In the name of good sense, man! Please listen to me!
I know where I’m going! We’ve somewhere to be!
Let me speak for Joe Biden! Let me talk to them!
I’m one of these people!
They’re mostly my friends!
They will welcome the sound of my voice.
And I know, For the Bible tells me so!
I will speak for these people, for God only knows
Their voices are not being heard by all those
Who live in golf kingdoms and Ivory Towers
And watch us like beasts in their leisurely hours
Serene in their money, through bulletproof glass!
But it can’t keep the truth out! Now hear our forecast!
I’ll tell, if you’ll listen, the way that it is.
The people are feeling cut loose and adrift.
The people need life that makes sense and a plan.
We are starving for knowledge, and most of all, man
The people need language that we understand!
The people are hurting. The people are tired!
We’re bewildered and mad because we’ve been lied to!
We’re insisting today that you tell us the truth!
The American people are proudest on Earth!
We’ll be damned before demagogues play us like dupes!
Let me be the first, sir, to tell you aright
We don’t mean to waltz gently into that good night!
We the People are getting fed up, sir! We’ll fight!
We will kick down the doors of those hiding the light!
Let me talk to the people. They’ll listen to me.
Their struggles and dreams are the same ones I see.
We love this dear country with all that we are,
And we’re sick in our hearts at what’s happening to her!
The people need someone with stomach and heart
Who will be there for us when life’s looking most dark.
We’ve only got one first rank option, and so
We chose a good man with the good sense to know
That we’re willing and able and raring to go!
We are Ridin with Biden, millennials we.
All of us have been ready. So with no delay
It’s my duty to tell you, dear sir, that today
All us people are waiting to hear what you’ll say.
We believe in you, Joe.
You’re our last, best hope.
For the love of God
By all His many names,
Be worthy of us!
We the People of,
The greatest country in the world!
The Association of State Democratic Committees had some very good news for us on Tuesday. According to their announcement, every leading presidential contender has vowed not to create “any organizing or messaging infrastructure that is parallel or duplicative” to the DNC or state parties. According to Politico, the signed pledge also binds candidates to publicly call on their supporters not to launch outside groups on their behalf.
That leaves the fate of Bernie Sanders-created PAC Our Revolution uncertain at best. Probably their days are numbered.
It’s a good thing too. This organization is a hornet’s nest. Nina Turner is one of the bigwigs over there, and she’s a vicious cannibal through and through, an eater of guests beneath her roof. She told all her supporters to go and vote Jill Stein in 2016, and they did. Now look where we are. They have our children on the border in dog cages, and none of it could have happened without that set of crazies from Bernie’s old camp, back then.
Many disasters have taken place involving the DNC since 2016, and most are the fault of the so-called progressives. Here at Millennial Democrats, we’ve been charting out the story now for years. The biggest coup they scored was his just over three years ago, the Russian-facilitated Wikileaks dump of illegally acquired DNC emails.
Now-prisoner Julian Assange got together with Russia, now-prisoner Roger Stone, and now-prisoner Paul Manafort to plan out what surely ranks as one of the most effective non-military blows ever struck by one country at another. Russian disinformation manipulated American opinion just as our intelligence used to do to small Third World powers back in Reagan’s time and before. It was like living in a banana republic.
Their efforts, as it happened, prepared an abominable toxin for blue chances in 2016. Insane members of the Bernie or Bust cult rioted in the streets of Philadelphia outside Hillary Clinton’s nomination ceremony, Bernie said nothing at all to calm them down, and America was watching. In a bizarre twist of fate, as they did, the first song of the ceremony inside was beginning, Paul Simon’s Bridge over Troubled Waters. Clinton’s campaign never really recovered. We lost the election that night.
And yet, the emails were nothing! Many of us vetted them thoroughly, all twenty-eight thousand of them. They ended up proving Debbie Wasserman Schultz (DWS) did some fussing about the Sanders’ campaign’s inability to file FEC forms out properly. Bernie had to have known they didn’t even hint at anything improper. He also had to know how great the peril of Donald Trump actually winning that fall’s general was afterward.
