special counsel’s office that they did not believe they could indict a sitting president, as per Justice Department regulations established during the Nixon era.

Who expected that? We’re obviously not going to send the sitting president to prison! He’d have to stand up for the morning head count, in the middle of security briefings! That was never the plan, it would be ludicrous.

If Rudy’s intent was to console his capo, by reassuring him he’s not getting locked up next week, it seems to this Millennial Democrats contributor that he has admirably failed in that duty.

What Giuliani’s speech really did, was to let us know things have gotten so serious, that Mueller and his team have probably been considering disregarding the previous Justice Department regulations and locking him up anyway.

It’s hard to understand why a legal expert would do this much talking, even if he is demented and past his prime. It doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. But that’s the nature of this administration and life in the country during it. Nothing makes sense, everything is topsy-turvy.

The same celebrities we loved twenty years ago have all turned into monsters, because they stepped into the political arena. They’re all so many fish out of the water. They don’t look any happier to be in power as we are to have them there.

As we prepare to follow this investigation into its second year, the big takeaway from the first one is that Donald Trump is almost certainly at least as guilty as Richard Nixon. But unlike Nixon, he probably won’t resign for the good of the country. And that is where the true crisis lies.

When Robert Mueller makes his recommendation at the end of all this, he very well may ultimately walk up to the desk of Rod Rosenstein and say Yeah, he did it! He knew everything!

It would then be the duty of the legislative branch to impeach him. Judging from their past conduct, it’s all too possible that this Congress, with their Republican majority, may not. They have undermined the Russiagate investigation from its first day.

If Trump is guilty and the Republicans ignore it, our democracy will have faced its greatest peril. We’ve got to do everything in our power to see to it that the Republicans in control of the House and Senate act with honor and fulfill their pledge to defend this country against tyranny, from within or without.

If they do not, we will soon go the way of the Roman Empire.

As this article was getting ready to publish, the news broke that Rudy Giuliani is talking again. This morning, he says that Robert Mueller has agreed to narrow the scope of his questioning in order to interview Donald Trump himself.

We’ll have to wait and see.

Channel 4 Busts Cambridge CEO- God Save The Queen!

#MillennialDemocrats

Thank you, Great Britain.

Alexander Nix, the chief executive of data mining company Cambridge Analytica, the company at the center of the Facebook data breach, has been caught on tape boasting of using honey traps, disinformation campaigns, and Kompromat campaigns to swing election campaigns around the world, a new investigation reveals.

Executives from Cambridge spoke to undercover reporters from Channel 4 News about the dark arts used by the company to help clients, which included entrapping rival candidates in fake bribery stings and hiring prostitutes to seduce them.

In one exchange, the company chief executive, Alexander Nix, is recorded telling reporters: “It sounds a dreadful thing to say, but these are things that don’t necessarily need to be true as long as they’re believed.”

Joseph Goebbels thought much the same. So does Vladimir Putin.

The Channel 4 News investigation, broadcast on Monday, comes two days after the Observer reported Cambridge Analytica had unauthorized access to tens of millions of Facebook profiles in one of the social media company’s biggest data breaches.

Cambridge Analytica has been using the exact same disinformation techniques that the Russian Internet Research Agency has.

Instructions were given to the staff of that company to post political content on US social media sites and “use any opportunity to criticize Hillary and the rest (except Sanders and Trump — we support them).”

The New York Times and the Observer newspaper in Britain revealed Saturday that Cambridge Analytica got hold of the personal information of 50 million Facebook users and used it to craft ads and messages for President Trump’s 2016 campaign.

So how exactly did that happen? Why was it even allowed?

Those are not questions that have convincing answers. It is the opinion of Millennial Democrats that Facebook is far from on the up and up. Democrats have been silenced on Facebook with impunity from the start. The same people who’ve been silencing us, let these people get away with murder.

