Attn: The Entire Online Democratic Coalition.
Dear Democratic Family,
It is my sincere regret to inform you all that the Russians have returned onto America’s political scene. After a nearly three year period of dormancy, they have finished hibernation, and have now popped back up en masse and in earnest in time to get a headstart on the 2020 election cycle. The campaign appears to have just begun and has manifested in a most unusual and unexpected area- the Instagram community of Pete Buttigieg.
This was unexpected on every level. We have known the Russians were coming, of course; Vladimir Putin himself told us that. But even so, with characteristic chessplayer cleverness, they still found a niche from where they are almost impossible to see, and they did it in a brand new way. They have never chosen to support a moderate Democrat before, in all the time this has been going on, and it calls into question the persona of this rising blue star.
The Iowa caucus will be held on February 3rd, in less than sixty days from now. Before then, Buttigieg must state openly and strongly that he does indeed intend to prioritize national security, and he must take solid action against these trolls.
In order to get him to do that, this has to be a bigger story than I can make it on my own. Therefore, online Democratic coalition, I have written every one of you this formal letter of request, asking you for help raising national and world awareness about this. Call everyone you know. Do everything you can. The peril is close to absolute.
Slandering Pete Buttigieg, accusing him of anything, or even saying we don’t like him is not our intent. The Russians could be doing this just to disgrace him; we’re not ruling that out at all, nor indeed making any fact claims except the four below. Fact stretching and wild speculation is not in accord with journalistic standards. We draw no conclusions either way save two- Mr. Buttigieg must address this situation quickly, and the media must call on him to do so. That’s the only way we’ll ever know for sure.
Below are the facts that justify my recommendation that we watch him as closely as possible.
1. Pete Buttigieg has Russians infesting his Instagram community. They have mostly been inactive in American politics since Robert Mueller charged their thirteen nationals in 2018 and are actually quite rare. They are in no other platform, which makes sense since Instagram is new and yet has a billion members already. It is also nowhere near as regulated as Facebook and is, therefore, the perfect place for hiding in plain sight, preparing their strike without fear of discovery.
2. Pete Buttigieg is a personal friend of Mark Zuckerberg, a chronic persecutor of Democrats. They went to Harvard together. After they met on October 17 of this year in a highly underpublicized meeting, he hired two staffers at Zuckerberg’s behest. Within another thirty days, Russian trolls with Buttigieg’s name on them appeared and began multiplying prolifically.
3. Pete Buttigieg spoke dismissively when Hillary Clinton put Tulsi Gabbard in the public eye for being a favorite of Russia. “Statements like that ought to be backed by evidence,” he explained. The Cult Education Forum alone has more than a hundred pages of information on the Gabbard family’s bizarre activities. How is it possible for a guy who is said to have learned the Norwegian language while literally on the toilet to be unaware of this?
Deserving of an Honorable Mention: Pete Buttigieg won an award-winning paper all the way back in the year 2000 about none other than Bernie Sanders and what a great guy he is.
All of these save number three have business with Russia directly. There are too many red flags here to count. An exhaustive vetting process of Pete Buttigieg and his campaign must now be undertaken by the voters.
We do have one advantage, though like a mirage it will soon be gone. This is less than a month old; they are not well established. Interestingly, in that same 48 hours, the famous Russian troll farm GreenFloid, LLC tried to hack our website for the first time in years. Those are the ones who had held all the fake blacktivist rallies in Florida back then-and showed up heavily armed back then besides. Their reentrance onto the scene is more than just a warning sign.
If he starts early, if we start early, we can get out ahead of this and scatter those trolls like cockroaches, in the process showing the world what the difference is between us and the soon-to-be-impeached Donald Trump. No matter who Russian trolls say they’re for, we don’t want them around, and trying to “drown them out” is far too dangerous; not a sane risk to take after 2016. If Pete Buttigieg disagrees, let him give his reasons why. America deserves to hear them before voting in the Iowa caucus.