Why didn’t Bernie go speak for hours in the rain to calm them down? That’s what he’d been doing for himself, according to one post I read back then. The great altruist, St. Bernard, friend of the little man.
It should never be forgotten that without should-be-prisoner Tad Devine, the senior strategist in Bernie’s camp, Sanders might have calmed down enough to actually do that. But Tad, who had worked with Paul Manafort for years in Ukraine cooking up elections for Putin, Tad who had made his crisis his brand (literally; Our Brand is Crisis is a slogan of his and the name of a documentary about him), was not about to let that happen, even when other campaign officials such as manager Jeff Weaver would have liked to see him go a different way.
This connection struck us as the absolute height of fishiness back then, but nobody listened, least of all Bernie and his bots. When Manafort went on trial last year right around now, Tad was the first witness. What did the line of questioning require of him? To answer for what he knew about cooking those elections up in Ukraine for then-president Viktor Yanukovych and Vladimir Putin!
When this came out, Sanders was silent, and so were his followers, many of whom later rejoiced when Trump got off the hook in the Mueller investigation. They never wanted to hear anything about Russia back then, even though half of the admins in their groups were Macedonian and other Eastern European infiltrators only around to spread disinformation and foment rancor in the hearts those they were paid to attack- the American left, both moderate and progressive. Bernie or Bust has betrayed its every cause at every turn.
Going forward, it’s incumbent on us not to forget why we’re doing this, what our cause is. The cause is the service of the United States and its people. It’s about making progress de facto instead of just de jure on issues like health care or climate change, both major targets of the libertarian right, which we can never do without being in power. You can forget about holding ICE accountable, too, much less stripping it of funding.
In this case it was about protecting American elections from foreign manipulations. It wasn’t just about getting Donald Trump; or, at least, it shouldn’t have been. Russian interference in the Sanders campaign was hardly covered at all by Robert Mueller; that’s why Tad was a witness instead of being just another jailbird. The mainstream media said hardly a word. Raising awareness about this is still very difficult, given the frightful dearth of information available to the busy citizen who would just the same be informed if it were possible. That is simply wrong. It is not best for America.
Our Revolution, the group currently under the scope, is an outgrowth of that same cancerous 2016 Sanders campaign, a topsy-turvy landscape where nothing had value and truth did not even pretend to exist. Having done well for oneself financially became a crime unless you were the millionaire Bernie Sanders. He wouldn’t show his tax returns back then, just like Trump.
The same energy still floats around it; It is a good thing for us to strongly advocate the new 2020 candidate agreement not to try and duplicate the DNC be made to include the complete and total dissolution of Our Revolution, a political action committee (PAV) created by Sanders himself. It has to go.
As an aside, this is not in our opinion the deserved fate of all pro-Sanders groups. No matter how annoying they may be, no matter how toxic their socialistic brand, we will stand for their right to speak just as fervently as we would our own or even a libertarian’s, though not a Nazi’s.
If only there were a way to do the same to the Justice Democrats! would be a logical first thought, but of course, that would involve getting rid of Millennial Democrats as well. God bless our dear good country, that bothers to protect our rights to speak. All of us.
Returning to our thread, try and contemplate the unthinkable for a moment (this should NOT be attempted by sane Democrats with heart or blood pressure conditions; we’ll take one for the team, folks). Imagine if Bernie did win the candidacy, his rape fantasy essays and all. In a general election? Has the whole world gone crazy?
Having all these metric tons of crap hung over our heads like a big brown Sword of Damocles would be a disaster. It’ll be Eugene McCarthy all over again. A thorough and outright joke. Trump will laugh himself back into the Oval Office, and the looks on all our faces will be the punchline.
I don’t want to be a punchline!
Going forward, it seems clear that we have got to stand together strongly to beat Trump. The whole left, not just the moderates or progressives. A house divided can never stand for long. If we are to win next year, if things are going to improve for any of us, we have got to show some unity right now. One family, one leadership, one nomination committee. The DNC must remain in command of strategical coordination, they are going to need our help, and only one solution serves all needs.
Our Revolution must go, and the rest of us must stay.