Facebook has a tremendous culpability in this matter. It’s good that they’re suspending Cambridge from having any further access, especially after hearing their CEO bragging about how he uses sex workers and bribes to corrupt and ruin rival politicians.

Again, this technique is Russian in origin. They call it Kompromat- the gathering of compromising evidence on someone in order to exert leverage.

We have come to quite an impasse. Russia’s tyrant is actively working to help the Republicans keep power in America. They’ve certainly got plenty of Kompromat on them.

For an example as to the way they gather this Kompromat and what sort of dirt they want can be, we can look to Ralph Shortey, a 35-year-old married father of three. He resigned in disgrace from the state legislature in March.

He was Trump’s campaign chair from Oklahoma, a man who carefully cultivated a strong ‘family values’ man type of image. He also just pled guilty to seven federal counts. Child sex trafficking, felony child prostitution, transportation of child pornography, and production of child pornography.

pleads guilty to Meanwhile, former Campbell County District Judge Timothy Nolan, Trump’s campaign chair in KY, has pled guilty to a similar set of charges. Sex trafficking of minors. 21 counts against 19 victims. Felony trafficking of a minor, felony inducing a minor to engage in sex, and a third count of giving alcohol to a minor.

One wonders if, like his grandfather, Trump has a sex trafficking racket along with his Russian money laundering racket? Just asking .

The president and his closest associates not only know of these efforts but are doing their best to coordinate with them.

Meanwhile, Trump, the president, not only does nothing but lies to the people every day. And when he found out that the FBI was looking into the whole mess, fires the person running the investigation in hopes of putting an end to it.

This is not a movie. This is where the nation stands. The Justice Department has an investigation in full-tilt, with the best guys in the country recruited to get the job done, and the president is doing all he can to find a way to get rid of it.

“The fact pattern that continues to emerge is amazing,” said Rick Wilson, a Republican consultant who stood among the first to question Trump’s ties to Moscow during the GOP primary campaign. “When I was a young cold warrior, back at the dawn of time, we had a healthy suspicion of Russia.”

In the meantime, Trump recently did what he’s never done before and directly taken aim at Robert Mueller on Twitter.

Robert Mueller himself has been a Republican all his life. That does not seem to be something Trump likes to bring up. It certainly did not stop Trump from nearly firing him last June, on a conflict of interest beef relating to, of all things, golfing fees. The whole thing has degenerated to the level of a kindergarten in the DeVos school system.

Is this what we want for our country? Aren’t we fed up yet? How much farther do we have to go? It is the opinion of Millennial Democrats that most of us are sick and tired of being sick and tired. Thank God for Great Britain, is all I can think of to say. If it wasn’t for them, we’d be in this alone, and up to our necks. I personally have learned not to take them for granted. Thank you, Brits.

There is a sign of light on the horizon, however. It’s called a #BlueWave. The way it works is really simple, too. Vote Democratic, and the nightmare ends. Vote Democratic, and professionals come in and start cleaning up the mess. Vote Democratic, and America is certain to remain America, because the best will make sure it is.

If you’ve had enough of living in the zoo, vote blue.

GOP Sells Out America on Russiagate- Stand While You Can.

We are living through what is perhaps the biggest week in the entire Russiagate saga thus far. It reads like a grocery list, so we’ll just get started.

Andrew McCabe, deputy director of the FBI, resigned under pressure. He essentially was forced out.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee voted to release an illegally altered staff memo alleging FBI surveillance abuses relating to the Trump-Russia investigation.

FBI Director Christopher Wray’s warning that some of the information is classified and there are “material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy” has been ignored.

The US House Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat, Adam Schiff, immediately castigated Republicans for going so far as to physically amend a prepared memo about claims of FBI surveillance at the 2016 election.

“This is not about the facts,” Schiff said. “This is about a narrative the chairman (Nunes) wants to put out – a misleading narrative, to undermine the FBI, undermine the department and ultimately undermine Bob Mueller.

