#BarrLied- Mueller Writes Letter Of Protest to AG Barr and Justice Department.

U.S. Attorney General William Barr is seated prior to testifying on the Justice Department’s budget proposal before a House Appropriations Subcommittee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, U.S., April 9, 2019.

The special counsel assigned to the investigation of Russia’s interference into our 2016 presidential election, Robert S. Mueller III, has written a letter of protest to the United States Department of Justice, due to the inappropriate handling of the summary of his report as handed to the American people by Attorney General William Barr.

He did it because Barr’s initial letter to Congress about the Russia investigation did not “fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions,” a Justice Department official said Tuesday. The objection was filed in a letter to Barr on March 27 and is indicative of dissonance between Barr’s prepared whitewashing and the truth. Mueller’s report was 448 pages long, and included handling of questions about potential obstruction of justice by Trump. Barr’s efforts seem like the latest, and most egregious, chapter. But it wasn’t unexpected. Barr’s son-in-law is working for Trump’s legal team directly! How’s that for a conflict of interest?

Barr is testifying tomorrow before the Senate Judiciary Committee and will be handled roughly by Democrats even though the agency is Republican-held. The hearing will revolve around his handling of Mueller’s report, as well as how exactly he reached the ridiculous conclusion that President Trump did not obstruct justice, refuted on every page of the document.

His April 18 news conference trying to paint Trump as a hero is sure to come up also.

The importance of this cannot be overstated. Mueller is not the kind of guy to stick his foot in the tornado that is this entire event without good reason. If he felt Barr had mischaracterized his findings severely enough to warrant such a letter, it is only common sense that we take this thing as seriously as he did.

Barr has blown any claim to credibility he ever had. He must immediately be pressured out of office, televised hearings must be held a la Hillary Clinton’s suggestion, and Mueller must be allowed to testify before the House of Representatives. Only then will the American people ever have the truth on this whole matter, and make no mistake. After all we have lived through, we have earned that. Trump is a crook, and we have always known it. We want the facts complete so that we can raise awareness about them. The path to regaining this country’s sanity lies only through this door.

Well said, Mr. Van Hollen.

Human Rights Crisis on the Border- Children of Immigrants Warehoused.

Immigrant Children

Officials from the Trump administration have been snatching children from their parents upon their arrival at the border, hoping to create a deterrent to immigrant parents trying to enter the United States.

Their concept is that fewer parents will ever try to enter the United States if they fear their children will be stolen from them.

Using the misery of children as a way to manipulate their parents is the act of a terrorist, not a president. Not only is this a cruel and savage policy, it isn’t even working. Leave it to the Republicans.

Friday’s revelation that the Trump administration separated 1,995 children from 1,940 adults between April 19 and May 31, according to a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, has painted more of the picture for us, in stark and ugly relief.

The administration’s “zero tolerance” policy, which was announced by the Department of Justice in April, separates children from their parents or legal guardians because the adults have been referred to DHS for prosecution for illegal entry into the United States.

The officials could not say whether parents were allowed to say goodbye to their parents before they are separated. Some reports have said parents are told their child is being taken to a separate facility for a bath, only to never see them again. In some cases, the children have been sent to places as far away as Chicago.

Separating parents from children was rare under the Obama administration and even the early Trump administration according to Reuters. They just started doing this, and it’s already been two thousand little kids. That’s approximately 46 children per day, over a six-week period.

We are not going to forget about those kids, and we’ll make sure no one else does, either. I wish there was more I could do.

The people who are responsible for this show no signs of allowing themselves to be held accountable by civilian authority. Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Oregon, when he tried to visit the facility on June 3, was turned away at the door. They also show no signs of planning to give those children back.

This is not the way things are done in the country we grew up in.

It seems like common sense to us, but not to the chief law enforcement officer in the country, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who used a Biblical passage on Thursday to try and justify these cruel and extreme actions.