It’s been a long road for Bernie Sanders, starting from Point A to B, and not a pleasant one. From his love for the Cuban Revolution to the time President John F. Kennedy made him “nauseous”, it is clear that this is not a man whose values are in line with that of most of America. Just the same, whenever you look at a person, you’ve got to take a whole lifetime’s worth of events into account. Nobody got where they were going overnight, and to an extent, fate takes us where it will, but one thing is for certain.
In the end, we all have to take responsibility for ourselves.
We’ve got to own our choices and their consequences too. If former judge Roy Moore of Kentucky, for example, molests a 14-year old girl, he has no one but himself to blame for his political prospects being dampened later and Democrat Doug Jones taking the Senate seat he wanted. People change, but rarely to that extent. We are who we are, as the old song goes. A leopard never changes his spots.
Where is all this going, you ask? Back in time to Moscow, on the honeymoon of Jane and Bernie Sanders.
There he is, folks. The man with no shirt, drunkenly bawling out “This Land Is Your Land” to the Soviets, is the same guy who wants to be our next president.
This cannot be allowed.
This is obviously not a recent video, but it’s important nonetheless. It is a foundational part of a career-long flirtation with socialism that has distorted people’s views of it all over the world and added a good deal of confusion to what is already one of the most muddled topics discussed by the human race, making it even more of a gigantic hodgepodge.
The Nordic countries, for example, according to Bernie are “Democratic Socialist” countries.
They are not. And for the record, they find it offensive to say that.
The social democracies of the Baltic states run their country according to free-market principles just the same as we American Democrats do, it’s just that they take care of their citizens also. This is what every liberal wants, and has since before the time of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal. It’s called Social Democracy.
Before anyone tries chalking that up as semantics, please stop to consider among other things the five million people slaughtered in Russia during the first Five-Year Plan implemented by the Bolsheviks.
Consider also that the Nordics themselves, who managed to create a model for the rest of us, consider it offensive when Americans refer to their social democratic system as socialism.
The ex-president of Denmark wrote to Bernie in 2016, saying he was “Sick of his Socialist Slurs“, and asking him specifically to stop calling their governmental systems by the incorrect and politically loaded term socialism.
Here at Millennial Democrats, we certainly can understand and thoroughly agree with anyone who is advocating a closer study of the Nordic model. But we have to draw the line when it comes time to sling mud at it. It’s important to be respectful. Call people what they want to be called, call things by the correct names they are given by their creators. “Democratic” socialism is not the correct term. Social democracy is.
Bernie Sanders was lucky to be able to get to the Soviet Union in 1988 and praise all its stunning socialist achievements before the entire system and empire collapsed under the weight of its own spectacular failures. pic.twitter.com/bENmwVKi0g

In Europe, socialism is another word for communism. Communism ravaged Europe. We can look at the twelve former Soviet satellite states for a model here. Every state that bought into Soviet thinking is doing horribly now, worse than any other region of the world. The innards of deep Africa are on an upward trajectory, economically speaking, but not Moldova or Belarus. In America, we say that the Soviets were “communist”, but this is not truly accurate. What they really had over there was centralized socialism, which Bernie praises all the way.
As he campaigns for president a second time, Bernie keeps trying to take credit for moving the party to the left. This is not really fair; it’s more of jumping on the bandwagon that real Democrats have been building up since before World War Two. Donald Trump also has a lot to do with the party’s leftward swing, if only because he is so utterly revolting; people want to be where he is not, regardless of where that is.
Either way, Bernie says he is the torchbearer, but he now is finding he has plenty of competition among his mostly-younger and more effective peers in the upcoming American 2020 presidential election. He is not the only one with a health care plan anymore. As a result, Sanders has been relying on personal history, where decades of past stubbornness do indeed prove that he’s been singing the same song all his life. His march with Martin Luther King Jr. is a standard; that one got him booed off the stage of the “She the People” event last week.