These changes were made minutes after the Committee signed off on it, and minutes before turning it in to Donald Trump. Two other memos on the subject are also floating around, but those are not likely to reach the public. What a surprise.

Next, within minutes of the committee vote, the Trump administration announced that it will not impose the new sanctions on Russia.

Both the House and the Senate voted nearly unanimously (another guy who refused to make that vote was Bernie Sanders) for the sanctions, but this also was ignored, even though earlier in the same afternoon CIA chief Mike Pompeo released a report of his conclusion that Russia is preparing to hack our midterm elections.

There have already been sanctions in place for Russia’s annexing of Crimea in 2014, and for its repeated aggression and provocations in Ukraine and elsewhere. This new set was intended to punish Russia specifically for meddling in the 2016 presidential election. But Trump, the beneficiary of all this hacking, has paid off for his master in a big way.

Looks like Vladimir Putin has finally made his next move.

They’re calling it his Saturday Night Massacre.

Leading Democrat Adam Schiff suggested the White House would use the memo, if released, to fire Robert Mueller or Department of Justice head Rod Rosenstein.

In December,Trump accosted Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller, regarding his personal loyalties. He wanted to know whether Mr Rosenstein was “on my team”, CNN reports.

That’s the same sort of Hitler-esque loyalty oath he asked James Comey for. When he did not receive it, he recklessly fired Comey, opening this door and kicking off this whole process in earnest. That type of nonsense is what makes him an extremely useful idiot to Putin.

Russian TV was filled with glee, their jubilant anchor boasting that “Trump is ours again!” according to translator Julia Davis.

By subverting the Congressional Republicans, Putin has delivered the most tremendous blow yet to our democracy. This is a far greater coup than subverting one slovenly old debtor.

Trump in and of himself is nothing. He’s a babbling imbecile. No one pays him any mind on his own except his deplorable base.

The Supreme Court and Chief of Staff John Kelly, the real President, have done what they can to restrain him, but what’s really kept him from getting much done is incompetence.

With Putin there to provide strategic guidance, however, and both houses of the Congress in the hands of his Republican allies, Trump’s capacity to deal out damage in this whole mega-treason becomes enormous. The casual observer wonders about the purpose of a visit paid to Pompeo by top Russian spy chiefs, ostensibly to discuss counter-terrorism measures, earlier this week.

The actual Saturday Night Massacre refers to the incident of then-President Richard Nixon fired Archibald Cox, the Special Prosecutor assigned to handle the investigation of the Watergate scandal. It ultimately led to his impeachment, but not before doing much to complete the ideological cleaving of America. And the Congress that went through with getting rid of him was not the same creature as that of today.

We cannot be lulled into believing that this Congress will have the same sort of stomach and decency as the one that prepared to oust Nixon. Democrats hold neither house. And these Republicans have acted without conscience at every vote. There is not a sound reason to trust them, especially after the way they conducted themselves in regards to this anti-FBI memo.

The two top Democrats in Congress, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, have called for the removal of House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes in the latest development in a fierce battle over the chairman’s classified memo.

This development places us in the worst situation we’ve yet seen. The essence of it is that the Republicans and their billionaire masters, like the Koch brothers, have willingly turned a blind eye to everything for the sake of the fat tax cut they got. They’re bending right over for Putin.

Many of them are showing signs of indigestion of the conscience, as evidenced by the fact of so many of the GOP leaders in Congress retiring, but it’s a little late for that. They have already proven willing to accept anything for the sake of that money, even the death of our democracy and subservience to a foreign dictator. There’s no going back now.

On Wednesday, South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, became the third GOP lawmaker in just the past week to announce plans to leave Congress at the end of this term.

“Washington’s not a very pleasant place for anybody,” said former representative Tom Davis, a Virginia Republican who retired in 2008. “The public hates you.”

The nature of their plot has now become as obvious as it was shortsighted- to take the money, and run before the Nuremberg trials start up.

Make no mistake, Democrats- We are on our own this year.