“I would like to cite to you the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13,” Sessions said in a speech to law enforcement officers in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Sessions went on to insist that the Bible argues Christians must “obey the laws of the government because God has ordained them for the purpose of order.”

That same Bible passage was formerly used to justify slavery. It’s worth remembering here that Coretta Scott King herself warned us about Jeff Sessions.

As a brief aside, there are few things worse than using the sincere and earnest faith held by others as a way to convince them to go along with something ugly. The history of Christianity in America is full of that already, and we’re not about to accept this anymore. Do not drag the Bible through the mud.

As it becomes more clear that our worst nightmares have come true with this president, it becomes more clear as well that we have come up against something here that we have really got to resist.

This is not a game, nor a faux revolution. They’re locking up children in warehouses and holding them hostage. You cannot look something like that in the face and turn away without having made a choice. Silence is consent.

Hitler could never have come to power without the “ordinary Germans” who were willing to turn their backs on it all, for a comfortable life and trains that ran on time.

The comparisons to Nazis grow harder to ignore by the hour. The White House barked at MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough for coming out and saying it, but he was right, of course.

If only Trump took not acting like a Nazi as seriously as he seems to take not looking like one.

We have to hold out hope that there are still people out there in his camp that can still be convinced not to support him, by shining light on what he’s doing and making it impossible to ignore. We will accept any help, we will work with anybody.

Going forward, we can keep the pressure on them by raising awareness about what they are doing. Trump’s new policy is repugnant even for him.

This is a human rights issue, one that may well be the biggest of our time, and history will not look well upon those who are on the wrong side of it.  We’ve got to keep speaking out until they finally hear us.

If ever there was a time for a widespread moral outcry, this is it.

One Year In- 45th Fumes As Mueller Investigation Turns Two.

The Mueller investigation heats up as we enter Year Two.

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the formation of the special counsel investigation headed by Robert Mueller, and what a year it’s been.

Initially, its mandate was to investigate what the newly elected president knew about Russian interference into the 2016 election. But it quickly became clear that the president’s possible criminal tendencies would make it necessary to go a lot farther.

The president’s old lawyer, Ty Cobb, told him this would all be over by now. He got fired. The top lawyers in the country all refused to replace him. And then his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, got busted himself, and was replaced by former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is both over the hill and insane.

All is not well in the White House.

Over the past three decades, the man the Russians helped to elect as the president has allegedly committed just about every crime there is, from tax evasion to domestic abuse to sexual assault.

They say the past always catches up, and it seems like in this case, that is true.

In the last year, we have seen the myriad investigations into Donald Trump range all over the place, as America continues to learn more and more about what manner of man holds court in its highest office. This last week has illustrated the situation for us, in microcosm.

The Senate Judiciary Committee released hundreds of pages of interviews relating to Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. A few from Donald Trump Jr. shed light on a critical meeting between Trump campaign brass and Russians at Trump Tower in June 2016.

The Senate Intelligence Committee announced that it agreed with the Intelligence Community’s assessment that Russia sought to interfere in the 2016 election to help Trump and hurt Hillary Clinton.

And the Office of Government Ethics made public Trump’s 2017 financial disclosure statement.

That one hurts him.

This document is stone cold proof that he reimbursed Michael Cohen, his personal lawyer, for the $130,000 paid in hush money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Obviously very damning, but by then it was old news.

That one came courtesy of Trump’s lawyer, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, who really loves to talk.

He told us all that Trump knew of the Cohen payments on Sean Hannity’s talk show a day after he got the spot on the bench of Trump’s legal team. You’d think that would have taught him to shut up, but it didn’t. Earlier this week, he was talking again, to CNN’s Dana Bash.

He was boasting that he had been told by the special counsel’s office that they did not believe they could indict a sitting president, as per Justice Department regulations established during the Nixon era.

Who expected that? We’re obviously not going to send the sitting president to prison! He’d have to stand up for the morning head count, in the middle of security briefings! That was never the plan, it would be ludicrous.