As he stood on Soviet soil, Sanders at the age of 46 is seen criticizing the cost of housing and health care in the United States, while lauding the Soviet Union. There, at a banquet attended by about 100 people, “Sanders blasted the way the United States had intervened in other countries, stunning one of those who had accompanied him.” (2)
“I got really upset and walked out,” said David F. Kelley, who had helped arrange the trip and was the only Republican in Sanders’s entourage. “When you are a critic of your country, you can say anything you want on home soil. At that point, the Cold War wasn’t over, the arms race wasn’t over, and I just wasn’t comfortable with it.”
Well, Mr. Kelley, you are not alone.
Going forward, we’ve got to keep the pressure on, raising awareness about what kind of a guy the formerly unknown entity Bernie Sanders is. This guy and his crazy followers rioted in the streets of Philadelphia for no reason and at the behest of Russians back in 2016, as Hillary Clinton went to go accept her nomination. They will do it again as sure as you’re born. Letting people know why they need to stand against this left-wing demagogue is important.
That video really says it all.
Former staffers and alumni of the 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign wrote a lengthy letter to Bernie’s office, wanting to set up a meeting with Bernie’s office to address the climate of “sexual violence” that took place during the 2016 primary season. They labeled the situation as it developed “untenable”, and “dangerous”. They made specific reference to a pervasive culture of toxic masculinity
More than two dozen women and men who worked on that campaign participated in the letter’s crafting.
“In recent weeks there has been an ongoing conversation on social media, in texts, and in person, about the untenable and dangerous dynamic that developed during our campaign,” they wrote.
It’s about time.
This letter is not only a huge nail in undead Bernie’s coffin. It is also solid proof of something we’ve been waiting a long time for; namely, that the 9 of 10 Sanders supporters who went on to vote for Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 have inside them the moral capacity needed to assert themselves and make their voices heard on this incredibly important matter.
We’ve been hoping for years for this because it had been getting really hard to keep respecting those who kept on supporting Sanders through it all.
For three years now, we who occupy the sane center of America’s political spectrum have been forced to watch as a new type of critter, the Bernie Bro, crawled up out of the primordial filth to start spewing all over the country’s national dialectic. You couldn’t get through ten posts on your Facebook timeline without seeing some line of anti-Clinton conspiracy hatred slathered somewhere around a #BernieOrBust hashtag.
Nor has this tendency generally improved; this is clearly evidenced by the recent torrent of Bro slander unleashed against Beto O’Rourke.
It has been so disgusting that I know many people who will not now even say they’re on the left at all. They’ll say only that they are moderates. That is because their revulsion to the psychosis that led Bernie supporters to riot in the streets of Philadelphia during Hillary’s acceptance of the 2016 Democratic Party presidential nomination is so total.
I hope that one day they will heal enough to allow themselves to be brought back around. We need them.
This is the end for Bernie Sanders. His revolution is over, and his foundations are crumbling. Revolution Messaging, his feared social media machine, works for Beto now. Tad Devine is burned up; he was the first witness called at Paul Manafort‘s trial. Bernie’s campaign manager and Trump’s campaign manager were linked inextricably both by fate and Robert Mueller. Chief strategist Jeff Weaver was one of the ones who signed the letter.
It’s over. Time to move on.
This taking of accountability by the mentally stable members of the Sanders campaign will be a big start in restoring strength and unity to the sane center, where the middle class in all nations live.
All of us have known many Bernie supporters who were great people, progressive in the true sense of the word, people who were willing to overlook his lousy resume because they felt the issues he was championing to be so important. In all fairness and sincerity, they were! Income inequality in America really is gigantic. The middle class really is disappearing, we really do need public healthcare, and Norway really does have an excellent system of government- a capitalist one, like every other civilized country in the world.
All of that was valid, and those people who fought for it and still voted for Clinton are honorable, good Americans, just like us. But they have been shouted down by the same people who’ve been trying to shout us down, that noisy, visible, and unruly pack of creatures known as the Bernie Bros.
Those Bros are the ones who revealed the side of Bernie he didn’t want you to see.
The one who said women would prefer to stay home.
The one who said that Planned Parenthood is the establishment.
The one who voted to get lighter prison sentences for rapists.
The one who penned rape fantasy essays in the ’70s.