If the Blue Wave is indeed going to sweep over this country at the midterm elections, we are going to have to work very hard, because nobody is going to do it for us. We can expect no help whatsoever dealing with Russian cyber-aggression from the government, because we are not in control of the government. It is our opinion that everyone should be really careful.

Even earlier today, Millennial Democrats experienced a bruteforce attack. This hacker, from Lviv, Ukraine, tries this all the time, which does at least save us the trouble of having to assemble fresh pictures.

First we get an alert, as in Exhibit One.

Bored, uncreative loser who tried to hack me
Exhibit One- a turd who tried to hack us.

Then we go to a site called WhatismyIPaddress.com, and take a look at where the culprit’s from. The details thus given can be seen in Exhibit Two.

Creepy.
Exhibit Two- Lviv is a very famous place, world renowned for the quality of its IT experts. Unfortunately, it is also the host of this parasite.

We are going to need to stick closely together, as the only thing we’ve got left is one another. The Republicans are active hostiles. The Russians are digging in deeper every day. And we have no central leadership at all. If we don’t stand up now, we will never again be able.

FCC Democrats Call For Help- Making a Stand for Net Neutrality.

Focus On Internet Freedom

A Democratic member of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has called on us for help. We will answer the call. Now is the time for the millennial generation to rise.

Democrat Jessica Rosenworcel wrote in the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday that Americans must resist the agency’s plans to end net neutrality rules adopted under the Obama administration, calling the FCC’s plan “lousy”.

She urged Americans to make their voices heard before a Dec. 14 vote. Here is a link providing the information you need to contact your local reps to make your voices heard. It’s called BattleForTheNet.com. 5Calls.org is another good place you can go to help coordinate your voice with ours. That’s how we come together and make a big noise; which is to say, that is how we caucus.

“They have proposed to end net neutrality , and they are trying to force a vote on their plan on Dec. 14,” Rosenworcel writes. “It’s a lousy idea. And it deserves a heated response from the millions of Americans who work and create online every day.”

It’s been getting a heated response from Russian citizens, anyway.

Hundreds of thousands of comments in favour of this policy have come from Russian trolls. The FCC stymied the investigation into them.

The Federal Communications Commission order will throw out almost all of the regulations set in place by the Obama administration.

FCC chair Ajit Pai said in a statement Tuesday that “the FCC would simply require internet service providers to be transparent about their practices so that consumers can buy the service plan that’s best for them and entrepreneurs and other small businesses can have the technical information they need to innovate.”

What all that slick talk means, is that they want the legal right to squeeze your ISP for information about you and about what you are doing.

The FCC’s two Democratic members blasted the proposal as being a greedy and invasive policy, but the GOP has a majority on the commission. Barring a last-minute change of heart by one of the three Republican commissioners, the order will likely be approved during the agency’s next open meeting on December 14.

Internet freedoms have been at risk since the day of the Internet’s creation. And authoritarian practices have slowly crept into American cyberspace from authoritarian states.

In opposition to our dearly-held liberal beliefs about Internet freedom and independence, Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed the importance of what he calls “Internet Sovereignty”.

Vladimir Putin has taken this idea one step further by calling the Internet a “CIA project.

The free world once thought it would use economic and social ties to gradually liberalize authoritarian states. But the authoritarian states have abused this access and designed a web of economic interdependency through which to spread their corruption and repression at home and abroad. Instead of accepting our proffered hand up, they have used it to pull us down into the muck with them.

Even now, Russian hackers are trying to influence the fight over net neutrality, and according to New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, the federal government is not cooperating with investigations into the fraud. While Trump is in office, the apparatus of law will not be on our side.

Things have reached a point where our intelligence services are telling Israel and other trusted allies not to share information with Trump’s White House. It is safe to assume that applies to us as well.

It is, therefore, the recommendation of Millennial Democrats that we should all be ready to protect ourselves. We can’t risk losing our networks and our teammates every time Facebook or Twitter deletes one of our accounts. We cannot let them have all the power.