If Rudy’s intent was to console his capo, by reassuring him he’s not getting locked up next week, it seems to this Millennial Democrats contributor that he has admirably failed in that duty.

What Giuliani’s speech really did, was to let us know things have gotten so serious, that Mueller and his team have probably been considering disregarding the previous Justice Department regulations and locking him up anyway.

It’s hard to understand why a legal expert would do this much talking, even if he is demented and past his prime. It doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. But that’s the nature of this administration and life in the country during it. Nothing makes sense, everything is topsy-turvy.

The same celebrities we loved twenty years ago have all turned into monsters, because they stepped into the political arena. They’re all so many fish out of the water. They don’t look any happier to be in power as we are to have them there.

As we prepare to follow this investigation into its second year, the big takeaway from the first one is that Donald Trump is almost certainly at least as guilty as Richard Nixon. But unlike Nixon, he probably won’t resign for the good of the country. And that is where the true crisis lies.

When Robert Mueller makes his recommendation at the end of all this, he very well may ultimately walk up to the desk of Rod Rosenstein and say Yeah, he did it! He knew everything!

It would then be the duty of the legislative branch to impeach him. Judging from their past conduct, it’s all too possible that this Congress, with their Republican majority, may not. They have undermined the Russiagate investigation from its first day.

If Trump is guilty and the Republicans ignore it, our democracy will have faced its greatest peril. We’ve got to do everything in our power to see to it that the Republicans in control of the House and Senate act with honor and fulfill their pledge to defend this country against tyranny, from within or without.

If they do not, we will soon go the way of the Roman Empire.

As this article was getting ready to publish, the news broke that Rudy Giuliani is talking again. This morning, he says that Robert Mueller has agreed to narrow the scope of his questioning in order to interview Donald Trump himself.

We’ll have to wait and see.

GOP Sells Out America on Russiagate- Stand While You Can.

We are living through what is perhaps the biggest week in the entire Russiagate saga thus far. It reads like a grocery list, so we’ll just get started.

Andrew McCabe, deputy director of the FBI, resigned under pressure. He essentially was forced out.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee voted to release an illegally altered staff memo alleging FBI surveillance abuses relating to the Trump-Russia investigation.

FBI Director Christopher Wray’s warning that some of the information is classified and there are “material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy” has been ignored.

The US House Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat, Adam Schiff, immediately castigated Republicans for going so far as to physically amend a prepared memo about claims of FBI surveillance at the 2016 election.

“This is not about the facts,” Schiff said. “This is about a narrative the chairman (Nunes) wants to put out – a misleading narrative, to undermine the FBI, undermine the department and ultimately undermine Bob Mueller.

These changes were made minutes after the Committee signed off on it, and minutes before turning it in to Donald Trump. Two other memos on the subject are also floating around, but those are not likely to reach the public. What a surprise.

Next, within minutes of the committee vote, the Trump administration announced that it will not impose the new sanctions on Russia.

Both the House and the Senate voted nearly unanimously (another guy who refused to make that vote was Bernie Sanders) for the sanctions, but this also was ignored, even though earlier in the same afternoon CIA chief Mike Pompeo released a report of his conclusion that Russia is preparing to hack our midterm elections.

There have already been sanctions in place for Russia’s annexing of Crimea in 2014, and for its repeated aggression and provocations in Ukraine and elsewhere. This new set was intended to punish Russia specifically for meddling in the 2016 presidential election. But Trump, the beneficiary of all this hacking, has paid off for his master in a big way.

Looks like Vladimir Putin has finally made his next move.

They’re calling it his Saturday Night Massacre.

Leading Democrat Adam Schiff suggested the White House would use the memo, if released, to fire Robert Mueller or Department of Justice head Rod Rosenstein.

In December,Trump accosted Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller, regarding his personal loyalties. He wanted to know whether Mr Rosenstein was “on my team”, CNN reports.