The list goes on ad nauseum, but one thread remains the same. This is a man who never, ever, in his whole twenty-eight years in the Congress, did a thing to champion black issues, women’s issues, LGBT issues, or really any issues except ones directly concerning white men like him. He also renamed two post offices.
Remember those last set of 2016 Democratic primary debates? Both presidential contenders were fiery, and passionate, which was only to be expected in what had, until that point, been a highly issues- focused and progressively driven primary. But once Bernie started losing, he got out and out rude. Rather than taking the opportunity to renounce the extremities of misogyny committed by his supporters, his performance gave weight to the concern Paul Krugman expressed back then: “Bernie is becoming a Bernie Bro.”
During the debate, Sanders interrupted Clinton again and again, at one point even throwing out a long “excuuuuse me” while wagging his finger. When not interrupting, he sat there smirking and making faces while Clinton spoke. At one point, he was seen muttering a sarcastic “OK.”
Imagine how this would play out in a general election! Imagine how Trump would beat us over the head with this!
We have just finished seeing the end of the Year of the Democratic Woman. Nearly a hundred women across America just won midterm elections. And women have for years now been dragged savagely through the mud by the maniacal supporters of Bernie. If the choice was Trump vs Bernie, how better than to thoroughly demoralize them? What a win-win for Vladimir Putin.
During the election, one of our contributors was told that they hoped she was gang-raped, due to her refusal to support their chosen master. And on the subject of rape, look at what Bernie himself wrote on the subject! Just don’t look right after lunch. They might as well have invited Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby.
Quoth St. Bernard,
“A man goes home and masturbates, to his usual fantasy- A woman tied up, a woman on her knees, a woman abused. A woman enjoys intercourse with her man- as she fantasizes being raped by three men simultaneously.”
“Have you ever looked at the Stag, Man, Hero, Tough magazines on the shelf of your local bookstore? Do you know why the newspaper with the articles like ‘Girl of 12 raped by 14 men’ sell so well? To what in us are they appealing?”
It’s clear Bernie knows to what they are appealing, at any rate, and why not? He always has the answers, to everything!
Watch for the moniker ‘Rape Fantasy Bernie’ to join the ranks of Lyin’ Ted and Little Marco. This is all to say nothing of the other baggage he comes with; the list is so long it’s taken over a dozen articles for this organization even to begin touching it. Here’s a timeline compilation on Bernie’s bull from Medium; if you’ve got three days to spend reading, knock yourself out.
It would be the biggest disaster in the history of the Democratic Party, Nixon vs. McGovern all over again.
We have always known and believed that most of his supporters are not the kind of people to permanently turn a blind eye to all this, and it’s a big relief to see them start asserting their awareness. They should know that they have compromised themselves severely over the years by remaining silent while all this went on for basic political reasons, e.g. they didn’t want to hurt Bernie. They should be commended for finally realizing that in this issue, Bernie has hurt himself and that the topic has needed addressing.
They should be deeply commended for putting this plan into action, and actually writing that letter. Sexual violence. That’s heavy.
Last year, Millennial Democrats addressed it ourselves, when anti-Semitic organizer Linda Sarsour invited Sanders to be the keynote speaker at the Women’s March. There was an outcry over that so huge that Bernie backed out as fast as his legs would carry him so that people would stop talking about this.
The choice of Bernie Sanders was an insult to every woman everywhere.
This year, Chicago won’t have the Women’s March, because they found out what Sarsour really is. Until she is gone, there is no Women’s March. A California Women’s March has been canceled as well, this time because of racial issues that have never been addressed by these rabid supporters of Bernie Sanders.
Just as we wrote last year, we need to Occupy the Women’s March, but that’s another story.
Perhaps after he fails to change, and they come to understand he’s been this way for sixty years and isn’t changing, they’ll make the next logical step, and come back over to our side, where nothing but welcome awaits them.
The next words are for all sane supporters of Bernie Sanders- Come back to us. We will embrace you.