If things take much more of a turn for the worse, history indicates those of us who are stalwart members of the resistance are in for a very bad time.

For anyone who might be thinking that sounds drastic, keep in mind that public and private libraries around the United States have pledged to destroy user data on their computers, as well as backing up system data abroad.

The American Library Association has realized the danger. It made a statement on November 18 of last year that it would “work with President-elect Trump” and his transition team. Now the association has apologized, saying, “We understand that content from these press releases, including the 11/18/16 release that was posted in error, was interpreted as capitulating to and normalizing the incoming administration.” They realize now that is impossible.

At the Graduate Center at the City University of New York, librarians have begun purging interlibrary loan records. Guilt by association with controversial books has a very dark history. The McCarthy years are back. But this time they’re claiming that Russia is a buddy.

This is going to cost a tremendous amount of time and money for them. It’s the most serious decision they could make.

Clearly, they are taking this threat very seriously. There is every reason for us to take heed of their example.

The bottom line is this- If you’re against Trump, and you don’t intend to shut up about it, then it’s best to do everything in your power to keep them from knocking you offline and silencing you.

That is their goal, and they will cheat all they can to achieve it. Hundreds of unjust Facebook sentences suffered by loyal Democratic activists testify to that as this is written. Anonymity is your friend.

There are a number of important ways how we can keep ourselves safe and independent, and we’re going to make some specific recommendations.

First and foremost, we will be developing a cursory familiarity with the two most basic ways to stay anonymous online. These are known as the virtual private network, or VPN, and the Onion(Tor) Browser.

A Virtual Private Network, or VPN for short, is a secure network connection through which you can safely connect your device to public networks, or create a secure channel for remote access control between computers.

TorProject.org gives the definition of the Tor Browser project as being “free software and an open network that helps you defend against traffic analysis, a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security.”

The best solution is to use VPN and Tor in conjunction.

Just log on through your VPN, and then do your stuff through Tor. It isn’t perfect, but it’s a whole lot better than nothing. As for chat, we have a first class(and free) encrypted chat program available to us in the app known as  Telegram.

We also recommend that you gain at least a cursory familiarity with open-source Linux distributions such as Ubuntu. It’s free, its programs are free, and 99% of malware programs are written to target Microsoft system files.

For protection against malware we recommend(other than switching to Linux altogether) Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2017, which has consistently outperformed its competitors year after year.

Remember NOT to use Kaspersky’s antivirus, or anything Russian, under any circumstances.

The New York Times reported that Israel hacked Kaspersky and caught Russia using it to search for NSA exploits and other U.S. government classified programs. That’s how they got a copy of the Stuxnet virus.

The FBI has been warning us that we’re in huge danger of having our next elections hacked again, but too many Americans are still far from focused. We have our work cut out for us raising awareness.

Any dirt the Russians get their hands on will be accessible to Trump, which is bad news for his adversaries. The 200 protestors arrested on Trump’s Inauguration Day this year are facing sixty years in prison apiece for minor acts of vandalism last year. The message sent by that reads loud and clear. Things have busted loose all over God’s creation. You don’t want them poring over your records.

The cause of freedom and the threat of tyranny are locked in an ongoing, existential struggle. To the ones who would set up shop as tyrants, the Internet and the free flow of information it engenders is viewed as both a threat and an opportunity. There will always be many internal and external forces, seeking to challenge our security in the information realm.

Going forward, the goal is no less lofty than ensuring we will not be silenced.

The German poet Heinrich Heine, a man deeply reviled by the Nazis, warned us shortly before the Holocaust, “Where books are burned, in the end people are also burned.” We should keep in mind going forward, that if they wanted to do a book burning these days, they wouldn’t even need fire. They could just delete them.

To delete our work is to delete our thoughts and our voices as well.

We will not sit by and be quietly deleted.