That’s the same sort of Hitler-esque loyalty oath he asked James Comey for. When he did not receive it, he recklessly fired Comey, opening this door and kicking off this whole process in earnest. That type of nonsense is what makes him an extremely useful idiot to Putin.

Russian TV was filled with glee, their jubilant anchor boasting that “Trump is ours again!” according to translator Julia Davis.

By subverting the Congressional Republicans, Putin has delivered the most tremendous blow yet to our democracy. This is a far greater coup than subverting one slovenly old debtor.

Trump in and of himself is nothing. He’s a babbling imbecile. No one pays him any mind on his own except his deplorable base.

The Supreme Court and Chief of Staff John Kelly, the real President, have done what they can to restrain him, but what’s really kept him from getting much done is incompetence.

With Putin there to provide strategic guidance, however, and both houses of the Congress in the hands of his Republican allies, Trump’s capacity to deal out damage in this whole mega-treason becomes enormous. The casual observer wonders about the purpose of a visit paid to Pompeo by top Russian spy chiefs, ostensibly to discuss counter-terrorism measures, earlier this week.

The actual Saturday Night Massacre refers to the incident of then-President Richard Nixon fired Archibald Cox, the Special Prosecutor assigned to handle the investigation of the Watergate scandal. It ultimately led to his impeachment, but not before doing much to complete the ideological cleaving of America. And the Congress that went through with getting rid of him was not the same creature as that of today.

We cannot be lulled into believing that this Congress will have the same sort of stomach and decency as the one that prepared to oust Nixon. Democrats hold neither house. And these Republicans have acted without conscience at every vote. There is not a sound reason to trust them, especially after the way they conducted themselves in regards to this anti-FBI memo.

The two top Democrats in Congress, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, have called for the removal of House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes in the latest development in a fierce battle over the chairman’s classified memo.

This development places us in the worst situation we’ve yet seen. The essence of it is that the Republicans and their billionaire masters, like the Koch brothers, have willingly turned a blind eye to everything for the sake of the fat tax cut they got. They’re bending right over for Putin.

Many of them are showing signs of indigestion of the conscience, as evidenced by the fact of so many of the GOP leaders in Congress retiring, but it’s a little late for that. They have already proven willing to accept anything for the sake of that money, even the death of our democracy and subservience to a foreign dictator. There’s no going back now.

On Wednesday, South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, became the third GOP lawmaker in just the past week to announce plans to leave Congress at the end of this term.

“Washington’s not a very pleasant place for anybody,” said former representative Tom Davis, a Virginia Republican who retired in 2008. “The public hates you.”

The nature of their plot has now become as obvious as it was shortsighted- to take the money, and run before the Nuremberg trials start up.

Make no mistake, Democrats- We are on our own this year.

If the Blue Wave is indeed going to sweep over this country at the midterm elections, we are going to have to work very hard, because nobody is going to do it for us. We can expect no help whatsoever dealing with Russian cyber-aggression from the government, because we are not in control of the government. It is our opinion that everyone should be really careful.

Even earlier today, Millennial Democrats experienced a bruteforce attack. This hacker, from Lviv, Ukraine, tries this all the time, which does at least save us the trouble of having to assemble fresh pictures.

First we get an alert, as in Exhibit One.

Bored, uncreative loser who tried to hack me
Exhibit One- a turd who tried to hack us.

Then we go to a site called WhatismyIPaddress.com, and take a look at where the culprit’s from. The details thus given can be seen in Exhibit Two.

Creepy.
Exhibit Two- Lviv is a very famous place, world renowned for the quality of its IT experts. Unfortunately, it is also the host of this parasite.

We are going to need to stick closely together, as the only thing we’ve got left is one another. The Republicans are active hostiles. The Russians are digging in deeper every day. And we have no central leadership at all. If we don’t stand up now, we will never again be able.

A Constitutional Crisis- Mueller Under Attack.

American Hero

In the irony of a lifetime, it is us Democrats who must now defend Robert Mueller, a Republican, from the slings and arrows of his own party.