By all means, go ahead with your plan to convert and reform Bernie, and the climate of “sexual violence” that takes place around him. If you succeed, it’s the best thing for America and the human race. Every person who becomes a champion for the rights of women, and everyone else, has done something to promote a better world. This would also mean we get to look forward to hearing him take full public accountability for six decades worth of chauvinism.
He’d better get started.
Our predictions for your success, however, are sadly not very bright. We Democrats have been trying to reason with Bernie for many years, but the kind of guy who said JFK made him nauseous is not likely to align precisely with traditional liberal and progressive goals. If and when he fails to achieve in this, the modest task that is his charge, give us a call.
This is being written on New Year’s Day. 2019 is here, and the halfway point of the Trump presidency will be crossed in just under three weeks. The end is in sight. We need to win next year and rid the country of Donald Trump.
Let us now come together once and for all to pick a leader who can guide us through the storm. And let us realize, once and for all, that Bernie Sanders is not it.
Voters went to the polls across four southern states on Tuesday to vote in Democratic primary elections, and brought with them a sharp refutation to radical leftist narratives from earlier in the election cycle.
Candidates favored by the national Democratic Party establishment did very well. Their more extreme competition, in most cases, did not.
These primaries were overwhelmingly swept by moderate Democratic women and were key to a number of congressional districts considered critical for our chances to win back the House.
They are also significant, in that they are highlighting the general trend of Democratic women emerging as leaders, and of the American people finding their way back to political moderation.
This fall’s races in these four Southern states will have a lot to say about whether or not we Democrats will be able to complete our task of redefining regional politics, in preparation for the battle to come this fall.
Our ability to do that is what retaking control of the House of Representatives will depend on.
Progressive ideas have flourished in the post-2016 Democratic Party, and real changes are coming. But it’s real Democrats who are making them happen. The ones who are members of the party.
The people who say the word “progressive” most are the ones now running groups like Our Revolution, an apparatus created after the election for bringing Bernie Sanders’s political revolution down-ballot continues to struggle to establish itself as a real difference-maker.
This group has done so badly since that we’re about done even mentioning them. They’re withering on the vine on their own. Most of their candidates bombed out terribly today.
Politico recently did a piece on the Sanders-inspired organization. It’s no longer merely withering. It’s going down in flames. They are not helping and they are not the ones spearheading the drive toward tangible change.
The Democratic Party as a whole is moving leftward along the political spectrum, in terms of policy and temperament. A recent survey by the Pew Research Center, which takes a periodic look at partisanship on various issues, indicates that to be true.
That’s a good thing, so long as we don’t push too hard and blow it like the radical left insists on doing. Most everyone is sick of “revolution”. We’ve been headed left for more than twenty years. And it has nothing to do with Bernie Sanders and his proxies.
There has never been a set of midterms so crucial. Everyone on every side knows this. The best chance we’ve got of getting rid of Donald Trump before 2020, except maybe for the 25th Amendment, is to turn the Congress blue.
We need Democrats in the legislative branch to get this country turned around again, and to get rid of Donald Trump.
We need each other right now more than ever, and in spite of all this, there’s a certain element on the left that refuses to care about any of this and instead insists on fighting their own people. That has to stop.
I saw a good point in an article a while back about progressive energy at the local level; awesome. It takes us all. Working together, and not against each other.
It’s not about rejecting progressive ideas; just the opposite. Democrats are all progressives. The 2016 platform was progressive to a magnificent degree.
But in order to be truly progressive, you’ve got to demonstrate that you can make progress. Our Revolution has shown no ability to tip a major Democratic election in its favor, despite possessing Sanders’ prized email list, and can claim no major wins in 2018 as its own.
This has reportedly left many Sanders supporters feeling disillusioned. The group was designed to harness the senator’s grass-roots movement and carry it forward in his name. Many true believers have seen that it is failing in its mission.
Either way, while the top brass of the aforementioned organization is eating each other, the rest of us have a lot of work to do.
It’s time to start focusing on the positives and putting the past to bed, and this finally brings us around to some good news. Some news about unity.
In Georgia, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Our Revolution all supported Stacey Abrams in her primary race for governor, and she won!
Her win was historic, as she will be the first black woman to be a candidate of a major party to run for Governor in Georgia. It marks the beginning of a new direction for the party. This is truly the year of the Democratic woman.
Stephon Clark, a human being, who loved and was loved, has been reduced to another grisly statistic of gun crime, for no reason at all.
Monique Judge of Root Magazine wrote that “It was like watching crowds flocking to a concert.”
This is a massive and despicable state of unjust affairs. Andy Warhol wrote that in the future, everyone would get to have their fifteen minutes of fame, and in many ways that prediction proved prescient.
But you ought to be alive for it!
Dr. Monica Williams wrote the following perspective for PBS.
“In Baton Rouge, cops straddle a guy pinned on the ground, put a gun to his back and pump bullets into him. His life ends. That one still haunts me. In Charlotte, a man lies bleeding as his wife screams for help. She asks if anyone has called an ambulance. The police do nothing. How is this affecting the black community? “How do you think,” I want to say. We are sad, angry, and traumatized. We’re living in terror.”
Many believe that the problem is not even getting worse, but rather has been going on all along. They say the only real difference is that now we’re capturing more of it on video.
There is such a thing as racial trauma. Black people and other persons of color are telling us their stories. It’s not like they’re all just getting together and making it up. The time has come to recognize fully that the American experience is not the same for everyone. Racism is still real, and murderously powerful.
This Millennial Democrats contributor remembers watching Fruitvale Station and having to shut it off, and it’s good that for me, that was an option. For many, it isn’t, and until that changes, we have still got a lot of work to do.
In related news, the #Neveragain movement is working on converting momentum into something more tangible. The walkout is over, but the protest has just begun.
We are here, seven months before the midterm elections, two years before the 2020 election.
It is our duty to make it stick, and we are more than able.
Half a million and more descended on D.C. and other MarchForOurLives rallies all across the country to demand that politicians support additional restrictions on gun ownership.
Those who attended the march say they’re determined to see this through.
Alex Bihari, one young man who attended the Washington march said that when he goes to the polls for the first time this year, he said, he″ll vote on three issues: Guns, immigrants and refugees, and how candidates stand on Donald Trump.
“If someone is on the payroll of the NRA and gun lobby, that’s a deal breaker for me,” he said. “If someone is not willing help refugees and immigrants, that’s a deal breaker for me. If someone supports Donald Trump, that’s a deal breaker for me.”
Hillary Clinton, unlike Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump, earned a solid F rating from the NRA. They paid untold millions to have untold numbers of pages written, to warn all their followers about it. A significant part of the Wikileaks dumps was focused on it.
And less than a week after that, the head of Project Veritas Action, James O’Keefe, released an undercover video including footage of one of the hosts of the fundraiser, Integrated Archive Systems CEO Amy Rao, expressing how she thinks Clinton would pursue control.
In regards to guns, Rao told O’Keefe, “Hillary wants to shut it down,” adding, “If we can get guns away from everyone in this country, she’ll close loopholes, she’ll get rid of assault weapons, she will get rid of being able to buy unlimited bullets, she will make all that stop.”
That is why they hated Hillary Clinton.
The chief strategist behind the 1994 Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act and the 1994 ban on assault weapons was a man named Richard Aborn. He said the Parkland students have succeeded in raising this kind of energy because they are doing something that past survivors of mass shootings have not- threatening to throw out of office those who won’t consider their point of view. And that is what we have to do.
We’re tired of our people getting shot to pieces for nothing. We’re tired of our so-called representatives doing nothing about it. And we’re ready to make a change. Going forward, we’ve got a simple and effective strategy. We vote Democratic in every single election. Bring on the #BlueWave.
Days after this was written, it had to be updated, to reflect the newest name on the roster. In New York City, earlier this evening, four officers (three in street clothes and one uniformed officer) fired 10 bullets in all. The man, identified by his father as Saheed Vassell, 34, was known to be mentally ill, and completely harmless.
The man had been walking around the streets for years, living his life and harming no one.
Nicole Williams, said she had given him $2 earlier on Wednesday afternoon. His last words to her, she said, were “Thank you, God.”