According to Democrat Jackie Speier, rumour has it on Capitol Hill Trump is planning to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller as early as later this week. This is not something that could happen in an instant, but the threat is real and the thought is grotesque. It was probably kicked up because of the panic caused by the very idea. As a distraction from the tax plan, this was undoubtedly a big help to Trump.

It’s almost an application of Henry Kissinger’s old “madman” policy, e.g. You’d better make a deal with us because the guy with the keys is crazy. God only knows what he might do. In this case, the implication is, “You’d better back off, and let us have our tax plan victory, or we’re going to destroy your democracy”.

The alt-right propaganda pipeline has been preparing the groundwork for an attack on the Special Counsel Robert Mueller for the last month or so now. It’s really quite despicable. This man held the country together during 9/11, with less than a year’s experience.

What did Trump do during 9/11? He spent the day giving interviews boasting that one of his towers might well be the tallest in the city. At the cost of the World Trade Center. And thousands of lives.

Trump is hardly even going through the motions anymore of bothering to hide that Vladimir Putin is his boss. So he spreads this rumour, and he sends lawyers Mueller’s way next week. He wants to try and bully them into giving the assurance that Trump himself is no longer under fire- ironically, the same assurance James Comey gave freely, before he was randomly fired.

The truth of the matter, though, is that Trump is very much still under fire. In fact, the fire is spreading. The trials haven’t even started yet. Those will be a disaster for Trump.

Once Michael Flynn brings down Jared Kushner, it is very hard to believe he will stay loyal to elderly Donald at the cost of his own future. He won’t be able to take jail, in there wondering what Ivanka is up to. He’ll snitch his way out of everything he can, just like George Papadoupolis.

But long before any of this takes place, they’re going to try every dirty trick in the book.

The possibility that they’re laying the groundwork to get rid of Mueller cannot be discounted. We have passed the point of paranoia. Trump lies whenever he gets the chance. We will have to keep a close eye on how he handles this and be ready to meet up with national resistance efforts coordinated to take to the streets en masse.

Look for a scenario in which he fires the attorney general Jeff Sessions or the current head of the Department of Justice Rod Rosenstein. If either of them should suddenly depart the stage, watch out.

Those are the guys who would have to sign off on the termination of the Special Counsel. As Sessions recused himself and Rosenstein has stated he’d refuse to fire Mueller without cause, it’s unlikely it will happen with the two of them in charge. If they were to be replaced by some alt-right peons wielding rubber stamps, however, it would be possible.

Going forward, it’s important to keep our spirits up and our focus razor sharp. The Republicans have just passed their own demise in the form of this tax bill. We have to focus on winning elections. Every seat is crucial.

Earlier this evening, a Republican lobbyist called for President Donald Trump to fire special counsel Robert Mueller. This pronouncement was made in Arlington, Virginia, to the sparse attendees of random guy Jack Burkman’s fundraiser, held to help cover the legal defenses of Rick Gates, a former Trump campaign aide facing several felony charges.

“I don’t like what Bob Mueller’s doing. I think Mr. Gates and Mr. Manafort and Mr. Flynn have been unfairly targeted, and I see Mueller as a desperate guy, an increasingly desperate prosecutor,” said the unhappy Mr. Burkman, sentiments that are echoed by a growing number of alt-right lunatics. These people have respect for nothing.

It has to be understood that if Trump wins this battle, our democracy will probably not recover.

This is not the same Congress that eviscerated Nixon for firing Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox. The crisis we see on the horizon is simply this: If they strong-arm this investigation closed, it will cause a rift of trust between us and our leaders that never heals. It will take hundreds of years to undo the damage.

Putin will work his tendrils in, one millimetre at a time, until they become like strong ropes, tying down a giant for thousands of miles. It is happening all around us, even now. Robert Mueller is the most powerful defence we have against it. When we fight for him, we fight for the country.
